    Such a heavily underrated bike.

I had the 2016 gsxs, awesome bike for the $ bulletproof reliability, easy to service, good build quality and that k5 motor. Never had a problem with the throttle but did add a Nitron shock and better bars, ebc hh+ pads. I looked at the mt01/S1000r but liked the fact the Suzuki was simple with little to no electronics.

  • @juniormin3454
    @juniormin3454 3 роки тому +33

Personally I prefer the K5 motor rather than the current vvt engine. I've had both L7 GSXR1000 and the current Katana, the L7 vvt engine is brilliant on power and narrower in size as a result of removing the balance shaft, but there is a lot of engine vibration and you can feel it on the handle bar. On the other hand, the K5 motor maybe 50hp less but the power delivery is super smooth and the intake howl sounds absolutely beautiful, and I think for most of the riders out there 150hp is more than enough😉

Yesssss. Put out a 1200cc 90° Vtwin with gear driven cams, high compression, and a ton of power. TL1200S, or SV1200S whatever you want to call it.

For the money it's a great machine and sounds awesome in standard trim too. I've got the previous model which has been bullet proof with that tried and tested K5 engine. Looks like I could be investing in this latest incarnation. 👍😊

Great review. Updated it enough to keep it interesting and relevant at that price point. Good all around bike with a solid but aging engine. Suzuki sticking with the tried and true k5. Budget bike for the price conscious that definitely provides solid performance with Suzuki reliability.

G'day Mr Chops. A very good video, with all the boxes ticked, I've had quite a few Suzuki's and the
transmissions are superb, no false neutrals just snick each gear and go. They didn't need a Quick
Shifter. This is a really good bike for the money.

In denmark the price diff from this to s1000r is 6900£ - so I will be taking this every day.

I completely got you when you said, 'I have a soft-spot for Suzuki'
Me too, I have a DRZ and used to have a GSX-R 600, they just have a certain character about them, hard to explain and they're so well priced.
The exotica is great, but most of us won't be able to afford or get the best out of one - nowhere near!
Also like what you said about TFT screens - WHO CARES!!! I go out for 6hrs on my bike and barely ever look at the screen. All this chat about TFT screens is bollocks lol. It's about the RIDE not the technology, leave that for the iPhone zombies 🤣
P.s. Actually considering one of these for my next bike - colour is great too, another Suzuki quality!

The new MT-09 has the small TFT screen. MT-07 and MT-10 are still LCD. All lovely bikes, and I’d happily own any of them, but for the money I still think this GSX-S1000 is very difficult to beat as a package. I was thinking Tuono 660 but the Suzuzki is nearly the same price and you get so much more, and it’s a more refined bike. The Tuono 1100, though, is a whole other conversation.

I emailed Suzuki GB about the snatchiness of my 2019 GXS S1000 and they said that they have had no complaints about that particular problem, I couldn't believe it. Everyone I had spoken to who knew of this particular bike said that the bike was great except for the snatchy throttle response. I felt really insecure on bends, even on uneven roads and riding in town trying to stick to about 30mph. Because of all these issues with the bike I traded it in and lost a lot of bloody money. While I'm sure the throttle response has been sorted I won't be getting the new model. I don't trust Suzuki because they lied to me with their response to my email that I sent to them.

@@pranjal70 the 750 motor is a very capable motor for in traffic riding. The engine gets hot but not unbearably so even on hot days. The longest I have done is 400km and it was comfortable. Unlike the MT series though it is a bit more sportier. I am 5'11" and end up a bit more hunched on the front. Would have loved the 1000 but heard reports of the snatchiness and did not even try. That, and the fact that I was graduating from a 135cc. Now though, I think I can handle the power.
All in all the 750 is a superb balanced motorcycle. Very forgiving with demonic characteristics higher up the rev range.

I’m currently riding the 2016, this has a larger 19l tank plus all the gizmos. Really underrated, I’m supposed to get something else like the Africa twin , but it just doesn’t make any sense.. The mind says Suzuki but I should try something else.

Budget comfy bike for a tall fat lad. I had the zx9r years ago that was great and comfy massive compared to today's bikes. Pegs were to high for me on the gixxer got knee pain. I have a kawasaki z1000 now great bike. Get a z1000sx if u wanting fairings quick and all day comfy. Depends in ur budget really

From what I understand the tank is larger too, which (from what I've heard) is good for around 190-miles. If true, I just found my next daily/fast touring bike.

Close your eyes and go for the new GSX-S1000, the K5 motor is a gem, much better than the 07 fireblade engine in the cb1000r

With that £3k saving over the S1kr, they could then get a good low mileage older sport bike for track fun, or as an alternative for the weekend. I couldn't even afford the £3k lol, but still have a very nice sport bike.

On these hot nakeds Chopsy needs to be in my old stomping grounds: the CA Sierras or along the CA Coast Range & Hwy 1 for testing this kind of bike. I could plot him out several good routes starting with Hwy 36 out of Red Bluff all the way to the coast, 101 south to Hwy 1 south all the way to SF with several side trips into the Coast Range. Ahhh, yes....then off to the Sierras, Bucks Lake, Mosquito Ridge, the passes......ahhhhhh.......
