- The 2021 Suzuki GSX S1000 is a fantastic bike, I'd maybe even go as far as to say it's the best bike of 2021, this thing is AWESOME fun! The GSX-S1000 is a derivative of it's fully gowned GSX-R1000 but with some tweaks here and there which give it an entirely different look and feel, I genuinely LOVE this bike!
The 2021 Suzuki GSX S1000 price can't be sniffed at either, retailing at a tempting £10,999 it's not quite a budget bike, but at that price it's certainly raising eyebrows and tempting pockets.
☑️Bemoto Insurance -
2021 GSX-S1000 = £288.66 - BeMoto Carbon Cover (Includes Free Legal Expenses Insurance Up To £100k)
£328.66 - BeMoto Titanium Cover (Includes 90 Day UK+EU Touring Cover, Full UK+EU Breakdown Inc Homestart, £1500 Helmet & Leather Cover, £15k Personal Accident, £100k Legal Expenses Insurance)
The above prices are based on an excess of £500 for a married rider aged 37, living in NR11 postcode area, with a full bike licence and one SP30 conviction. No accidents/claims, 5 years NCD, 3000 miles pa, employed as a teacher (white collar job). Data Tag ('Master Scheme') factory fitted immobiliser and a Tracker (BikeTrac, Datatool). Suzuki make bikes that are true to what a motorcycle should be. Affordable, reliable, fun, interesting and potentially dangerous.
+efficient
How a dangerous bike makes it a "should be motorcycle"?
@@alexgrazie93 because they go well
Dangerous! Only in the wrong hands . I’ve owned a Katana with the same chassis and engine ,great bike and exciting to ride. Dangerous what kind of rider are you?!!
@@Achilles22 im speaking generally of all motorcycles not specifically your bike sorry to hurt your feelings
It's great to have a review where someone is enthusiastic about a Suzuki.... I bet if they stuck £5k on the price other reviewers would rave about it....
I personally think the bike looks amazing. The headlight reminds me of KTM styling. I ordered and already paid for a 2022 Sparkle black model. Super excited for it to come in.
Awesome 👏👍
Yep. I love the headlight on this and the overall styling. The front end is very Superduke-esque with the angle of the headlight. I am really liking this bike especially with the reliability of Suzuki behind it (unfortunately unlike KTM)
same i get mine tomorrow!
So, what's your impressions after 1 year?
After i demoed a Pan America it was game over. I bought it on the spot and got rid of the GS. Pan am is just incredible in every way.
Great bike , had mine for two years now ,fabulous alrounder ! I fitted Puig touring screen and blade SW motec panniers which make it a perfect tourer
preferred even for engine block only solid as a rock and the transmission suzuki has always done it very well
I collect my 2021 GSXS 1000 on Friday. Blue and silver. Love this video, cracking job.
I was visiting family in Fife and rented one of these to check out the roads with my BiL. I totally agree with your assessment. An awesome bike, easy to ride and very responsive. My BiL was on his GSX 1000R and i kept up with him fine. The riding position is perfect for me. The scenery along the cast up there was a great bonus...
Just bought a black one, picking it up in the next 10 days or so! Can’t wait after seeing your review of it!! Looks so much fun! Thank you sir!!👍🏻🤘🏻
I love my 2019 gsxs1000f 1 year and 6100miles later
This is by far the most accurate review of a massively underrated motorcycle!
I have one and it has done several thousand miles touring and scratching !
I have left many bmw s1000s in my wake
Great bike excellent video 👍👍
Nice review. I really like this bike. Got to be one of the best value bikes out there at the moment. The specs don't really grab you but as an affordable all round package, it's fantastic imo. I think over time people will come to appreciate it much more than they do currently, especially when Suzuki inevitably start discounting them to 10k which is middleweight money!
Just popped down to see Nick and the legendary team at John's of Romford for a test ride based off this review . What an amazing bike! Thanks for the excellent review, had to get one! 👍
Great colour too. Makes it look like a quality product. I think its a good looking bike.
I totally get your enthusiasm for this bike.
Thanks for posting this review mate.
This is my first ever time watching a TP1 review, love it! LIked and subscribed, thanks!
Thanks Robert, welcome to the channel bud 👍
Wonderfull review. Really enjoyed my time with you and your coverage of this Suzuki GSX-S1000.
Thanks very much 👍
A great review Teapot . I am a massive suzuki fan. With a couple of olduns in the garage. I reckon there is room for 1 more now 👍👍
I just traded my Indian Scout Bobber for a 2021 GSXS1000F. Best bike I’ve ridden out of 48 this year.
Literally cannot believe how few people give a shit about this bike. It makes me feel like there’s few real bikers left out there and just a lot of people chasing only the best of something on paper specs.
That's exactly the tragedy.
Like buying a red ducati, image first performance second
been looking to get one all year. Cant find one within 700 miles and the dealers around me can't/wont order one for me.
Best review i have seen yet! Great work 👍🏼
Thanks very much Luke 👍
Everything you said in this review is 100% true. Not long after seeing this review I just got that bike , same colour. What a machine 😍. Brilliant content as always👍👍 big thumbs up from.northern ireland !
Thanks Jacek, glad you’re enjoying the bike 👍
Well, as an owner of a 2019 GSXS1000, I like the review. I love my bike, even though I think the suspension sucks. The Wilbers 641 helps a little, although many on the GSXS forum think it helps a LOT. Also, the seat gets tiresome after 1/2 hour. A Russell daylong fixed that. Woolich is the bomb to be able to flash it and get rid of the fuel decel cutoff to mostly fix the snatchy throttle. M4 4-2-1 exhaust helps get rid of the midrange dip around 5400 RPM, and has the 18mm bung for a wideband O2 sensor to autotune with Woolich. Spot on with the midrange torque not needing to wind the engine to have fun. Getting 41 MPG commuting in the states with 87 octane (given by R+M/2, I think the equivalent of your 95 RON).
Lovely review, TP. Suzuki's are so underrated. Just not fashionable, like most Japanese bikes. Took out a Katana - same bike as GSX S1000, but smaller tank. Fabulous bike, just no range. I think they've nailed it with this one. Can't wait for the touring version...S1000T coming out soon. Cheers.
Katana is thé best
I have the 2016 model, it’s really underrated & cheap to run. Unfortunately they won’t be bringing in the 2021 model in Singapore. So I’ll have to up my game…. With the HAYABUSA .
Good news about 1000T, I hope they don’t make it same as 1000F, by adding more plastic! This bike just needs a tall touring windshield, handlebar Risers and touring seat. The current 1000F are sitting at dealerships with big discounts, not popular, there is not much comfort, little wind protection, hard seating and lots of plastic to make it heavy.
Great review TPOne…I really like this bike, it would look good in the garage next to my Vstrom1000. Can’t go wrong with Suzuki.
Wow...... looks like a belter of a bike! I don't mind the headlight either.... cant see it when you're riding it anyway 😆 crackin review 👍
Phenomenal review and bloody enjoyed it. I had a 15 plate 1000F model for over 3 years and loved it but as much as I did love it I loved to hear that iconic engine scream and when I saw the speeds involved I decided to make a switch to a Ducati monster, this new 1000S seems to have a better handle on the jerky throttle that my older model suffered with but with the rumours of the T model coning along id seriously consider going back to suzuki in a few years. Cracking review Bruce!
Brilliant review I really like this bike I think it looks and sounds great, not 100% on the headlights but I could live with it thanks for sharing 👍
I've owned the first model and loved everything about it, even the snatchy throttle. It takes a while to adapt but it made me a better rider. When this new model came out I wasn't keen on it untill I did see it in real life. Next week I'm going to do a testride on one and maybe giving myself an early 40th birthday present.
Saw one at the local dealer and they look better in the flesh than in pics and prefer the grey paint.
Bargain of a bike 👌
Haven't seen one in the flesh but it's on my shortlist for taking a good look at before next summer. I think the grey looks bloody awful though. The blue is the one I'm lusting after.
@@Jooeffoh The black one is quickest. ; )
Just seen this video,,i bought one 5 months ago,its brilliant.
Just been round spain on mine, choose to take over a gs1250,wondering if i took right bike.
Yes is answer, round the mountain rds 3rd gear done everything .
Its only downfall is luggage capacity or lack of.
Commuting daily 30 miles its a joy, actually good on fuel untill you get it reving up over 7000 revs.
Midrange power is spot on as well.A small fairing would be great over 70mph.
Great vid and does the bike some justice which it deserves.
A mode is great ,lot more power especially higher up the rev range.
B mode is also enough for most. Intake sound is a complete joy to listen to,ive done away with the end can and sounds much deeper.
Thanks for posting up the vid.
I think the Suzuki is a very underrated bike , I think this will be a brilliant bike for the UK. I would like to ride the new GSX S1000 and new BMW S1000R back to back. I test rode the new S1000R and really enjoyed the Bike. Great review Bruce.
Brilliant review 😉
I got my gsxs from John's and they were really good. Seriously considering this bike👊
you nailed it really enjoy your test ride m8
Thanks Paul 👍
Great fun review I’ve just bought the final edition GSX S750 the only thing I’ve found so far with it being a old model is the headlight on dip is restrictive I’ve changed the bulb now hopefully will improve the new GSX S1000 could be my next purchase
I’m glad you like it. I have the 2020 GSXS 1000 F and I’ve really enjoyed it. Reliability is up there above some of the non Japanese bikes. This bike is great for spirited touring. First thing I did was ditch those awful mirrors. Get a nice handle bar end mirror like CRG. Good to go.
Hi, I've just got a 2018 f. Great bike. Which mirrors did you get, and do you like them? Any issues? I'm asking ad I may change mine too. Cheers, Glenn.
Great review. I'll buy this for sure. It's 9200 pounds in Australia!
Thanks Bruce, your review, together with a few others...has certainly tipped the balance for me...I think a the GSX S1000 would suit me well...living overseas with mostly 'no-rules' road users, one has to be extra extra careful with a more powerful bike. But hey, just because you CAN go fast, doesn't mean you can't ride 'sensibly' most of the time eh? By the way, I love your life mantra, 'Live your Life'. I now have adopted it for myself. Many thanks :)
Nice one Bruce, much needed bit of Friday evening entertainment. LYL 👍
Cheers Trev 👍
I've dismissed Suzuki's for a while but I've got to be honest. This seems amazing not only for the money but just in the 1000cc Naked category.
I've got a 2010 675 Street Triple at the moment and as much as I love it, it's not without its quirks.
I may have to look at this as the next bike.
Brilliant review.
Great video Suzuki just keeps refining their existing platform. Great engine reliable and fast and a good value for the money.
Suzuki seem to have nailed the euro 5 gubbins, less valve overlap giving better torque curve and sweet f.i. The bike reminded me of my gsxr1000k5 sound wise, rorty, purposeful note...very nicely done TPO 👍🙂
I'm still unsure on the stacked lights but I do like it in the blue paint preferably over the black or grey.. enjoyed watching your review on it ✋🙂🫖1
Hi Mr. Teapot, this is the first time I’ve watched one of your videos and I’ve become a subscriber by the end of it. Keep up the enthusiasm! 👍👍
Hi Niel,
Thanks very much bud, welcome to the channel 👍
Bought one last month and love it! Had a K1 GSXR back in the day, but this has the grunt and comfort that lacked, with the top end rush when you get past 8 grand! 3rd gear power wheelie off a little bump, no probs! Pro Sport GP slash exhaust and sounds as good as it looks… great review fella👍
G'day Bruce. Great review as per usual mate. Just waiting on this bike to arrive in Australia. Like yourself, I'm certainly starting to evolve into a big fat lump, so your positive comments about the ergonomics are reassuring. My Vstrom 1000 covers the touring duties, but I need a bike for the fun days. As soon as my Suzi dealer gets hold of one I will take it out for a spin and probaly buy it. Suzuki's are just so bloody reliable and utterly affordable. Woohah!!!
Ha Ha, aye Suzuki’s are just reliable machines that do the job and don’t make much of a song and dance about what they can do.
Lot of bike for the money 👍
I’ve had a sv650, gsxr1000, gsxr600, Harley dyna. And been on other bikes. But I think this one will be my next bike soon. It just seems right
I’ve wanted one of these since the original in 2016. I think it’s finally time I buy one. It’s still the best performance value out there that’s real world useable.
Totally agree on the wing mirrors with the 2 nuts. I’ve just been adjusting mine on my Tiger 1200 and they are a expletive inducing nightmare 🤣
Put some thread lock on!
Had one out today absolutely brilliant bike, so ended up buying it, get it next week, what a bike sounds brilliant also
👍Quality review on a great bike.
Johns of Romford are a top dealership, but surely someone in Suzuki marketing must know you went round the world on a GSXR1000 and should be giving you long term loan bikes.
If y’all didn’t know, I’m pretty sure this bike has the same engine as the special edition 2020 Suzuki katana. I love mine.
Suzuki are the kind of bike that do the job, has a resonable price, for bang for your bucks are one of the best, look good, the only reason we don't see more about is the fact that nobody rememer that they exist!
Good review Bruce. I like this 1.
Best review I've seen on this bike can't make my mind up between this and the New Yamaha Mt 09 SP but love my Suzuki's
Save some cash my test was awesome i love this bike … really great 👍🏻
Great review video!
Thanks bud 👍
I like it and would like one ,the headlight I think looked better on the older model but that wouldn't stop me having one, a similar price to a 765 street so it is a lot for the money great review cheer T/pot : )
I agree 100% after my test ride, didn’t want to give it back, not as insane as the speed triple rs 1200 but very user friendly.
Doesn’t feel like the specs , feels faster, not that I’m an expert.
After the buzzy s1000r this was an absolute joy.
Easy to ride, comfy, sounds great and ample grunt.
But you knew all this didn’t you Mr Teapot
I have the GSX-S1000GT Plus on order and can't wait. It's the perfect bike for someone who is too "old" for sportbikes, but wants great performance, wind protection, and touring ability. Nothing compares anywhere near the price other than the Ninja 1000SX, but I'm done with black and it's 10hp down. I think the next bike up price wise would be the Tuono base model, but the factory luggage looks stupid.
Excellent review Teapot, on a bike supplied by the fabulous team at Johns of Romford (I have bought 2 bikes from them) Excellent dealership - Ill book a demo on it next week
I have a 2020 GSXS 750 and she's a screamer, 11k everyday. Love that 1000 though.
Sounds great even with that standard can on and I love it In that grey
Just did my Bike Safe today and I've suddenly noticed that you definitely ride like a police rider, not in a bad way at all. You're right over from position 1 to position 3 for the curves, where as most people just stay in position 2 most of the time.
You were proper gushing over that bike, the tractor might of been getting jealous. It sounds epic, even with the stock can.
Genuinely mate it is a fantastic bike👍
First visit to your channel after watch Lamb chops & yourself doing the pasty tour. Good review & witty comments.
Think you love that bike.😂
Ha Ha cheers Gordon 👍
@@teapotone didn't have my specs on when I wrote that. 👍
Gr8 review!
Thanks Alan 👍
Nice video! I'm considering either this or an MT10. Have you ridden the MT10? What's it like in comparison to the GSXS?
I am so pleased to see you are in a better place these days, doing what you love and bringing joy to us your subscribers. The shit you went though actually gave you the opportunity to do what you were meant for.
You should thank that tw*t that made this happen. I hope they get some karma and continue with the sad life they have. Love ya
Thanks bud 👍
I have a 2024 Gsx-s1000 Red and Silver. Still breaking it in. I really like the bike. Can’t wait until the break in period is over so I can really test it out.
Not sure if you’ve had the BMW S1000R out Bruce but if you have how would you compare them. Great review as always 👍
Nice review 🙂 waiting to arrive here in Philippines... So we can see it personally 😊
Dangerously tempting bike! Especially in that grey colour...hmm...time for a new bike? Thank you mr TeapotOne!
Cheers John - honestly mate, it is one HELL of a bike for the money👍👏
Great review of bike Bruce getting the 2022 had got test ride on the GSXS 1000gt got a lot of wind noise
Thanks Ivan,
I preferred the standard GSXS to the GT too - not done the review vid of the GT but it’s coming before Crimbo 👍
I have the 2019 gsxs750 and it has the same issue with the mirrors.. I had to tighten it all the time, and eventually just replaced them.
Hello, looks good! Fantastic video as always!
Thanks Murt, hope the sidecar season is doing well bud 👍
@@teapotone They won the championship! Hopefully see you in the IOM next year. I'm going to be working with some of the teams!
Great news, well done bud and congrats to you and the team 👍
Love the look of this one.
great review - don't you worry about animals coming out of hedges though, i had that once. perhaps it looks faster on the video. can you say what the bike was before this one please, the price of this one is just a bit too rich. came out in 2015, what was the predecessor please?
Definitely a bike I'd consider buying, the dream would be a Tuono V4 but that'd be one I could rationalise a bit easier :D Great review as always Bruce!
Thanks bud - the Tuono is my heart crush, but I made the mistake of buying one and it was nothing but grief to live with.
Doubt I’ll ever go that route again - they do look and sound amazing though… when they work 😉
@@teapotone Haha that is precisely why I haven't bought one 😂 My CBF might be a hell of a lot less exciting but it's quick enough and actually seems to enjoy mileage 😂
@@teapotone i test rode both the tuono 1100, gsx s 1000 (2019) and bmw s1000 - i preferred the suzuki.
Of course a v4 sounds a bit nicer than an inline4 (but I already have a vfr) and the suzuki screamed at high rev and you could take of in 6th gear... turns on a dime - lovely bike!
Definitely deserve a 👍 'like'
I have seen few used for around 8 k in UK. Its fantastic value
great review brother :)
Cheers Craig 👍
Enjoyed the review Teapot, thanks. I'm in the market for a bigger bike and the GSX S1000 is on my list. The 750 too for a bargain deal. Here's the thing. Where I live down under in NZ the following range of bikes are only 500 pounds apart from cheapest to most expensive. In price order; MT09SP, Z900, Street Triple R and GSX S1000. So really nothing in it at all. Which would you park in your garage for the foreseeable future? Thanks again.
The Street Triple and GSX-S would be my preferred two there, the Triumph probably has more character but a smaller engine - but it’s by no means an underpowered bike.
Think I’d go with the Speedy if you’re a normal sized person, but if you’re on the larger side maybe the Suzuki will give you a bit more comfort.
Both great rising bikes 👍
I just to get one for myself,,it just amazing.
I wonder how it compares to a stage 3 tuned mk1 1200 Bandit? I'm intrigued!
Great content as always TP, cheers.
£1500 and it'll be north of 170 bhp + k5 engine just top end work cams etc with no worries about reliability
I used to have a b6 and a b12, now have one of these. It's like a modern B12 on steroids, it is so torquey I love it!
Bruce hi got to agree with you on this one. I took a test ride on one today from Haslemere Motorcycles. Great fun...thinking about it. Mark sends his regards.
Cheers Phil, it’s genuinely a cracking bike isn’t it!
Top lads at Haslemere aren’t they 👍
I think it’s a strong case of that there’s no such thing as a bad bike anymore these days, as TMF has pointed out in his review videos.
Well, not until the next model comes out and then the journalist tell you what was wrong with the previous model. Understandably, they all want to get invited to the next press release and get bikes to test and write about.
Who is TMF? 😆🤣
@@the_mad_leprechaun He's the UA-cam version of the BBC.
@@mrcintheuk5596 Clearly I know who TMF is I was being ironic! 😆👍
@@the_mad_leprechaun Yes, I knew you were being ironic. Thanks. 👍. I was using an idiom, expressed oxymoronically. 😉👍

What do you think about the low rpm assist can’t remember you mentioning this
Great Review! You can Ride........a touch worrysome on Farm Track Roads? But great review, theybhave improved the Bike since the 2022 model with panniers in the blue. Sensational. Beat that for value and performance BMW?
That bike will boot scoot and boogie great vid and nice bike
Love the gsxs
I have a bandit 650 at the min. Want the gsxs 750 next bike
There’s no difference in power in the modes, just the delivery characteristics. Did you have the suspension in factory settings?
I like the headlight
Lovely bike. Had a test ride on one and both mirrors came loose. Not too sure about the lights. 👍
I have the '18 model. Absolutely love mine. Best road bike I've had. I'd like to try this one though.
Hello, is your bike's gearing a bit longer than this year's model ? As I remarked to Mark Pulling, 5,000 RPM at 70 MPH is pretty busy for a 1000cc bike.
I have the a 1000 '18 too, and love it as a commuter. Probably the longest one I've owned. Been through Yamaha's, Honda's, 1 Aprilia, 1 Ducati and plenty of Chinese crap. But this ones a keeper 👍
Just subbed after watching this vid. I've got the baby 125 and was hoping Suzuki would give the same updates to the 750 as the 1k might be too big a jump
SV is great...
@@s4m130 yeah I think that's what I'll be doing.
I cant drive one, bad eyesight, but a ride on the pillion seat would be ama7z it ng.
👍👍👍👍
I really like the looks , I may be trading in my beloved R1200R for one!
Hi, new subscriber here. Which would you chose between this, MT10 or S1000r?
The headlight reminds me of the Vorlon encounter suit from Babylon 5.
Hi Bruce
Just watched your review on the gsxs1000. I'm thinking of changing my bike. Is the Suzuki a better bike than the Honda cb1000r?
I’ve not ridden the CBR1000 actually so can’t comment on that - but the GSX-S1000 is a fantastic road bike, well worth taking for a spin to see how you get on
What’s it like compared to the KTM SDR? You loved that bike. I want a Super Duke but I’d prefer Suzuki reliability and a 19L tank
Nice bike but its a shame it does not have cornering ABS. Suzuki should have fitted an IMU. This would save the skin of a few weekend warriors. Ninja 1000SX has all these things. Suzuki has no excuse because a full IMU and safety aids are on the V Strom 1050XT.
Probably the best performance for your buck. Not a looker though from the front.
