    Chassee: There is a large variety of chasses across many dances. Variations include:
    The direction may be sideways, diagonal or even curving.
    Sizes of steps may vary. This also concerns the second, "Together", step: the moving foot may land right beside the standing foot or leave some space, or even barely move from its previous position.

    Interesting. You've missed out the simple run backwards which I think is not coached enough in badminton - there is too much reliance of chasse, and chasse I feel should be an adjustment step. If I play a medium to tight net shot and the opponent lifts I find the fastest way to reach the rear of either the forehand or round the head corner is to run, and at the age of 51 I am still able to do this regularly. I am unable to use a the chasse so effectively when travelling the full length of the court. In every day life if someone is a bit late for a bus we never see them try to catch it by using a chasse, they always run, because running is simply faster. Any thoughts?

    Hi Greg and Jenny, a question on service rules / technique
    If a right handed player while serving from odd court holds shuttle well inside the even court and hits the shuttle (both feet are in odd court), is that allowed? Wouldn’t such serve give an undue advantage if allowed?

    • @BadmintonInsight
      @BadmintonInsight  3 місяці тому

      That’s allowed, but why would it give you an advantage? To hit it like this, you would have to lean quite a lot… so your opponent would just hit it cross-court back to the odd side and you’d struggle to get it!
