plz Z never ever stop doing 20-40min videos, i love watching them
the real fans stick around
But lotsa profanities. That's what I can't stand it
Get over it
Yeah its just so much more time to express his thoughts and opinions about those speakers
Well I do watch all of your videos .. all 20 something minutes of them .. and I am sure I am not alone..
Yup, you are not.
Probably crazy cat-ladies skipping to the few cat clips.
not alone, confirmed
You are not alone. I sometimes watch them all the way through more than once.
So do I !!
This is not a boring specs review that means nothing, this is by someone who actively listens to and loves music and is passionate about the nitty gritty, the things that matter. And that's what we need. Great work, thank you so much, I know what to buy now (T7V). And to recommend to friends (T5V).
I just bought the T5V's as my first studio monitors and use them for both music listening and mixing, they're great! Was quite suprised to see this in my sub-feed and even more suprised to see you praising them so.
i love them !
I watched and rewatched your z wire video like a jillion times. I wanna thank you for that, I got some nice cables for not much money and they didn't turn out half bad.
I'm still watching, I promise. It's just, your desk reviews are so much more intimate.
FINALLY! I've been waiting for this one. I've been using Adam gear for the past 6 years and I love them. Ordered the new T7v.
Most informative and entertaining reviews I have ever seen. I think I'm going with the 5's over the 7's now.
I've tried the JBLs quite a while ago for a brief period and I strongly prefer the ADAMs. I really prefer an ability to resolve small details in audio over excitement. What's also worth noting is that although Adam's AMT tweeter allows for very detailed highs, it is NOT fatiguing.
I too watch all your videos and watch them to completion.
Adam Audio also has the big T8V as well. I have used the T7V (in a room with no treatment on a desk) before and I love them, they are great especially in the nearfield when toed right in to your listening position. Good for mixing for sure and yes you do need to tweak the master volume knobs at the rear to get it perfectly balanced. They are pretty simple, just plug them in.
best review on a pair of speaker i could not make my mind up about, thank you for your help, much appreciated, went with the T7V as it fills the room a bit more.
25:05 is what sold me :)
He literally said to buy the 5's, not the 7's...
Thanks for all your helpful reviews! Now I have to get rid of my ELAC Debut 2.0 B6 and get the T5v's. And I do watch your videos in their entirety.
It's when I do multi-session reruns that I'm close to pulling the trigger. Keep em detail rich, fun and provocative in terms of system integration. Cheers!
Hoo boy that's a relief. I bought a pair of T7Vs literally two weeks ago and then saw the next day that you had them pending. I thought real hard about going JBL 306P for the same price instead. Real hard. More of a home studio/reference setting so I made exactly the right choice.
I just subscribed because I couldn't find your videos. I've always loved your reviews, when they come up. I hope you channel never changes.
Make Videos of 1.5hrs long and I will invite all my friends to have a Z movie night with popcorn and coca cola
YOU FAIL GOOD SIR.. PEPSI IS THE SUPERIOR COLA PRODUCT.. GOOD DAY!
No soda, homemade sweat tea is the best.
a little salty for my tastes...
@casey littlefield Wrong, Coffee is just better.
@@ZReviews You are a man of taste
The T7Vs like all two way monitors, will have a larger "hole" between the two drivers. Thanks for the review!
Yes, those lows eat away the mids a bit.
Just bought the T5V, Can't wait!
do you have good mix results with them ? :)
just picked up the T5V and they are awesome!
Btw, if anyone interested: The T7V uses the TI tas5754m amp/dsp and a
pcm1862 as the adc.
Okay, you answered my questions! Should have waited!!
awesome man, your a funny guy! mad me chuckle several times!! really useful info though and helped me make my decision to get the 7's for my productions!!!
Best No BS review for these Monitors!! Thank you!
I watch every minute man, we are out here, I just got Mackie MR624’s for bedroom so worth it, now these for living room, thank you
SVS Ultra for living room...
I just sold off a pair of ADAM A8x because they were taking up too much space on my desk (Yep, I'm nuts). I needed to upgrade my computer display to a 43" 4K HDR monitor and that meant going with smaller studio monitors. My max width is 8" and I was originally planning on a pair of ADAM A5x monitors and matching it up to a subwoofer. After seeing this and a few other videos I reversed course and bought the T5v instead. I also bought the PreSonus E66 as they intrigued me. I will set both of them up for extended listening and then and keep the speaker I like the most and send the other one back. I have spent the last day listening to the T5v. Very impressive small speaker. It took me quite sometime to get them dialed and level matched with my subwoofer. If I have one small quibble with these it is that the low end starts to fall apart at high SPLs. These speakers can get quite loud. The middle and top end hold up nicely at SPLs over 100db. But the bottom end starts to distort a little bit at that point. But these are small monitors and they have quite a bit of slam given their size so keep that in mind. And the price is certainly right at $400 for a pair. I was actually a bit surprised by how good they sound. I hope to get around to setting up the PreSonus E66 soon.
It would be my guess that the 5's have more depth and transparency is because a smaller mid/bass driver transitions better with the tweeter (It's faster due to less mass.) not to mention tighter bass.
Damn it Z! Returning the JBL 305s & ordering these baby’s today xD thanks for your videos, I appreciate them!
What du you think you get
I am getting the adam T5v's. I could not listen to them in any store here. So I am happy you did this review.🙂 I think the reason they're better is that the mid has to come out of the woofer too and the bigger the woofer gets the harder it is the get a good punchy mid out of them.
Watching this after a long day at work is like therapy for me, amen for this God!!
Loved the dramatised start:)
I have a lot to learn so I watch your videos from start to finish I am a Veteran living on a fixed income of 1079 dollars a month so I don't want to waste money when I do finally save up enough to purchase a music system
I'm not from the States, but if I were an American, I would have wrote thank you for the service good sir.
@@almog3875 Thank you for your support
Wow! Just bought the 7’s today..great review! You gained a subscriber!! I use mine for production...upgrading from Behringer Truth 8’s, which I loved!
Finally a decent review! Good job mate¡ 🙂
I like the shiny looks of jbls, I own 2 pairs and a pair of Adam t5.. all in one setup💥
I usually watch your vidz entirely because they're E N T E R T A I N I N G AF.
4:18 Zeos cuts off “Killing Moon” by:Echo and the Bunnymen. Great 👍 Tune.
your reviews are always awesome
I’m a fan of adam and almost ordered T5V but when I compared it mackie mr524 last ones sounded clearer, deeper and detailed with good sub punch and mids but less warmer than adams. So for mixing now I want mackies
Fantastic video, Truly well explained🎄🎅🎉🎶🎶 incredible sounding speakers👍🏼
T5V's over that for sure!
The 7s do depth pretty well. I have mine on a set of isostands about a foot away from the wall, and the wall directly behind the port is treated with acoustic panels.
My reference point is the emotiva 4s and the 6s. A to B on a foam pad, the 4s give the illusion that they seem to layer the lower notes better than the 6. If I load the ports off a treated wall it has the same effect with both monitors. I believe it is slowing the wave down or dispersing it to give that perception of depth.
Another point on the T7v is using the boost makes the low end sound a bit muddy in my opinion. I prefer the 0db setting and that's where the dsp work really shines to me.
hows the hiss/noise with adam t7v? Can you hear it from listening distance ?
Thanks for review i bought T5V after this review and they are great!
Just got mine too.
Also I was watching your Kali LP-6 review and you said you liked them but for a desk spend $100 more and get the Adam T5V's. So I came back and rewatched this review 3 months later in full
thanks i ordered the T5V now on sale :D
Zoos you are fucking hilarious. Just know I watch all your videos and love the intro to the end. I say average I watch is about 7-10min. Unless I am buying speakers, which i did based on what advise you gave me.
i love your long videos :)
Just for the record, I watch through just about everything of yours lol.
Love this review. Thanks!
have a feeling the difference between the 5s and 7s you might be hearing is the responsiveness of the bass cones. 5s might be tighter response to the 7s. also it makes sense the 5s have a shorter nodal range than the 7s but i wouldnt have expected it to be that big of a difference.
This was great. Thanks for walking through each part of your experience. Maybe the word you are looking for between the 7's and 5's is the 5's are just slightly hyped. The great part is that they're hyped in a really great way, presenting sound well rather than truncating and distorting tonality to get at a certain frequency punch, but that if it's just raw detailed transparent accuracy you want, then the 7's are just a little more of that. Hearing you talk about the 5's makes me second guess leaning toward the 7's, but knowing I'm really needing these for production more than anything else, the 7's are probably my jam. Thanks for all the thoughts on these.
Adam just announced at NAMM they are bringing out a 10 inch sub for $499, mid 2019, matched for these speakers. 32Hz to 150 Hz.
Thank you for your recommendation love T5V, will get swan hivi M5A for living room
Best Reviews, Z Reviews!
I’ve watched multiple videos on these monitors and I just bought a pair today and god DAMN I love them. Bass isn’t CRAZY but nice, clear and balanced
The trick with any speaker is getting its frequency plot readout and dropping any peaks on the graph.
I think it s very possible you have some standing waves and some cancellations in your room with regard to the bass on the t7v (taken into consideration the lack of acoustic treatment and especially the windows behind the rear ported speakers). So i think that the problem is not on the t7v in comparison to t5v, but the way they each create the low end sounds.
Dude! I watch all your videos finished. Love the car stuff as well. Keep it up bro!
Yep, you aint lying. Throwing down on some food while watching Z Reviews.
I switched from A3x to Genelec 8040b about 2 weeks too. An entire new world. I now know what truth my ADAM was not telling me while mix and mastering.
I've heard those 8040s in a store, they are witchcraft.
the review had to be just some seconds from 19:00 to 19:12 i loved it keep it up zeos we watch all the reviews
The 5s have so much punch that in a 12-24 room I thought buying a sub would be pointless. Very balanced bass as well. Amazing speakers is an understatement.
Very insightful. So you’d say that if you’re a music listener or audio file and want exciting: get the 5”. But if you’re a music producer and you want flat and true: get the 7”
I just ordered the 5s for casual listening for a 3.5x4m room mostly because your argument at 15:38 makes total sense to me
I did what you did and listened to a friends t5v that was so good it destroyed my PMC FB1s in comparison. So much clarity and tightness. Then I bought T7v as was only slightly more. The warm in period with these is painful. You go through the following stages. No bass, ok but a bit lacking in clarity, way too much bass with huge boom at 50 Hz, that forces you to move them further from the wall and then they finally sound really good. After 8 hours of use they sBest I've heard everything. But they need room to breathe. If you have small room definitely go t5v. Still enjoying the 7s. The bass and the punch is spectacular now. Clarity is very good, maybe not quite T5 good yet but with each listen it sounds better. Helped also by better cables. Seems a bit fussier than 5s too.
@blacknester lol what
@blacknester So, Jamo 803 or adam t5v?
Zeos I always go past 6 minutes on your videos mate, how can I not?! :D :D To the end or bust!!!
Now I just want to see a review of the Adam S3V
These T5v's are indeed pretty awesome..even in compare with the mighty and more as double priced "High Resolution" monitors like the.. "AirPulse A100's"..there is almost no difference in sound-quality..really amazing.. :) ..think U would like the A100's also very much..
So i rewatched your vid for 10 times now, gonna take the leap of faith and grab the new Adam T8V. Should have perfect lowend, 70+20W power.
And how is it?
29:57 I watch your full videos. Some times even twice if it's on headphones I want.
I still need speaker for the TV, I kind of want floor stands though.
sweet set, either of them. gonna start recommending them. oh and there is only a $50 difference now via you amazon links.
I will have to try a set of these Adams
TLDR: Big question: "Should I keep my JBL 305P's or should I get the Adam T5v's?" Keep the JBL's. 29:56
Uses: T5v's - Music, gaming, living room, parties, bar mitzvahs, orgies.
T7v's - Mixing.
The trick is a simple one, get a pair of decent midrange producing front speakers with good highs and get a separate matched pair of subs, one sub only provides mono bass out put, despite people saying bass is non directional thats just nonsense, some bass frequencies are very directional. never force deep bass out of your fronts
@@Synthematix smaller subs say , 8" in stereo have more range 10-12 inch I think are to omni directional run risk of harming the speaker
You only need one sub for vinyl though right?
Bent Knee fan I don't think you need a subwoofer for music, especially if the speakers are good.
I watched all 33 mins . Fab content
Outstanding review. Truly outstanding. Question for you. Would you still go for the 5’s if paired with an Adam Audio T10s Sub, or do you think that would sway you to the 7’s...... ps your voice is great, sounds like I’m listening to a review from Jack Black in school of rock. 👍🏼👊🏼
My advice for t5v monitors, -2dB for HF because then frequency response is more flat and nicer for ear also. Check this!
The ultimate speakers for detail and performance at low volume listening are Magnepans. Nothing else comes remotely close, nothing with a speaker cone anyway.
Had T7V, returned them, high noise floor + not great dsp downgrading my dac(dry sound without the juice). Going for Focal Alpha 65. Update: don't buy 65(humm), went for 80
Those T5V & T7V use PCM1862 ADC to convert the analog input back to digital, then "LCD/LED TV grade" TAS5754M with built in DSP, DAC and Class-D Amplifier, all powerd by universal switched-mode supply. I am surpriced by the sound, after that fact.
I got the LSR305 based on your reviews and when I set them up all I did was grin. Wondering how much better it can get. Sad that the emotiva powered monitors are discontinued. Would these be end game powered monitors?
I have both T5V and T7V and i can agree that T7V can be better for making a decision while mixing/mastering but T5V are much more fun to listen to. Both are amazing tho. (I have a large room with no acoustic treatment)
What size room are the T5V good in ?
@@c.s.herman860 in my opinion they’re pretty good everywhere I’ve heard them, small rooms, weird shaped rooms, etc. I’m no expert but every person I know that bought t5v’s is pretty happy with what they got, no matter how big/small room they have. Of course there is acoustic treatment topic but I lack knowledge to speak about it.
this man reminds me of jack black . Respect to you sir .
Hey zeos,
I just ordered a pair of 530 studios and I’m very excited, however I’m searching a second pair for my Synthies and for mixing.
The lower the costs, the better.
Which monitors should I check out? I was looking into these or the emotivas... any other candidates?
There actually is a dip in the mid-low and push in the high on the 5V that's not there 7V, so you're right, the 7V is flatter
reason that the bass is louder is because you have a smaller box and higher compression coming out that box but in a studio with treatment the tv7 are more balanced in the bottom end.
Because of ur review i just bought t5v. for mixing. 120e per speaker.
Aaah, the old apartment and infinitely better acoustics than you seem to have in either the 'cavern' upstairs or the basement in the new place. As ever, I'm living in the past :(
Man, I had noooo idea about the Adam T5V, I needed small speakers for my second rig. I went and got them at my local music store. I didn't even try them at the store. Set them up in my studio and pressed play and I had to check twice if I wasn't playing through my Neumann KH310.. The T5V is truly magical! I will praise them to anyone wanting to make music are starting audiophiling. Anyway - Then I thought: Someone must have done a good review about these speakers, and I saw that you had done one and I was like: Fuck this is it: Either he talks bullshit about them or he tells the truth how fucking amazing they sound ahahaha!!! And you did!! And who are the idiots watching 5 minutes? Maybe the youtube counter is broken since I have 2 kids I can't watch more then 10 min at 1 go, but always watching the videos from start to finish. Anyway! Need to watch the rest of the video now! Thanks for reviewing these!
So mixing and making music on T5V's is no problem for you?
@@QuasimodoFTW That is what they're designed for, lol.
@@no2thenwo737 T7V’s are way better for it. I’ve owned both pairs now and T7V’s are the way
I do watch your videos in full length, but I'm always getting seasick on the way through. ^^
the fun factor is wierd, My larger speakers do sound bigger, but its so much more fun listening to my Mirage M460, circa 1990's, which sound smaller but more interesting. It is probably psychological.
Question: Do you have a Spotify playlist that's public? The music on your videos is great (btw, just bought the t5vs on your recommendation!)
i always watch start to finish
Really I watch all the way through each time
Love your channel and love your cat. Have 3 myself. Cats that is.
Hey Z, I plan on getting some Focal Shape 50's. Would love to send them your way for a review!
ur giving me jack black energy and I need more
getting to the point lil faster is never a bad ida ..1.5 speed was helpful :)
Oofff!!!
First off bro I looove your videos I always watch the whole video. I just have one question. How do you hook up your power monitors in the living room with a power amp when you do your test. I see you have the power monitors but each monitor has it's on power amp receiver. Please let me know the amps you are using please. Thanks!
So, the Adams are not near field monitors? Correct? I would love to inspect your setup! Cause there’s a reason they are called near field monitors: they lose when asked to project. So how does Adam do it? Also, would you do Rockit Tens? Love your vids. Thanks bro!
I watch all the way through. Also, every video in your living room I ask: Where do I get that Cowboy Bebop Swordfish mural?
i watch majority of your videos, i watched the Swans X Edifier like 6 times, and decided on the Swan M200MKiii +
