I feel the only reason they're doing a countdown is because that's just how they're used to doing their list videos. Why did you show Genshin Impact while talking about over-saturation and a platform for micro-transactions? because it's insanely popular? xD Haha, I'll assume it was happenstance, and wasn't intended to be the example, since... It's actually a lot more fair than any other that I've personally played. Maybe if you have to have every character, they're a huge money sink, but if you just take what you can get, you'll get a lot, and odds are they'll be cool af unless you just have the worst luck ever. That isn't to say I'm a fan of that type of monetization, but considering I can just download and play the game for free any time, that's... not the most potent criticism and not much of a mark against it. I've never played any other Gacha game that gave me as much in-game real money currency for free, and got me as many characters without spending a dime, as that game. Gacha games are a cancer - but Genshin shows they can actually be worthwhile, and fair for the consumer. Fair if they aren't horribly addictive personalities with zero self control at least - but I can hardly hold MiHoYo responsible for THAT ailment. That game sets a new bar for quality - quite ironic that it comes out of China, a place known for lack thereof... Genshin Impact is of impeccable quality and those people who talk trash about it are actually taking issue with something else entirely, something other than whatever it is they claim they have a problem with - I notice they're ALWAYS different. More often than not, it boils down to something dumb as hell like "I don't like anime stuff" haha - never mind that it's technically not - I get it, it's the same thing - but it's also quality you won't find anywhere else. If you're one of those gamers who has put off trying Genshin Impact because of all the crap around it and it's uh... weirdo fanbase, knock it off and give it a try. They're a corporation, but MiHoYo are famously dedicated to getting opinion out of their fans and I can appreciate that. I take THEIR surveys, and almost no one else's - but I get a survey from them every couple months or so, at least... and the transformation that game has undergone is quite a thing indeed. The censorship in the game, and some design choices, are a little sad, but when your country of origin is a communist nation that acts proud of it's iron fist, well... you had probably best get used to censoring even the things that no one would ever imagine needed censoring.
About No.42, (1:35:35) Jeff Gerstmann fired for giving a bad review, this is so common these days, well not that they are fired but that the gaming media quite clearly are in the pockets of the publishers, IGN definitely comes to mind as they get 40% of they're revenue from Sony who BTW makes it very clear that reviewers won't get another review copy of their games if they don't praise their games 🤑🤮but hey this is why streamers that review games have become even.more popular... I for one stopped reading/viewing anything from gaming media yrs ago
The last of us 2 leaked itself. The original trailer with Ellie playing guitar with dead bodies in the hallways was a give away that Joel had died and was a figment of her imagination. They never showed his face when he spoke with her. Trailers give us a lot more than you realise, same goes for Spider-man 2. Venom was always going to be playable.
PC gamers never cared about the console war ;) because we've always been about brute, overwhelming force of arms. Lay waste to your enemies, and stuff. I think my first PC was built around 2004 - with the release of Half Life 2, as it happens... and I never once turned back or regretted my path ;) so that's nearly the entire duration of the console war, I've been PC'ing it up. PC Master Race indeed ;) feel free to cope ^_^ I won't stop y'all. You deserve at least to soften the blow a bit.
Yes I am joking - I've owned some consoles over the years, and actually do own a switch as well. Though, my last XBox was a 360, and my last playstation was the PS2 ... so I guess I've effectively had little to say for MOST of the Sony vs. Microsoft vs. Nintendo thingy. After that generation of consoles there wasn't much of a point to owning anything but a capable PC - because I could, through legitimate means or otherwise, play anything those consoles could with very few exceptions, and odds are I was playing it in a superior state, often with bells and whistles (post processing) the games did not initially come with - and of course mods. I couldn't go back to console if I wanted to. I have a hard enough time using only a single control scheme in most games - I want to use my analog stick AND my mouse, depending on my situation. I am indeed a spoiled SOB. No regrets. No apologies.
I almost wish this list was chronological. It would make a fascinating history of major gaming moments.

Haha, I'll assume it was happenstance, and wasn't intended to be the example, since...
Wrong. This never happened. Do you have any proof of this IGN scandal?
Hello ash
The last of us 2 leaked itself. The original trailer with Ellie playing guitar with dead bodies in the hallways was a give away that Joel had died and was a figment of her imagination. They never showed his face when he spoke with her. Trailers give us a lot more than you realise, same goes for Spider-man 2. Venom was always going to be playable.
CD Projekt Red will even go bankrupt soon because almost everyone refunded Cyberpunk
No they didn’t. Cyberpunk was very successful.
