Probably not but getting better. Others are watching youtube on this and other skills. What he can do, from my experience is find other opponents better than anyone in his class as sparring partner. May be not winning over them but after a while his classmate are no more challenging for him because he had experiancing better and harder skills and hitting
As a little kid who is doing a bit good at badminton I hadn't seen my mistake and I'm very thankful to find this video I am doing quite well now and also teaching my classmates who's also playing this! We are having the most fun!
I play this game in PE but I always feel bad because I suck and usually make my team lose lots of points. This video gave great advice. Thanks so much! Can’t wait to try out these tips.
Even as someone who plays quite well, based on my experience, as someone who play just for fun, I didn’t actually know some of these! Especially the proper way to hold the racket! I’ve always played with my pointer finger pointed in the racket, and have always ended up having to readjust and pause because I would get pain in my palm, from the pressure of my pointer finger pushing the bottom of the racket against my palm. I also didn’t know about the lunging! I always end up tripping on myself, or trying to reach with my opposite leg and almost end up stepping on the birdie because I trip on myself! Thank you so much for this! I was honestly just curious, and actually ended up getting some good advice! Thank you again!
Glad these tips really helped. If you don’t get little things like the grip right it can really limit your ability to improve as it’s hard to play shots like slices and clip smashes. Lunging is vital to improve your court coverage.
That second tip (partly) about not lunging out so that your rear foot comes off the ground is good advice in just about every sport I've played. Applicable to Badminton, Pickleball, Soccer (Football) and Judo, in my own experience.
Thank you for the video. My mom used to be a badminton coach so I have birdies and rackets but she doesn’t have time so, she can’t help me practice. Thank you so much for the video it taught me a lot of good stuff:))
Saya yes there are some shots and techniques where we would do this. However none of the techniques in this video I'd use to trick or delay the flow of the shuttle. Yes this video is aimed at beginners, as mentioned in the title.
@@kuno4651 When they smash at you you shouldn't be changing to the backhand grip you should already have your backhand grip ready in preparation for the smash encase they smash.
Thats why my finger is always somehow hurt when i play and why my shuttle always hits at the back of the court- Thanks this really helped me make my games better!
gosh this video is fun to watch! spotted some mistakes i made, lol. hope this would increase my skill, ofc with practice oftenly too! 🤩🤩 thanks a lot jacobs!!
@@JacobsBadminton I'm working on it! Oh anyway, I wonder how do you add more power when do the forehand recovery? So that the shuttlecock will woooshh faster?
I have been learning badminton for about 5 months but I feel so disappointed about the way I play, are there any tips that you can give me to hit the shuttle with a great power??
Wow this information is downright useful for beginner likes me who plays for whole 3 years for fun (past working time). always play the front grip when in defense stance and wonder why i cant counter the ball at all, cant wait to try it out on the field!
Yes absolutely every point you told was very imp actually . Because due to wrong techniques we are unable to generate enough power in our shots but the way you told everything is surely gonna help 👍
Have you noticed the overhead grip in the first clip is with your index finger tucked in and touching to your middle finger? That isn't very standard for what I've seen people teach (index finger higher for more control especially)? You are accurate with it though which is the only thing that matters obviously.
my common beginner mistakes is 2 and 4 I laughed so hard because that's how my form looks like when counter dropping a drop shot and my defense where my hand is behind my body. Hahahahahahahahahahahah I knew it was wrong, but it looks more wrong and funny seeing someone doing the same thing and emphasizing how obvious my mistakes are. Nice video!!!
Nice video. Where you located ? Have a problem with a racket arm when you learn clear and push elbow first . Feel unnatural and wierd. But that is probably old habits
I love playing badminton but I went a year playing with my finger for support and it's super weird to do it holding the racket with my full hand, I feel I can't generate power well. Do you have any tips or exercises (to generate power from the wrist for example)
I haven't played badminton since 3 years and suddenly my PE teacher said "you are selected for badminton state competition" This vid helped a lot thanks
Thank you I am good but not as good as my PE teacher cause he has said that who will defeat him will go in a team even though I am a very good throw ball player I always loved badminton more
At 1:46 shouldn't you be hitting the shuttle just AFTER your foot lands? It's quite hard to control the shot when you are still moving forward, isn't it?
t0miik the idea is we use our momentum to help the shuttle over the net, that way we don't have to stop and then hit which makes it hard to hit with a consistent weight. Hitting just before or as the foot lands helps keep a nice rhythm and recover straight away. If you saw the wrong version I was very of balance as well. Hope that helps.
The third one is really me, like I used to do that until my butt is close to the floor already and I'm thinking I'm good and am able to endure. Well nvm, I'm doing it wrong all along. But I'm glad that I'm doing the 5th one right.
And the feather (the ball thing) should also hit the middle of the racket Edit: I also started learning today but it helps me to beat my classmates! Hope this helps next WEDNESDAY
Hello, I have a question. Our teacher told us that we should put the racket behind our back so that the opponent doesn't see how I want to play the ball. That's complete nonsense, isn't it?
I'm one of the worst players in my class and I was doing EVERYTHING wrong. They don't teach us techniques, we just play. Nice video, thank you.

What he can do, from my experience is find other opponents better than anyone in his class as sparring partner. May be not winning over them but after a while his classmate are no more challenging for him because he had experiancing better and harder skills and hitting
Still worst but with proper technique now
As a little kid who is doing a bit good at badminton I hadn't seen my mistake and I'm very thankful to find this video I am doing quite well now and also teaching my classmates who's also playing this! We are having the most fun!

just take a note that this is for beginner. for semi pro and pro, some mistake-like is used to trick and delay the flow of the shuttle.
