Nobody: Wow
Zeos: "WOOOOOAH"
Great review. I met their main tech at AES NYC. 8 db less distortion vs average similar size / price monitors. No noticeable hiss with normal use. Detailed, yet easy on the ears for just listening or mixing / mastering while my high end Dynaudio are in the shop. Their 8" version is just louder, a bit more bass. I prefer these for size / price. A sub, and 3-way is in the works in a higher end line. Without concerns for price, I'd predict their higher end models will also be game changing like these were.
underated comment
So when is the JBL 306P vs Kali LP6 comparison video coming out?
I mix and master on these, They are great for music production because they are reference monitors
So they give you a good point of reference on what your music should be sounding like and what to fix and what to make louder and softer. They also have crazy soundstaging when you have them on your desk and you’re sitting in an equilateral triangle, which is used in production to let you know what frequencies are clashing and what sounds should be panned to not clash. The 2nd most important part of my home made control room first being the room treatment.
There is a good reason for the "baby thin" surround. The small roll lets the profile also be thinner (that is, the material thickness is less). That, together with the thin wall, straight profile poly cone, allows them to minimize the overall weight of the cone and get a good blend of efficiency, stiffness, and self-damping. As long as the suspension stiffness and electromagnetic Q of the woofer are carefully controlled, the reflex enclosure can actually work more efficiently to make up for the lost displacement on the part of the driver. Wide profile surrounds must also be thicker, and thus heavier, otherwise they experience resonances that fall within the bandwidth of a midbass driver, at the upper end around 1-2 kHz give or take a bit. So for a speaker optimized to perform well in the midrange, you want to keep the surround profile thin. (For dedicated woofers in a three-way speaker, and subwoofers, a wider surround makes more sense because it's not operating in the midrange where the surround resonance happens.)
Many asked how compare to Mackie MR624. I'd had both side by side in my home studio, to test. I am sensitive to highs, so I must turn down the treble on all studio monitors, regardless of who makes them. The Mackie's with treble down -2 db was still too bright. The Kali set flat, every switch, perfect. A first for any monitor. They are not dull at all, great detail. They just found a way to make it not harsh. Bass was similar to the Mackie. The Kali also had a taller and a wider soundstage, less distorted bass, very realistic mids. No contest. They beat every under $500 pair by KRK, Presonus, Yamaha, Tannoy, Mackie, JBL, ADAM, etc.
Kali ma Shakti de....💪🏻🏋️
Har jagah bhartiya bhare huye hain.
hahahahahahhahahahah
Ye sach me kali ma sakti de bola 😂😂😂😂
@@samon9344 Shakti bola.
@@debabratasahoo6487 seriously
12:05 For a second I thought the round of applause was planned after giving the speakers praise lol
Hello. Could you please compare LP-6 vs MR624. Best regards form Poland! ;).
Love your video, I've just copped these & i was Blown away!!! I did have KRK 5 3g's but the Kali Lp-6's kill them!!!!
I use monitors for DJ mixing and music production, and the sound staging on the Kaki's is unreal!!!
Like, you play a track you've heard a million times, you can now hear a bug fartting in the studio!! LoL
Anyway, I can highly recommend them!
I'm going back to Kali, Kali..
i don't think so
haha i was just listening to that song!
@Michael Culhane, you beat me to it😂
A comparison between this and T7V for desktop use would be great, not as living room fodder, but for nearfield as they were intended.
I had a Marantz receiver with 40 watts / channel and a pair of AR 3as back in the '70s and it was loud and had plenty of bass.
In the near future these probably are gonna be my new studio monitors. Can't wait for the showdown with the JBL's.
I've never seen an instruction manual actually printed on the back of a speaker before, but at least you don't have to worry about losing it. I don't think they look bad for the money. The front baffle looks similar to a Revel design. JBL and Revel are both owned by Harman, so I guess that's not surprising seeing that these come from JBL defectors.

Best review - You crack me up!
I just ordered them.
Zeos the guys at Kali Audio have a link to your review on the site! Great review by the way!
Jay ma Kali shokti de. Nice Bengali ❤️
I'm getting a pair of Lp6s tomorrow 🤘
This versus Adam T7V... Why the T7V? because 5V not enough bass compared with this LP-6... And the LP-8 is too much so the mids stay back in general audio content. So... Kali LP-6 vs Adam T7V.
So how about LP-6 vs Mackie MR524 or 624? Just for listening to music. MR524 is perfect size for my room.
These are nearfield studio monitors, they aren't meant for listening to the John Wick soundtrack in your living room, which is why they only have 40W per driver.
What do you think Zeos Pantera is? A noob? An idiot? lmao
@@SaintsPurgatory apparently yep he is

Just ordered these and the 305p mkII on black friday sales. I'm going to compare them and return one. I got the Kalis for less than the JBL, so we will have to see what happens.
I think the Kali LP6s are winning...
was planning to get the presonus eris 4.5 then i watched this and changed my mind.
kali lp-6 it is. thanks!
the name roughly translates to anger..
Damn right.
Done did it with your link. Appreciate the work!
Bought em and am mixing a local radio spot. Love em.
Hay Z, you should really look into some QSC speakers like there k 8.2. They are the best speakers I have ever heard. Great video btw.
What??? Kalima shakti dey 😲😲😲 you spoke hindi!!
2000 dollars speaker stands.
Because yes
You need to try some Focals btw!
Jeremy Clarkson $3000
Gary M Meme
I agree, he shoud try the Focal Alphas
Focal needs to make a coaxial Solo6 that can go to 35hz, and doesn't have hiss like these Kali monitors and JBL monitors.
And if you add a sub below 80/100 hz you free up even more power/load on the woofer. That's the beauty of it. Add a DAC and you are good to go. It's an incredible bargain! (And the v2 doesn't even hiss any more) The "revengineers" are real cool cats. :-)
Please review the 306p!
So these are the best $300 pair of powered monitors? What is the best $300 pair of passive bookshelf speakers? Preferably a pair of bookshelf speakers with a 6.5in.
Sell you amp and get these?
Now I only need to decide between these and mackies.
i think this is for fun and listening but some others with more detail for mixing
@root Computer speakers primarily for listening. Apparently LP-6's are comming to europe in about 2 months. Gotta check them out then. Can't imagine I could wait any longer
It all depends on which color of LEDs is more to your liking. Mackies are green, Kalis are blue, JBL's are white. Choose wisely.
Used Mackie HR824 is the best monitor I've heard under $100. Actual bass, no port chuffing, audible vocals. (That being said, I'm not satisfies with anything these days unless it can reach at least into the 30hz region.
Kali LP6 vs Mackie MR 624, which one is better (is one better?) and for what reason?
Also what I'm thinking
Actually I'm in veeery concerned about these two, which should I pick up as my first studio monitors
@@zhemyc Would recommend the Mackies because I also have them and they are great but the best is to listen to both pairs and then make a choise
I have the same problem. LP-6 vs MR624. With one?
Tannoy reveal
Wow , Z-Reviews and Hanna Montana Fan Club post video at the same time ...Day is made !!
So can I go pick them up at your apartment already???
Please will you keep the Kali's out so we can hear a bit of the direct comparison to the JBL 306p's.?
yes
Are you going to be reviewing the 3 way coaxial monitors by them? Kali IN-8
Is that basil on your window? Looks nice.
These, The LP-8s, or Yamaha HS8? I'll mostly be mixing hardcore, hip hop, and rock.
Where is the S400 review :(
On his Patreon so give it about another week or so. It'll be here. Zeos just let's his Patrons see it before the rest of us.
Me three!
I’m just joining pat... I need ask questions too
@@dapster glad to read that

I loved it!
Great story about the little guys going out and living the dream!
So I can get a gently used pair of Kali LP6's or a brand-new pair of Edifier s3000 pro's for the same money -- which sounds weird, but Cambodia is weird. What's everybody think?
B&H Photo had Denon's DN-308S "professional" monitors on sale for $160.00 a pair a week or two ago. Think they were a steal because they are discontinued, but would be fun to review just because of the price.
Except the amps on them are garbage… that’s why you don’t see the m3-6 and m3-8’s for sale much from m-audio…
They sound wonderful for five years and then boom - they stop working on/off and then you hear a buzzing sound at times and then one day part of them just stops working…
I just bought the Tannoy Reveal 502 and I have to say I'm impressed with the sound for the price, they are way better than KRK’s for monitoring.. You should review some monitors from Reveal series..
I'm really happy with these babies
Thank you Sir.
I bought them to replace the JBL. No regrets, fantastic speakers , even better with the JBL sub
Kali will make a sub this year
@@thedon1784 I saw that. Will have to be be pretty good to surpass the 310s but I expect they will
@@JeffMudrick well... for starters, they're 12"s
@@JeffMudrick they might be showcasing the sub at NAMM
The Low End is insane in these.
The "S" in SVS also left, only some time after the "V". the "S" is a personal friend of mine, actually.
Z, Thx for your great and entertaining videos. My question is: what is the unit that you use that controls two powered speakers' volume, with the remote control?
Remember the 306P MkII won the TEC Award from Namm, remember that ....
Did you open 306p? I REALLY wanna see this review.
v2 version is out wander if the noise less than your adams or hs5s .
From all the Kali LP-6 videos I've seen, I like them better than LSR305's, but vs the newer 306p's? I don't know.
I did however fill out the "let me know when available in the uk" form!
I might need these 🤔 what’s the song in the beginning? Sound nice
Yo Zeos! Any thoughts on testing out the the Audio Pro Addon T20's? Got them for half the price now that they're about to go out of stock soon I've heard. You should check them out for sure. Thanks for the great reviews so far mate!
Kalimaaaa nice review
man said KALI MAA SHAKTI DE 😂😂😂
What u said..
Kali maa shakti de...
Where did u get this????
I m from india
What is the perceived value $$$ based solely on sound.
Mayb like an upgraded front ported jbl 306. But KALI's are GREAT.
The new version of the LP6's has no "stand-by mode" anymore.
is that a bad thing? what does it do?
@@joneslego3645 its very good ! i have new version and no standby. With standy, sometimes you listen chill to music low volume and .... hop ! turn off.
To turn on you must go up the volume of the music for 3 second .... and they turn on .... standby is shit lol. I have the new LP6 and they stay on. it's cool. :)
What about compared to the Mackie 6's?
You should mention the Mackies when you review the 306p
where is the cat?
Cat is not interested anymore
I 've read numerous reviews about their hiss being a bit too much...is it the case? I get that there is always a certain amount of his in class d studio monitors of this price range, but is it really an issue?
So, for nearfield, the hype is real?
Could you compare the self noise (hiss) between the LP6 and Adam T5Vs?
Adams have laser sharp sweet spot + slightly expensive.
Kali hisses as hell
Mackie mr624 or JBL 306 or Kali lp6??
How's the hissing noise of these monitors? Some say it's very audible and some says you only hear it when you have ear 1cm away from driver so wich one is it?
Hello, and what do you suggest when i have 500/600 euro to spend? Keep up the good work!!!
Did you just say 'Kali ma shokti de'?? As a Bengali Indian who speaks this language, I feel pumped that you know this.
It's at 0:33 btw.
I think it's Indiana Jones and The Temple of Doom reference, if I'm not mistaken.
I'll tell you what I notice right off the bat.
No shiny black fucking plastic.
13:25 I don't think bass develops in a good way, I think what we hear when we backup from speakers outputting base is peaks from the reflections combining with the direct sound.
Happened with my JBL308 and Elac Navis. It's less clear, but most people don't mind, including myself to a point, as most monitors need more bass more than they need more bass definition.
yeah and in adequate acoustic environments the Kalis low end is super tight and super fun to listen to :D
0:34 Did you really say "KALI MA SHAKTI DE" ? (which, from Hindi language translates to Oh mother Kali give me strength)
I was quoting Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom. So probably yes.
Zeos which headphones are super immersive for gaming and movies don't care about mic talking about actual headphones but got to be super immersive like actually make u feel u are inside the tv please respond
Between the Edifier s350 and this model, with no add-ons to these, which would you choose?
Can you try the tannoy reveal?
Yes I’m buying these now! I sold my totem arro! And now I’m with my NAD356BEE DAC! Can I use the NAD preamp and the DAC to power these or is it best to sell the NAD amplifier? Please let me know..
Zeos you need to listen Alon Mor - Los Recuerdos. It will Blow your mind
Would you ever review vintage bookshelf speakers?
Thats an epic review ahahahah :D
Im really confused between , These and Adam T7v For as Studio Monitors for Music Production and Mixing , What would you suggest
How's the tweeter hiss on these? Had to return the JBL 306p cause their hiss at my listening position (2 to 3ft) was very distracting.
They hiss too, about the same IMO. Have you tried using balanced cables or trying to isolate the speakers to their own power strip?
@@stealthis yeah did both and also demoed them at a local audio shop. Still the same hiss.
Edit: forgot to mention that I'm also looking at Mackie MR624 which I hear has less hiss
@@decibel0746 damn. I haven't used balanced on mine yet but the hiss is variable
Revenge is a dish best served with a tweeter in the middle?
This is sorta like the showdown between Vivaldi and Opera, where the former developers of old-school Opera left, made their own company, and soon took over the position of best browser for power-users (on the desktop) with Vivaldi. Opera is just Chinese bloatware/spyware now.
Zeos, cant find the Edifier S350DB sound demo video =(
Will you review the Genelecs you unboxed?
These work well for a small viewing room and using them with phantom center? Room is probably 10x12x9'6 viewing distance is about 6' ish?
Can you recommend these over Adam T5V?
I intend to buy either of these today, Kalis are generally more expensive where I live but I found a B-stock pair for roughly the same price as Adams and I can't really make up my mind.
Hard call. I'd need to A/B directly. The 8" or the more pricey IN-5 would be a guarantee upgrade.
@@ZReviews ordered Kalis and they will come in today, my only regret is they aren't as pretty as Adams and the color ain't right
Out of these and all the others you mentioned, where do the Vanatoo's fit????
Anyone really into speakers and happen to know what causes a new speaker to only sometimes pop on power down, and very rarely have some kind of static attack that can accumulate into a pop, possibly only if you'd changed the volume on power up? a defective resistor?
Music mixing on a desk. These or the lsr305
Kill Bill is a better revenge movie
Zeus bro, sorry to bother you... The new M audio BX3's just came out... the micro studio monitor market is getting heated my bro... lets do this... Mackie CR3's vs the new BX3's... I need to know my bro... god bless...
These are production monitors. Strange review.
I don't suppose anyone knows how these Kali's compare to the Adam T5 or T7V's? I've been looking at both monitors and unsure which one to choose.
im in the same dilema if you found anything that helps let me know!
@@JoseSandoval-ez4xw It's a tough one isn't it, will do...
I'm deciding between these two as well. Would really like to try Adams T5V as my first pair of monitors with the ribbon tweeter. I dont have much space in my room so probably gonna go for Kali LP6 simply because they are front ported, definately gonna be close to the wall.
I tried Kali and Adam T7V and I'm keeping the Adams because they don't have ANY hiss here, the Adams have better high end and better seperation of instruments, the Kali do have more and better mids (you must EQ the adams in that case if you want to reach the same mid-level). Bass levels are interesting: The Kalis do have more punch and in-your-face bass and reach down to 36-37Hz in my room. The Adams on the other side have a less punchy, crisp bass but it goes deeper until 34Hz - the bass is smoother and does NOT have a high cut. That means the bass speaker of the Adams still moves when you give him 20Hz sinus waves. The Kalis say no to that and cut down at 35Hz. In the end both are awesome but I like the stereo field and the "not existing hiss" more, so I kept the T7Vs.
Of course not sold in Australia...
so i currently have the old jbl lsr308 and am thinking of upgrading to more detailed sound. Any suggestions?
you gotta compare to the Kali IN-8, it has concentric mid/tweeter.
