- IT'S FINALLY HAPPENING. After 10 years of marriage we are embarking on our journey to becoming parents=) I'm SO excited, nervous, anxious and pumped for the whole adoption process and I can't wait to share! Cried through this whole video! My husband and I dealt with infertility and loss for years, our daughter came to us by adoption a year ago! A month after bringing her home I found out I was pregnant, naturally! Her sister was born in December! Our girls are 9 months apart TO THE DAY, both born on the 11th! Only God! So happy for you guys!
So extremely happy for you guys!! My mom couldnt have babies due to health problems, so they adopted me from South Korea when I was not even a year old and my brother a year later! I am so thankful to have the wonderful parents I have and I would never look at them as not being my real parents, they’ve loved, provided and guided me my whole life and I couldn’t be more grateful for my life with them!!! My heart goes out to your family and I can’t wait to watch this journey!!!
We adopted my sister from china over 10 years ago. Definitely the BEST experience of my life going to pick her up in China and meeting her officially for the first time. ♥️ Congratulations to you both! You are doing an absolutely incredible thing!!

Oh my goodness! CONGRATULATIONS on becoming future parents. And can I just say? If folks ask, "Don't you ever want to have your OWN kids?"....then please tell them that when you adopt a child, that child IS your OWN KID! :) Loving and raising a child is a beautiful thing, whether it's your biological child or not. I am sure that before the ink is dry on those adoption papers, you will already feel that your son or daughter is YOURS and was meant to be! Super excited for you two!

It’s hard to watch this. As someone who is adopted I shake my head at people who want someone with no special needs and want a girl and they want Thailand like picking a specific breed of dog. As someone who was in the foster system my foster parents decided to adopt me and my sister and I just hope that you will take whatever they have because everyone deserves a chance and people who choose to have a biological child they don’t get to pick all of these things and I don’t think that people who want to adopt should have a choice either. It’s why there is so much youth in care because everyone wants a puppy right no one wants to give someone who is older a chance. Im also glad my parents never changed our names because it was who we were. Maybe I misinterpreted what you two were saying and I hope I was. Be excited but also know that there are going to be harder challenges with adopting a child then having your own. I say that through personal experience and listening to my parents stories who fostered for over 20 years.I’m glad you shared your story but expect opinions and comments especially from those who have been the person adopted or have adopted in the past. Myka stauffer here on UA-cam just adopted a little boy from China with her husband she might be able to share her experience with you and dan as well.

I was adopted from Guatemala and I couldn’t be more thankful for the life I’ve been given. My parents got my picture in April when I was born and they were able to get me in December so the timeline definitely goes faster than expected. Good luck to you both!
My parents adopted me from Russia and the whole process was 9 months. Miracles do happen. So amazing you guys are doing this!

You don't need to give birth to become a mother. And not everyone has a big heart enough to adopt someone else baby and give them a family. Such a great decisions

I babysit a little girl adopted from China, and she is the sweetest brightest little soul! Her parents are really good about incorporating Chinese culture wherever they can, and plan to visit China often as she gets older. Good luck!! You’ll be great :)

Congratulations from a fellow adoptive Momma! We have adopted 3 from foster care in Arizona. ❤️
They are currently 4,3, and 2. They are not biological siblings. We fostered for nearly 5 years and had 15 children before we closed our license.
Yes! We fostered all ages and it is much harder for kids who have been in multiple homes. Even at this young, some of them have been in other homes prior to coming to us.
Thank you for not ignoring the needy in your own country.
You guys should be aware that you are spreading false information on adopting domestically. Once an adoption is finalized, the biological parent has no legal right to their child. The adoptive parents are the only parents recognized by law. You are mixing up the birth mother's right to reclaim, but not all cases of adoption will have that and they certainly don't extend years. It's impossible that your friends would have had their adopted kids for four years and have them taken away due to a claim from the biological mother. They must have been foster kids.
If you use your audience on UA-cam for anything, please don't spread mistaken information that is only based on anecdotal stories. You might want to learn about what the domestic adoption laws are before making such outrageous comments.

American adoption will not take away a child as long as the adoption is final. The only time a child will ever go back to birth parents is if they are in the foster care system and the birth parent proves that they are fit to be a parent. Most times when a “crazy” birth parent is involved is when the child is in the foster care system and has been adopted in the same town that the parent resides. That being said, adoption through foster care is hard, I know this first hand. If you are looking to adopt domestically, go through an agency where mothers can CHOOSE you! It can be as big of a blessing as choosing your child internationally.
I'm adopted and love hearing that adoption is the way that someone has decided to expand their family. I hope to be able to do the same when I get older (only 22 and still trying to figure out life). -MoMo

As someone who has been personally touched by International adoption, you have no idea how big of a blessing you are for choosing it. I was adopted from India when I was 18 months old. My life has been so richly blessed by being adopted into a loving Christian household where I was fiercely loved and wanted. This is NOT an easy process, but it’s more than worth it. I thank God every day for putting it on my mom and dads hearts to adopt. God saved me from a life where I could’ve been easily sold into human trafficking. I’m sure this goes without saying, but I’m already praying for you and your future child. I’m super excited to watch this process unfold for you and I’m so happy for you! 💕

I’m adopted from China most likely because of the one child policy they had at then time I was born. As well as because I was a girl and they often wanted the family name to be carried on. I am so grateful for the life I am living now. My boyfriend of 4+ years is also adopted but it was state adoption. We have two completely different adoption stories and situations. So any type of adoption is life changing and I think it’s so great people are so open to adoption. As well as for people to be able to share their experience a lot more to open the idea up to so many others. 💕

Thank you so much for posting this video! Recently I've decided that when I'm 25 I want to start the process on getting all the paper work done to adopt kids. I've heard that it takes a while for it to happen and after hearing you say around three years I definitely want to know as much as I can. Also I love how you pointed out reasons on why you want to adopt! I feel more confident with this choice. Even though I'm only 19 I've dreamed on having a big family full of children that I've adopted! I'm definitely subscribing to your channel, both of you seem so humble and genuine about this. I'm cheering you on you're journey on being a parent! Also I would love to see more videos breaking down the adoption process (where to look to sign up, different programs to choose from, do we need to take classes?) Please share anything that you're willing to share. What does the paperwork entail? My oldest daughter found out last year that she most likely won't be able to have children of her own and if she did get pregnant she couldn't carry past 4 months (because of her uterus). My heart broke for her when I was with her that day at the drs. I know she'd be a fabulous momma one day and that she's love to adopt when the time is right. Hi nikki! I’ve been watching your videos for so long and it absolutely filled my heart to hear you are adopting! I too am adopted from China and my parents went through holt international as well to get my sister and I. I was adopted in 1996 and my sister was adopted in 2003. Its crazy to hear how adoption has changed because it was a lot easier for parents to adopt in the late 90’s/early 2000’s. Now a days its a lot harder and I heard its even harder for single moms or dads to adopt bc back then they were allowed to. Its crazy how things have changed but also so incredibly beautiful to know that adoption isn’t as taboo as it was years and years ago. Also i was on the verge of tears when u said people from China are adopting within their own country! It just makes me so happy to hear u are on your way to a family and I only wish and pray the process will go as smoothly as possible. You are about to give a child a family, a home, tremendous love and support. Adoption is a blessing and I am so very thankful to have gotten that in my life❤️

My family has always had kids who were in the foster system or whose parents sign over temporary guardianship for a time. It's going to happen again. We're getting two boys soon. Its hard. Especially when they go back to their family.

I’ve always felt called to adopt and I’ve never really felt an urge to carry my own child. Sometimes I feel like that is frowned upon, and even bringing up the issue of overpopulation can cause people to get their panties in a bundle.
