Louis is trying real hard to tell Joe in the most polite way that nobody gives a shit about his cold plunges and saunas. Most people can’t relate to that. But Joe is so out of touch that it goes over his head over and over.
He kept thinking Louis was saying cold plunges don’t improve your state of mind. I see how a rich famous man would find his trips to gyms challenging, but Joe seems to think he’s going above and beyond the rest of mankind’s efforts by “taking care of his physical body”. It is possible to live as Joe prescribed, to prioritize health. But life will just be health and work. No time to slow down or rest, or be intentionally wasteful.
This reminds me of a conversation I had with a coworker a while back. He was born and raised in Nigeria but had been living in the U.S. for 10 years. I asked him if he had ever taken a cold shower (I had been reading about the benefits). He replied to me "yeah almost every day of my life I used to take them." A dose of reality hit me like a train in that second.
I’ve been on the other end of that conversation many times but usually it involves a lack of toilet paper. That part doesn’t make you feel nearly as cool as the cold showers.
Louis is out of touch, if he thinks open borders for the USA is a good idea. Many people died for the United States to be as comfortable as we are. Such a shame. He is just not thinking.
Technically all you need is a bucket, some ice, and a shower if you wanna make a ghetto cold plunge. Close all the doors, turn the shower head to the highest setting and heat so it makes the most steam, and that's your sauna. Then go outside with your bucket of ice water and dump it on your head. You will get basically the same effect :D
That's what makes the very best comedians great. It's not just about timing and wit, anyone can have be funny and have good timing. It's the way they see world and how they're able to present that view to an audience. It's usually very thought-provoking and relatable.

Louis is right on here, and I applaud him for saying it. Most of what Rogan says sounds like the classic highly successful person trying to justify the disproportionate amount of success they have had. No one believes they deserve poverty, but just about everyone believes they deserve as much success as they can squeeze out of the system.
Joe is too literal to hear the wisdom of Louis. Yes, saunas and cold plunges are beneficial. But it’s not going to fulfill you. If the upset commenter could afford a sauna and ice bath today he’d just be commenting on another video tomorrow.
Louis isn't wrong, his whole point is that humans are always trying to perfect things that are fine, everything is just fine. Then we gotta drain another resource to be more fine. The point stands, humans have never had a better quality of life, and also been this unhappy.
I love this quote. It’s worded well and sort of indirectly relates to your point. “Never before has a generation so diligently recorded themselves accomplishing so little.”

Not really, he's saying that even if they have the means they're still miserable because they're detached from the essence of life that would actually bring fulfilment. @@bigol9223He's referencing equilibrium. Not policy. America is so out of equilibrium with its wealth accrual that "Every force has an equal an opposite force," so to speak. I.e., the people clawing to get in is a result of the pillaging of the world making America a shining beacon of consumerist hope in a world of destitute hopelessness. When (not if) the world finally penerates the cell membrane that is the American experiment, the world will face a major collapse of sorts as the American status quo goes beyond its means to maintain its global hegemony, all the while the home front faces absolute squalor for the bottom 3/4 to 4/5 of America at least. This would have global consequences in Europe and China, of course. But this is what happens when a massive suck on global resources, as Louie describes, goes on for so long - its effect on the external environment becomes cancerous, and the external environment responds in like. Louis seems to think there is a normal, "natural" life for humans and that we are "disconnected" from the food chain and nature now. Neither of these things are true. Humans have an unparalleled ability to manipulate their environments and this means that their "normal" is a lot different than basically any other animal on Earth. Humans are also still very, very, very connected to nature and the food chain. That's why climate change, hurricanes, droughts, and wars have such a devastating impact on us. When we fuck with the food chain or water supply, people starve or die of dehydration.
The question is about what is a happy and fulfilling life. Even if Joe is a 100% right in what he's saying it still doesn't mean that's true for everyone. Some people have it all and are still miserable, they might hit the gym everyday and eat amazing food etc etc. Perfection is kind of boring sometimes.

Seriously Joe Rogan acts like everyone can just have a cold plunge and build a sauna when 90% of people are living in studio apartments LOL

When (not if) the world finally penerates the cell membrane that is the American experiment, the world will face a major collapse of sorts as the American status quo goes beyond its means to maintain its global hegemony, all the while the home front faces absolute squalor for the bottom 3/4 to 4/5 of America at least. It's beneficial to wash my dishes and do my laundry also but if I had time to cold plunge and sauna treatment and had people doing my dishes, laundry, wiping my ars I would have time...
I agree with both of them actually. Humanity can be truly wonderful
"You're not supposed to be happy, you're not supposed to be safe, and problem is people expect that."
"It's weird thing to sequester a group of people, and keeping upping their lifespan and their lifestyle."
"It's not a good way to live, in a gated community."
That’s called subversion, from a jew. Every single time.
I like how Louis is basically talking directing to joe
Looking at art and listening to great music and being in love probably gives you as much dopamine as cold plunges.
And looking at birds after going for a run on the beach
Throw on Magazine The Light Pours Out of Me and cold plunge no thank you. Fyi Duff McKagan introduction to bass guitar.
True words 👌🏻
If patrice o neal heard this he would roast joe Rogen into an oblivion
WOW: you are not supposed to be happy, you are not supposed to be safe. Thats the problem. 100% true
Listen to Joe here and you'll get a window into why Marie Antoinettes happen over the course of history. You're getting a miniature version of what New York, LA, and most of all Washington DC are like and why they're that way.
Good point
Louis's point is everyone's a Marie Antoinette in America. The richer ones just have more money. Class warfare like this in a country where everyone has all of their needs met while people in China are literally getting killed working in horrible conditions so we can buy shit at Walmart for $3.99 is ridiculous.
99% of people living in those cities are scraping by just like everybody else
The people cant afford rent and groceries any more , “let them take ice baths” joe rogan
Hes so adove Rogans rich drifter bubble, Louis is a better deeper human being and its so clear on this talk.
In regards to the border, Louis lost me there. Having mercy on other people has to have some limit. If your boat holds 10 people and it is sinking. And my boat holds 5 and it is seaworthy, I still cannot drag all 10 of your people into my boat. Sinking both boats accomplishes nothing.
It doesn’t affect him much that the economy is a disaster. It’s fine if illegals come here but they have to add to/increase productivity instead of us being robbed for lazy people that weren’t from here in the first place. It’s not a race thing neither but everyone always pawns it off as racial inequality.
this country is ran by socialist democrats.
@@1246-g2v I read Louis is moving to Kennsington Avenue in Philadelphia so he can experience the rewarding struggle of living among fentanyl addicts. You don't want life to be TOO happy and carefree, y'know.
He didn’t meant that literally, dumbass
Louis is fucking spot on.
"you will never find your balance"
... Damn! Makes me think of what they are trying to actually achieve. No future pain by age? Yet their current pain hasn't gone away.
Louis is more Greek philosopher in this conversation and Joe is more German.
Joe is more Italian, and more Jerseytalian than like Machiavelli or Seneca style Italian
I'm saying joe took the side of efficiency and Louis took the side of philosophy and possibility

To Joes point, the nordic countries have been doing this for decades and decades so it's not limited to "rich people" at all
Are people really having trouble affording ice?
Local ymca has a sauna i use almost everyday. Cold plunge is a little harder, but take a bath or jump in a lake any time other than summer. (I'm in canada)
You gotta love when the top 1% says that everyone below them has it too good. Absolute insanity.
"everyone below them"
Louis never said he wouldn't be included in this.
Compared to many parts of the world, it's pretty damn good here is what he's saying
@@chlenz and he wants it to get worse. Not bad enough that it affects his economic bracket too much, but the rest of us NEED MORE ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS
@@bigol9223 He didn't say just enough so it wouldn't affect his economic bracket. He's speaking in universal terms. The experiment known as America has failed, is failing, and when the game finally stops, there won't be a person found sitting. In other words, Collapse.
@@bigol9223 yeah christalive has a good point. america kinda is a colossal failure. how does it feel?
I like how lois spends 5 minutes telling Joe how out of touch he is, only to spend the next few minutes proving how out of touch he is normal life too. Lol
This is like 2012 Joe talking to 2024 Joe. He used to understand things a lot more clearly. It is really hard to be that rich and powerful and still be grounded in reality.
Perfectly said
The trick is getting more people to have access to those kinds of services. Better infrastructure and higher wages that match the technology would be a start.
A carpenter friend of mine built himself an indoors sauna from some planks, insulation and an old heater. The expenses of it were below 50 dollars.
Rogans doing ice baths like he a legit professional athlete that competes frequently
😂 True
Even professional UFC fighters don't do ice baths that often.
His body has been completely destroyed. Guy has about 15 things wrong with him. Believe it or not a lot of his fans are working class guys who've beaten up their body doing real work. I promise you Joe would trade 80% of income to be as healthy as his "broke fans". The point is physical poverty is real and Joe talks about things that give people like that hope. I live in Canada icebaths are cheap. My gym has a sauna.
This is a parent who is too compassionate to tell his child that he’s stupid
Does Joe not realize that we're all broke?
Broke is when u have nothing left tbh but compared to him we don’t make a lot.. we’ll I don’t anyways
You can't afford a cold shower?
@@bigol9223 Or 3 bags of ice? I'm in Thailand where the average monthly wage is $2,700. A bunch of us did a cold plunge after a workout last week. It was like $10 for the 6 of us. Why do all these commenters think that a cold plunge costs a lot of money? Or that it is some elitist thing?
@@utubecomandante a lot of people here really love coming up with excuses for why they can't do things. They're probably imagining a flight to the arctic circle or something idk

I'm not a fan of Joe, but I think Joe is actually more sensible than Louis in this conversation.
This guy is the funniest sex offender out there! He should try his hand at comedy!
If you're working out and doing cold plunges just to get temporary endorphins that get you through the day but your overall fulfillment is low then you are not finding what you need from life. You are "trying to be optimal" as some attempt to meet for daddys approval or the worlds acceptance as 'competent' or someting shallow and lame... Grow as a human internally.
@@alyssacrypto Yes, but what Joe is saying is that physically you will feel better, thus also mentally. I think both are right in a way.
