Funny to see i was doing everything wrong.
XD
I play this game in PE but I always feel bad because I suck and usually make my team lose lots of points. This video gave great advice. Thanks so much! Can’t wait to try out these tips.
Good luck working on the tips and hope they help you to improve.
Also another tip:the feather has to hit the middle of the racket
@@flipacliproblox5055 Good advice yes
As a little kid who is doing a bit good at badminton I hadn't seen my mistake and I'm very thankful to find this video I am doing quite well now and also teaching my classmates who's also playing this! We are having the most fun!
That’s great your not making these mistakes. Your level must be very good and it’s amazing your helping others to.
Love how they acted they are beginners. Its deceptive.
Trying to them it wrong was very tough and had to concentrate because the technique we use is so ingrained.

@@ajiharisudin1021 9 what?
@@JacobsBadminton 9 birdees in your mouth-
@@JacobsBadminton 9 giraffes
The only crime I was commiting was defencing with normal grip rather than backhand
Thanks for the advice
Glad you found it useful and great there is only 1 thing for you to improve. Keep up the good work.
its hard for me to change grip fast so i use the normal grip to block and thats a bad thing
@@kuno4651 When they smash at you you shouldn't be changing to the backhand grip you should already have your backhand grip ready in preparation for the smash encase they smash.
@@JacobsBadminton yea but for driving its hard for me to change grip
@@kuno4651 Keep practicing and the grip changing will become second nature.
That second tip (partly) about not lunging out so that your rear foot comes off the ground is good advice in just about every sport I've played. Applicable to Badminton, Pickleball, Soccer (Football) and Judo, in my own experience.
Yes absolutely every point you told was very imp actually . Because due to wrong techniques we are unable to generate enough power in our shots but the way you told everything is surely gonna help 👍
Love this video gets straight to it! ❤
very helpful for me -a new beginner ,thank you.
I'm one of the worst players in my class and I was doing EVERYTHING wrong. They don't teach us techniques, we just play. Nice video, thank you.
Are you the best player now? 🛐
Thats why my finger is always somehow hurt when i play and why my shuttle always hits at the back of the court- Thanks this really helped me make my games better!
Glad we could really help you.
very good, thanks for this, will try some of these tips in my next match!
Even as someone who plays quite well, based on my experience, as someone who play just for fun, I didn’t actually know some of these! Especially the proper way to hold the racket! I’ve always played with my pointer finger pointed in the racket, and have always ended up having to readjust and pause because I would get pain in my palm, from the pressure of my pointer finger pushing the bottom of the racket against my palm. I also didn’t know about the lunging! I always end up tripping on myself, or trying to reach with my opposite leg and almost end up stepping on the birdie because I trip on myself!
Thank you so much for this! I was honestly just curious, and actually ended up getting some good advice! Thank you again!
Glad these tips really helped. If you don’t get little things like the grip right it can really limit your ability to improve as it’s hard to play shots like slices and clip smashes. Lunging is vital to improve your court coverage.
I never knew the finger thing was bad, thanks for the amazing tip!
great vid!
Thank you for this video
A very useful video. I have doing all the mistakes shown in the video for years together. Thanks for the tips.
Glad it helped Richard. Keep practicing good technique and you can iron out these mistakes.
Thank you for the video. My mom used to be a badminton coach so I have birdies and rackets but she doesn’t have time so, she can’t help me practice. Thank you so much for the video it taught me a lot of good stuff:))
Awesome that we could help you improve your skills.
Birdies? Never heard of that Americanism
@@bengrint84 just what we call them😭
Thank you 😊
just take a note that this is for beginner. for semi pro and pro, some mistake-like is used to trick and delay the flow of the shuttle.
Saya yes there are some shots and techniques where we would do this. However none of the techniques in this video I'd use to trick or delay the flow of the shuttle. Yes this video is aimed at beginners, as mentioned in the title.
O my gosh!! I didn't know that!!! Thank goodness I watched this video today because our Badminton District meet is tomorrow! Thank god!!!!
Tank you for the tips

Awesome Lessons 👌
Really glad it helped
I love playing badminton but I went a year playing with my finger for support and it's super weird to do it holding the racket with my full hand, I feel I can't generate power well. Do you have any tips or exercises (to generate power from the wrist for example)
Overhead grip really helped me, tsym🥰
Glad we could help and this will improve al your overheads and now you can use slices.
You're videos are amazing
Thanks Krish really appreciate that 👍
I have been learning badminton for about 5 months but I feel so disappointed about the way I play, are there any tips that you can give me to hit the shuttle with a great power??
Niranjana don’t know if you’ve already seen it but check out this video ua-cam.com/video/utlly9sFfYw/v-deo.html

My trick with badminton is grabbing the racket like your shaking a hand, works pretty well
Exactly, that's a great way to remember it and get it right.
These are some on point mistakes
I do all of them
It's amazing 👍
Thanks Ankur

Wow this information is downright useful for beginner likes me who plays for whole 3 years for fun (past working time). always play the front grip when in defense stance and wonder why i cant counter the ball at all, cant wait to try it out on the field!
Glad this really helped you and hope the tips helped in your matches.

Thanks ikankerapu glad you found it useful
Nice
learning basic badminton cause apparently we have intrams and no one in our section wants to volunteer so I’m gonna step out😎
nice video!
Thanks Sam
Have you noticed the overhead grip in the first clip is with your index finger tucked in and touching to your middle finger? That isn't very standard for what I've seen people teach (index finger higher for more control especially)? You are accurate with it though which is the only thing that matters obviously.
Useful
Great we could help you Meshak
Thankyou 👏
Glad you enjoyed it.
Terima kasih info 👍
Just glad we could help

Nice video Im doing badminton in PE class and into trying to be the best in my class lol
Good luck Saad and hope this helps you achieve that goal.
The third one is really me, like I used to do that until my butt is close to the floor already and I'm thinking I'm good and am able to endure. Well nvm, I'm doing it wrong all along. But I'm glad that I'm doing the 5th one right.
K L keep doing good practice and slowly slowly these techniques will come.
Helpful! ❤️🫂
Glad it helped blacksoul 👍
The last two are things I need to work on. Can you tell me how to remember this ? The main problem is that I forget these points and end up doing the same bs again and again
hey, i need help please. i play casually with friends and they have the net much higher than 5 ft, almost 5'7 or something. I'm 6 ft tall, but how should I smash consistently on a higher net?
I haven't played badminton since 3 years and suddenly my PE teacher said "you are selected for badminton state competition" This vid helped a lot thanks
