    Just bought a pair of these for music listening in my living room. I compared them to the Kali Audio TP6s which I thought would suit me better because of the ability to customise the settings based on where the speakers sit in a room. The JBLs blew me away. I'm a casual listener who listens to a wide variety of music (classical - jazz/soul - electronic) and they are beautifully resonant, clear and exciting. THANKS ZEOS !

    im digging that review.My friend have lsr 305,wee room with acoustic panels, bass traps, carpet on the floor plus curtains on the doors etc etc. Was blown away after when I heard them first time. Its exactly how you said about the head between speakers. I could point out with fingers where vocals coming from. Separation of sounds, clarity and that I don't know... stage feeling. My wife have no clue about stuff like that, but I told her just to sit for a few moments and give it a try, she had shivers and all over. Love them

    I just got the LSR305's today, really happy with them. I thought they was faulty at first, as they kept popping on a bass test video. Turns out it was just the video, doesn't happen with anything else, even a frequency sweep at max volume no pops. Love them.

    Z Reviews you're awesome, great personality. Don't know if you're aware of how much room acoustics play in sound projection. Just like the corner you walked into, the bass suddenly was exentuated. Room and placement is very important to get the juice out of any speakers. My ego thought otherwise for years.

    Thanks for the review. Would be interesting to watch a review on lsr310s. I know it's not that powerful compared to svs or rhythmic but still considering the specs it's a quite decent music sub for a medium, small room. And lsr310s will complement lsr305 perfectly well.

    Love you, man! I really care about the "quiet performance" of the MR624 (I was hoping there will be an improvement in that aspect with the LSR MKII, but oh well), but I feel that the JBLs are still clearer (more crystal) sounding somehow, which is something I care a lot about as well.... arghhh... I can't decide... Anyway... Looking forward to the LSR306's vs the Mackies. That will be the final resolution for my problems with life (hopefully).

    • @JohnSmith-oe4bw
      @JohnSmith-oe4bw 6 років тому

      Def looking forward to a comparison of 305 vs 306, and 306 vs 624. The amp noise on the 305's never bother me. In fact, I only hear it if I put my ear to the tweeter. So, its a non issue.

    • @waynebruce24893
      @waynebruce24893 6 років тому

      For vocals, I bought the Mackie mr524 and added the mrs10 sub. Much more accurate in my opinion. The JBLs had more bass but didn't sound as clear and true as the mackies when it comes to vocals.

    • @amanieux
      @amanieux 6 років тому +1

      your mr524 + sub makes a lot of sense. are the mr524 good at low volume ? my 305 are amazing at high volume but meh at low volume (human voice volume). my 305 also have a tweeter hiss i can hear up to 1.5m, does the mr524 also have a tweeter hiss ?

    • @waynebruce24893
      @waynebruce24893 6 років тому

      amanieux the mr524 is great at low volume just like how Z describes their bigger brother. Absolutely zero hiss. I turn the dial to full blast on both the 524 and mrs10 sub as well as full volume from source (PC + DAC) and no hiss.
      This is a sleeper set up that does not get the attention it deserves. I can not stress how all three bands (hi, mid, and low) sound so accurate and well balanced compared to the JBL speakers and sub.

    • @amanieux
      @amanieux 6 років тому

      ok thanks mr524 looks good, affordable price good reviews, good looking, but are you sure the mrs10 sub is the best price/performance ratio you could think of ? (i am sure it is better than entry level sub at $89 www.amazon.com/Polk-10-Inch-Powered-Subwoofer-Single/dp/B0002KVQBA but at 4x the price is it worth it ?) and what about the DAC is it worth it ? do you hear the difference ? i can definitely hear the difference when adding a sub but i am doubtful about a DAC)

    i think you flip them cause nearfield mid and high sound louder and bass sounds less
    while at distance it's the opposide , therefore you need them closer
    so you're not the only "upside-down"

    Hey Zeos, have you seen the/heard of DAC-X7 by Audio-FX? What do you think about it? Are you planning on reviewing it? Because i'm planning on getting a dac/amp set up but the Schiit Stack will cost me around $AUD 400 so I'm wondering if the x7 is any better.

      Z Reviews Would you ever try to put a pair of monitors in home listening settings? I've seen people doing it, but wondering if that actually makes sense. Thanks for replying!

    For those interested in adding a sub, I found this bit of hardware very helpful. And yes, the NPatch will output both 1/4 and 3.5mm at the same time. I've got the 1/4 to my LSR305's and the 3.5mm to my sub. Solid bit of hardware.
