Wasn't there some huge atmospheric event from the red mountain that ended up majorly impacting plant life on Nirn? Nate, I feel like you missed a lot of information about the Wild Hunt. There's actually a questline in ESO that takes you to Valenwood where you actually get to meet a couple Bosmer who activated the Wild Hunt. I believe one was transformed into a rather ordinary bear. Check it out!
Huh, smart-giant-elfish trolls. Who knew? lol
15:12 "This may also explain why there are no normal Frost Trolls on Solsteim," gonna have to overrule you, there, Nate, 'cuz in Skyrim you can find several Frost Trolls around the area where you get the first word of Bend Will. I've oftentimes even seen one join in the battle against the dragon there on my visits. Minor note, but great vid otherwise, Nate!
Bounus fact: most trolls can be found behind a desktop...
Absolutely no one:
Nate: troll secrets.
On the dead troll found under the bridge in Oblivion: I heard it was an easter egg referring to the old folk tale "The Three Billy Goats Gruff".
Hey, how's it going, Nate? It's guys here.
Keep up the good work, Nate! Ain't no virus gonna keep us quarantined from your videos
Destinysday yea earth belongs to the humans
You forgot to mention that trolls can be sweet sometimes, too. Just add icing.
We talking UA-cam Trolls or Skyrim Trolls? I don't like the taste of Skyrim Trolls.
@@hateprophet6093 I was thinking that the girl trolls seem fairly nice to me. By the way, female trolls are usually called "Trollops."
"Where did trolls come from?"
Well you see Nate, when a mommy and daddy troll love each other very much, or are very drunk, they do a special hug...." lol
During the early parts of my Legendary run, I had a pet Frost Troll that helped me through thick and thin until his untimely demise at one of the dogfighting dens in The Rift.
RIP Elmo, forever in my heart ;(
Nate, thank you for posting these during these times. The videos bring such joy.
Last time I was this early Alduin was born. 🐲
ok this one got me
This happened while playing yesterday I was heading to talos shrine between helgen and riverwood and came upon a camp of bandits and while attacking the group one of the members transformed (such as vampires and werewolf players transform) into a troll as one you would find in the wooded areas! I quickly killed him off and the items looted were similar to the items you find on the rest of the group such as ale, armor and even gold
Last time I was this early I was high on skooma.
I always imagined the effect of skooma like a strong liquid mixture of opiates and coke
In Oblivion there's a gift called Trollkin which provides health regeneration but 50% more damage from fire, suggesting it may be a curse as well placed on mortals.
"Trolls are mutated Wood Elves"
excuse me? 😂
Turns out a lot of inexplicable monsters are the result of the Wood Elves and their wild hunts
so, nate is a boomer. ok boomer!
Ugrak Pletkiilik You have no idea what a boomer is.
@@eltonj888 ok boomer
@@eltonj888 boomers make ridiculous clains, like the trolls are wood elves and shit! its a joke! get over it, boomer! 🤣
glad you covered this topic, I love the EasterEgg related to the Goats crossing the bridge
I think that if we were to ever get an Elder Scrolls game in Valenwood, it would be cool if we were able to interact in or observe one of these “Wild Hunts” and have it be the main problem or a DLC of the main game. Idk just a thought. 🤷
If we ever get a TES game set in Valenwood, bethesda will most likely ignore most of the pre established lore and retcon the rest like they did with cyrodiil and skyrim.
I am very impressed by how much you dig Elder Scrolls lore. I applaud you!
Ancient troll size was very similar to frost giant size, the two are pretty closely related
My theory is normal Giants= nords. Frost Giants=frost trolls=trolls
Ever since I started watching your videos I began using them as a strategy guide
Imagine running into one of those giant trolls in VR...
near solitude, if your arrow, the lighthouse and the dainty sload are in a tirangle formation, you can go underwater and find a rabbit running at the bottom. its been there for me on all of my playthroughs. If you follow it all the way till it disappears, it will lead you to being between the brinehammer and the pale imperial camp. Its not so bad for picking up barnacles, clams, fish and pearls.
Ah yes the 1 enemy blocking my path to High Hrothgar...
Thanks for always letting me know stuff about Skyrim i didn’t know even though it’s my favourite game after 8 years
Last time i was this early Nate was still doing his intro.
His intro is always around a minute long.
I now start his videos 1 minute in.
i got an ad for the movie trolls on this video, absolutely perfect
I have always wondered where you get the footage of other parts of Tamriel, lol, do Beyond Skyrim modders give you early access to their projects? Or is it something else? Someone plz let me know xd
Good point
Some are from ESO, and the others are from mods like valenwood, blackmarsh, etc.
I'm pretty sure he's just got early access
Regarding grahl: look at a St. Bernard and a teacup poodle side by side, then try to cite "disparities in appearance" again ;p
They’re op at low levels that’s one😂
Wasn't there some huge atmospheric event from the red mountain that ended up majorly impacting plant life on Nirn? Like apparently the nirnroot before was almost a completely different kind of plant but because it was so special it magically adapted to survive the change while the other plants from that time died off. Maybe that could've had an effect on these trolls? They've been around for a really long time so maybe when that happened it affected how big the trolls were too
wasn't the last wild hunt during the 5 year war in the third era?
I've been HIGHLY enjoying these videos on the beasts of skyrim Mate. TYSM
10:53 oh my god nooo, I would have been his best friend, I bet he was the scariest troll there ever was! That's frigging depressing omg :((
Edit: ik it was a joke but s a d
The Grahl!!!
I forgot about those nasties!
You know what, a deeper look at the more Obscure Creatures of the Elder Scrolls would be an awesome video... Maybe even a series!
Dear Nate:
Thank you for your service, during these trying times. (not joking)
Now, please sell me 4 Armored Trolls -- the like Dawnguards train, for home security against looters and what not. (still not joking)
Trolls are like Ents, but only a mockery of them.
6:05 *Immersive Armours Configuration Has Finished*
I have no clue what mods you're even running anymore, and how you're freezing gameplay to set up and record all these incredible environmental shots lmao
That troll note broke my ❤. I'll pay your toll bridge troll 🥺
6:50, gonna point it out for anyone confused as to what the monster on screen is, that is a Leshen from the Witcher series, and while I have never played the Witcher, the Leshen was part of a Crossover between the Witcher and Monster Hunter World halfway through last year... and it was a painis in the anus.
Thank you! I was going to ask about that if no one brought it up! That would be a pretty neat follower, though. Or a badass miniboss in Skyrim.
@@xSHURRAx Yeah, they are pretty similar to spriggans actually, just a lot bigger, a lot tougher and a lot more active in defending their turf.
It looks like a windego
I sneaked past my very first troll yesterday. First time play thru, on my way to the greybeards and was no match for this guy. So Lydia and I sneaked past after about 4 tries. It worked! I'm sure I'll go back and beat him up someday.
Next up: Five things you didn’t know about rocks in Skyrim
Lyric Alexis Five things you didn’t know about sweetrolls
5 things you didn't know about that one blade of grass by the bridge in riverwood
@@michaelszilagyi4529 I KNOW WHICH ONE YOUR TALKING ABOUT!! i do hope we get a video on it.
What? This is a video about trolls after all.
thats an anniversary edition type thing! or valentines episode
Trolls that big would have been cool as hell man.
Finding a giant sized one somewhere in the wilderness guarding its den would be amazing
11:19 *grammatical 😂 grammarical isn’t a word my friend
Finntroll references, how the hell did I ever miss those. This is why I love your videos.
7:07 Assuming this Bosmer-Troll kin theory is the answer to the Troll's origins, after each "Wild Hunt" event, how does the sole survivor reproduce/duplicate?
General Griffin My thoughts exactly!
Brute force?
Raid a small village/ nearby homestead maybe?
You are honestly the best UA-camr ever
Trolls in Norse mythology were pretty much forces of Nature, so them springing out of the ground may not be that far fetched tbh if they follow Norse mythology.
Bro, just started the video, already pumped
I See a new video stop what I'm doing and get ready to enjoy some great content
You sir, are a legend.
