The nice thing about Suzuki is they build a nice no frills, affordable bike. They aren't the fanciest, but they are decent, reliable, usually comfortable, and fun to ride. The headlights aren't my favorite, but I can live with them.

Well done Suzuki! Some of us know this bike contains one of the most legendary 1L four cylinder engines ever made. K5-K8 long-stroke burly beast. Yes in stock form most everything these days is kind of finicky and muted thanks to emissions regs pushing air-fuel ratios dangerously lean. But this K5 engine really snarls with a unique note when you pop on a catless full pipe, uncork the ECU and see what it's made of. It's reliable as a stone axe. It's been turbocharged, modified, bore/stroked, nitrous oxided, and tuned within an inch of its life and it holds up. Moore Mafia pushed one to 700 horsepower for dragracing. Some of us like to sling a leg over a powerful naked bike, know it's always going to start, provide plenty of poke, feel solid and well built, know there's dealership support all over the place, and not look at valves or shims for over 20,000 miles. It's going to shift, run, behave reliably all of the time. Sometimes the "new hotness" from Italy or Bavaria or Austria just drives up the dollar value into crazy levels of stupid and how many more percentage points of the motorcycle experience do they provide for double the price? Props for going to 5-gallon tank. One thing I would have really liked, a cruise control.
I got a 2016 Triton Blue naked GSXS. Still love it 5 years later. All the performance you need for street bike as well as comfort and reliability. Got mine brand new for $8500 otd. It ain't a fashion model, but its a fantastic motorcycle for the price. Once you take the throttle restrictions out of the ECU, it rips on top. From 8k to 11.5 it pulls stupid hard yet has ample torque everywhere. The stock front pads were Brembos and had rather soft initial bite. A set of SBS RS brake pads transformed the front brake. Strong and progressive. Bites as hard as you want but not grabby. I have EBC HH's on my other bike, and find the SBS pads to be stronger, smoother and quieter.

I once owned a 1981 model GSX750 in 1994 and was my first inline 4 the bike the shop sold it to me for $250 as it would start rev to the moon and not go with a leg over it... long story short it was a drag engine that had been ported non standard cams and the clutch had been beefed up but some one had put the old standard carburetors back on? it was way too lean. I finally got it run great with 1.8mm! main gets and my god it was quick up to 180kph nothing matched it out of a green light... it made a fool of many and even my mates YZF1000 till about 3rd gear then everyone would scream past still in 1st... lol I had that bike for years and it never gave me any trouble for all the work it did unlike my RZ 250 or the XR 350.
Great review, great rider, best bang for your buck street fighter naked bike. The headlight looks like a Transformer ( I liked it). Suzuki is the best value bike, great performance and reliable.
Am I the only one who at first glance thought this was a KTM 1290R with a Katana headlight slapped on and a blue paint job? Actually saying that.. sounds kinda cool. Well played Suzuki..
You make a very persuasive argument. Change the brake pads and narrower bars for easier traffic filtering conditions (that’s legal where I live). Also put a decent exhaust can on it with a bit of style, save weight, nothing too loud. Finally an after market bikini fairing for a bit of wind/ rain protection. Double headlight setup is stylish, what more do you need? Very good review.👍🏽
Going on 3 years with my gsxr750...I've done a few 225 mile trips with no issues.. I will upgrade when a new model comes out or I might upgrade to a gsxr1000r
I was at the peak of my riding they’re in the K5… Absolutely legendary hands-down Suzuki is repping OG streetfighters and I love it… Because you’re exactly right… It’s been a little less on the stock bike… And then go to town on the mods!!!
Stellar! Love your channel, such a pleasant change from all the other ones. Earthy. I'd call you guys earthy. Keep it up. I've been, surprisingly, more excited about this bike simply because its in that goldilocks zone of power, price and equipment. And its a suzuki, so maintenance will be a no brainer.
I own a DRZ400E and GSXR 750 and both bikes have not been changed by Suzuki for years. Both are as reliable as your Mum and are as solid as a tank. Ys, I could buy a new fandangled Euro bike but don't think that I could deal with the impending problems.
The OEM Dunlop D214’s require a considerable amount of rider input to initiate steering yet, they’re extremely confident mid corner. Too bad my set lasted only 2600 miles at my road pace. The D214’s are not great in wet conditions either. The D214’s are a full lb lighter in rotating mass yet….I had quicker steering changes with the different tires listed below (Dunlop Roadsmart III’s)….I also experienced less unintended aggressive wheelie’s with the RS III’s. So, after two sets of OEM D214’s, the Dunlop Roadsmart III’s require considerably less input for direction changes. The wet weather performance is superior to the D214’s yet, they don’t seem as confident at full lean under acceleration. The RS III’s easily last 300% the mileage of the D214’s yet, take a tad longer to break in. (Due to the triple compound construction)
suzuki are the only manufacturer that understands what a motorcycle should be, obtainable, reliable, efficient, interesting and potentially lethal. Anyone can make a perfect bike for 30k, but do it for 10.
Question for Chris. Would you say you could use this every day in comfort then turn up for the odd trackday and have a fun time on it? I'm seriously thinking of buying one of these as I'm getting too old for sport bikes on the road but I love track days. I'm wanting something that'll do both road and be capable on track.
Almost all naked bikes are ugly these days. Suzuki just follows status quo on styling. It’s got a great engine and the bike is a good bang for your buck. Plus, it’ll be way more reliable and cheaper to maintain than Aprilia, Ducati, KTM, MV Augusta and Triumph. I agree with others. You’re definitely one of the best reviewers at Bike World.
It's very easy to recommend a 20k bike, when it's not your money buying it. However if the reviewer has a shed full of ebay specials... It's why the reviews that Chris does are so balanced. For me when watching a test of a bike, ask yourself what bike(s) has that person bought with there own money. The other person I listen to and have bought bikes based on the reviews is Zack Courts over in the states. XSR900 and now a 959.
the one it has its more than enough, you buy a bike to ride it not to stay with your eyes in TFT to setup your shit while riding distracting you from the road.
Great review as always! I have a question: for that price would you prefer the more powerful engine of this Suzuki or the lighter/better breaking Duke 890r or Street Triple RS?
I like Chris reviews because he takes the bike for what it is. Not what should be and how other 5000 POUNDS + bikes are better,... Great video.

I really REALLY like the styling. Its the best thing suzuki put out since the new SV650
I had a 2016. It was a great bike that did everything well. It just didn't make my nuts tighten when I looked at it.
yew just bought a Tuono as well
Nobody reviews like Chris. His humor is fascinating 😁 color TFT would've been nice Suzuki as it is pretty standard now in 2021.
Well played Suzuki..
yes, a wannabe Superduke
Good to see you on my local roads. That gravel pit in the bomb hole is a nightmare!
Thank you so much for the review. Such a practical (!?) review!! 🥰🤩
In portugal this has the same price as the Street Triple RS...witch is best to hit the bends on a mountain road?
9:37 was my favourite! Top quality review Chris

The Top End .... K5 😍😍😍
Hope you enjoyed my fave roads.... recognise them from any angle👍 Bike looks a peach and another cracking review, thanks for sharing 🙂🏍️👍

👌🏻 *Great video!*
Doh! I'm blaming lockdown for a lack of beer research!
when a lot of channel got their ace host now, makes me happy. another nice review Chris!
I think Suzuki makes some of the best bikes in the world
If Suzuki update the 750 to look like the thou, I'll buy it. Great video!
I like this bike. I like this man. Simples
That one hand wheelie is sick!!!
Hey they do make awesome bikes, perfect for what they are made for, Updating their bikes equals more money! The secret to Suzuki's success
The best reviewer in my humble opinion...
Yeah, at 11k it's giving you what you'll be doing 90% of the time with the competition bike anyways
A GSX-R1000 headlight would have looked so good on this bike!
Great review, honest, informative and fun. Good stuff.
your the first reviewer that I've seen that stands the bike up on its rear tire. Looked real easy to do also!
Here just for Mr Northover! Great review as always!
I hope they restyle the faired version of this bike as well and turn it into an Ninja 1000 SX competitor...
Was just about to say. If Suzuki came out with a faired version of this, I would save up for it in a heartbeat.
Top review again 👍 A good, fun bike that doesn't cost an arm and a leg, not bad looking either.
I own a DRZ400E and GSXR 750 and both bikes have not been changed by Suzuki for years. Both are as reliable as your Mum and are as solid as a tank. Ys, I could buy a new fandangled Euro bike but don't think that I could deal with the impending problems.
I want it. I want it bad. And because Chris did the video I'm 100% sure I getting it.
The only styling part on this bike I don't like is the headlight. Other than that I love it!! 😍
It is really nice to see Chris doing the review !
suzuki are the only manufacturer that understands what a motorcycle should be, obtainable, reliable, efficient, interesting and potentially lethal.
WOOOOOOOW AWESOME AMAZING FANTASTIC 💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯
Chris your reviews are best in youtube !! 👍
Cheers!
I'm seriously considering one of these as a commuter bike atm....
It is jet fighter design. Love suzuki
This guy knows how to do a bike review! Big thumbs up!
If I wanted a litre inline four, this would be it. Mainly down to the engine.
The Gsxs needs a modern TFT!!
the one it has its more than enough, you buy a bike to ride it not to stay with your eyes in TFT to setup your shit while riding distracting you from the road.
Great honest review, I have the old one and love it !
The gray one is ausome😍
Really nice video, i like your enthusiasm for riding a bike
Great review as always! I have a question: for that price would you prefer the more powerful engine of this Suzuki or the lighter/better breaking Duke 890r or Street Triple RS?
The KTM will blow itself up so pass on that. The triumph is a great bike but the Suzi is more flexible
I loved the puppy example.
Is the petrol tank made of metal or plastic?
