After careful measuring and construction by Mr Eastern and as a gesture of appreciation,
Thank you for your kind words sir....many thanks Tony.
Hi Tony, you make it look so easy! If only it were. Enjoying your build as always. Blessings, Dave
Thanks Dave. Experience and patience helps. thank you for commenting. cheer's for now Tony.
Hello Tony from a very warm from a sunny Kidderminster, first of all I would like to say "I like Maud" and the beer train of course, but Maud is a beautiful engine. Yes now we're getting down to the what Tony does so superb, your buildings. Your building is so well thought out, and the detail, like the fountain with the tap, can only leave us open mouthed. Never apologise about the length of time it takes to create these wonderful bit of art. It's exciting to follow the process all the way through. Super update this week really good progress. As I've hinted already, we've gone away for a couple of days today we've been to the Malvern spring show its been really great, and the weather is unbelievable. Tomorrow we've got a day on the Severn valley railway, we've got a day ticket so we can get on and off to suit ourselves. Really looking forward to that. Not a lot of time tonight so will say goodnight take care both Ed and Anne xxx.
?
Good morning Eddy, i hope you have a wonderful time on the Severn valley railway. its been years since i was last there. they serve beer on their trains. we will be visiting a few preserved lines this year. we may see you on one of them soon. take care for now. best wishes Tony & Laura.
Great video Tony. Your preparation and attention to detail is seriously impressive. The water fountains are genius. Loving watching this build. Thanks for sharing. Roy.
Your very welcome Roy. see you in the episode. cheer's for now. Tony.
Always good to see Maude getting a run, beautiful loco. Station building is looking great, love the drinking fountains, very effective and an unusual feature to see modeled, spot on mate. All the best Tony, another enjoyable build series. Brian
Glad you enjoying this build Brian. its going to be a long project especially as the funny season has started. with summer approaching i wont be able to put in as much time as i would like to. as always its great to hear from you. all the best Tony.
Hi Tony, nice to see four walls up, I do like the drinks fountains, look great and make it just that bit different. That must be one of the biggest set of detailed drawings, well worth the effort. I look forward to seeing how you make the canopy detailing, that should be impressive. You are doing better than the builders here who timber framed four outer walls for the new gym and the wind blew it all down a few months ago, that before they got the OSB sheathing on which gives the building a substantial chunk of its strength. Nice to see the beer train again. All the best and hope all going well on the recovery front, Stephen
It's looking very good, Tony. Also looking forward to the rest of the buildings, your details are fantastic from your graphics, hope you and your family are well all the best to you.
Good morning John. thank you for your kind words of support. i always look forward to doing the unusual like the drink fountains. i am sure that most stations had them back in the day. until next time. cheer's Tony.
Your an absolute inspiration to us all Tony amazing work.
Really like the Vera figure too.
Thank you so much Deano. i think there are few Vera's left on E-Bay. many thanks again for commenting. cheer's for now Tony.
I love the drinks fountain, Tony.
As always the detail is important.
Windows look good too.
Thanks for a great video.
All the best. Peter.
Glad you enjoyed this weeks video Peter. at last the station is on its way. the hot weather may slow me down a bit, but we shall see. all the best Tony.
Nice to see Bob the bricky at work. I think Vera is back in time to help crack a very cold case. Here in central California it's not cold here. Next few days temperature highs from 32-34C or 90-94F. Hope you and Laura are doing well. Bill and Janet from California
Good morning Bill & Janet. I think your right about Vera coming back to crack a cold case.
Sounds like the temperature over there is getting to warm. you have to careful in those temperatures. we are just about reaching double figures. 12 degrees at the moment. take care my friends. cheer's for now Tony & Laura.
Its all in the planning Tony, another enjoyable video plus four cans of McEwans Champion beer at 7.3% makes a great Friday watch lol. I am always amazed at the little detail like the drinks fountain its always a pleasure to watch your builds Tony and looking forward to the next stage Tyne Dock station build take care regards Barry.🍻👍
Good evening Barry. thank you for commenting. we can not have enough beer or pubs on our Model railways. many thanks again my friend. cheerio Tony.
Brilliant way to make the drinks fountain. As always a Master Class.
Thanks again! George. very much appreciate the comment. cheer's for now Tony.
@@TONYNORTHEASTERN I was thinking about the lift.... might it not be more noticeable if the lift is set silghtly lower than the platform level.
I was thinking of the same George
Your investigation & preparation shows through so well with all of your builds Tony.
It certainly is amazing to watch your builds come to together, very well done!
cheers Paul
Good morning Paul. i do like to think i can put all my ideas on paper before i start the buildings and hopefully work out all the pro's and con's before we start. many thanks again. Tony.
You should be very pleased with your work indeed, masterful.
Good morning frank. thank you for your kind words. so far so good. we are off to a good start. thanks again. all the best Tony.
The drinks fountian is the cherry on top mate. Your working drawings would be a big help to save you from making things wrongly (as if). Arthur
Hi Arthur. lets hope nothing does go wrong. as it does'nt always goes to plan. take care for now Tony.
That pointy finger stick gets me everytime 😂, only you could think about making one of those
Hello Tez mate. sometime the pointy finger gets in the way. and you end up seeing my hand as well. lol. cheer's for now Tony.
Great job, Tony! For colouring shabby wallpaper you could mix watercolour-pencils colour to a sufficent match and apply it to the damaged places above the window's bow.
Looking foreward to the next steps of progress.
best wishes from Berlin, Christian
Good morning Christian. cool idea i may do something like that for the refreshments room many thanks again for commenting. Tony.
Hi Tony, do like that drinks fountain and construction method, certainly a bit different. Well worth doing the detailed plans, captured some character to the building in those, in particular look forward seeing how you make the canopy edging. Great four walls up, 8 weeks went too quickly! You did better than the framers here building the new gym some two months back, four walls up and got blown down in strong winds! Take care and hope the recovery is progressing well., all the best Stephen
Absolutely. Time does fly when your having fun. i am hoping the same doesn't happen here and the fall down. progress maybe a bit slow from now on. now that spring is here. 9 months for the build was quoted and it is still a realistic target. many thanks again Tony.
Tyne Dock is really coming together now Tony, loving all the extra detailing you're adding. Hope the "Monty Stinks" graffiti is included lol.
Hello Again my friend. i think i will be adding the monty stinks graffiti just as a homage to the photograph. cheer's again. many thanks Tony.
Great build , always improving Thanks Tony
Hello Peter. your right experience always helps the more we do our scratch builds. all the best Tony.
extraordinary detail , extraordinary skill , extraordinary layout brilliant😊
Hello Dave. your too kind sir. many thanks again my friend for commenting. cheer's for now Tony.
As always, thr attention to detail is at a level unmatched! And I love watching the step-by-step. A true joy to watch!
Thank you Anthony. very true comment, mostly its all about telling the story of this build. but yes interestingly put. cheer's for now Tony.
Nice work. I'd be tempted to keep the lift to one side. If you put it in the middle it'll drop right into the middle of the underpass and the safety elves will have your guts for garters😀
Lol. your probably right. i would like to get on the wrong side of the Health Safety Brigade, cheer's for now. Tony.
That looks great Tony- I love the water fountain
Cheers Kev
Thank you Kev, very much appreciate the comment. there is still more to the fountains. all the best Tony. water or a dripping tap.
Truly excellent! Well done! Thank-you!
Thank you John for commenting. cheer's Tony.
Good evening Tony so 1 doctor who transported Vera back in time or 2 maybe Vera is Vera's mum also called Vera. Your building is coming on well. Well done my friend. Stephen
Interesting thought Stephen. all the best buddy. Tony.
Nice work Tony, it’s all in the details. You are giving me plenty of inspiration for my layout, I’m really enjoying this build , thanks for sharing. Have a great weekend Tony.
Your very welcome. anything to help. cheer's for now Tony.
Your design and plans are very impressive Tony… Looking forward to more soon..All the best, Chris n Jules
Good evening Chris & Jules. the wet weather last weekend gave us a big boost in the loft. and got so much done. take care my friend. best wishes Tony & Laura.
Thanks for sharing, Tony.
My pleasure!! ken. see you again next week. have a great weekend. Tony.
Great video as always, Loved the Vera bit.
Glad you enjoyed the video. She travelled back in Geordie time. lol. cheer's for now Tony.
@@TONYNORTHEASTERN 👍🏻
Tony, I didn’t get to see any of your builds from start to finish until NOW! This is fantastic!
Thank you for commenting. all the builds are still out there, if you want to back track the videos. mind you it could be a distraction for watching the current series. its probably best to stick with this build for now. thanks again my friend. cheer's Tony.
GREAT JOB. you are a master. thanks for your time.
You are very welcome Spiffy. i did not realise that you have been with us for more than 6 years. you deserve a medal my friend. contact through the facebook page and i will send you some T.N.E stickers. cheer's for now Tony.
thanks just keep the great work and i am happy. @@TONYNORTHEASTERN
Vera, one of my favorite detectives. She’s in the right part of the country. Those L brackets are very distinctive. Nice detailed drawing, Tony. Great modeling , Rob
Hello Rob. Thank you for commenting. Absolutely Vera would fit in with any model railway. many thanks again. all the best Tony.
Dear Tony, as always I love your footage. Great detail shots. Beautiful how you did the design drawings for Tyne Dock Station. Do agree on the ample width space of the platforms, which doesn’t seem wide enough for the pillar construction as you’ve shown on the Tyne Dock pictures. From the canopy brackets you’ve drawn I therefore conclude that the canopy roof will drain towards the edge of the platform. Just a little bit of a pity you’re not able to create the apexed roof structure for the canopy. Even though I very much like the pillars you’ve shown, might be there’s a way to find or make a slightly thinner version which could accommodate the apexed canopy roof. Nevertheless, I definitely shall submit to your design choice, whichever one you choose.
On the elevator placement, don’t think it really matters that much. Just for posterity’s sake, from which ‘geographical corner’ comes the prevalent wind and precipitation? That may be a reason to place the elevator either on the ‘dock side’ or the ‘street side.’ Just for modeling aspects, I would suggest on the ‘dock side,’ which provides more space to accommodate some luggage and mail details in front of the elevator.
Don’t really understand why folks commented on the fact you built the elevator cage. In the books I’ve read on these kinds of ‘elevated island’ stations, it has been a common practice that such stations were built and planned around a goods lift. And or they were furnished with a goods ramp for goods and luggage trolleys all the way up to the platform level. Finally, on a few of the photos of the Tyne Dock Station you’ve shared there’s that steel door visible. Still am wondering about the purpose of that door. Still think it had something to do with vertical transport. The raised island station design was very common on the GCR and at least some of ‘m were fitted with goods elevators. Same counts for other rail lines in Europe which were built on arched masonry elevated structures. And last but not least, even if it isn’t completely prototypically correct, a goods lift is indeed instrumental on such a station. And alongside it, as I said before, it provides a great opportunity to model some extra details to the station. Truly lastly, the North Eastern is your railway and as viewers we all can only respect your modeling choices (which also counts for the canopy choice). Cheerio
Hello Vincent. thanks again for your great words of wisdom. as they are always very informative. The canopy supports that run along the walls can be found in many stations. and i think it will help with the look of the station when i come that part of the build. and less intrusive on the platforms themselves. many thanks again for your valued input. cheer's for now Tony.
It is nice to see Vera out and about. I bet that she is gathering bits of information about a case she is working on. (That is why the Police have been seen hanging around in the recent videos. She needs to be careful as she might get walled in the new station build or God for Bid stuck in the lift. The station platform and buildings are not safe yet or could it be that Mr Eastern the Builder, has been cutting corners? We shall find out in the following videos. Martin. (Thailand)
hello Martin. very true i have been cutting corners, how else will i get the apex for the roofs. lol. thanks again for commenting. all the best Tony.
Inspirational, Tony, as always. A must-watch for Friday afternoon.
Cheer's my friend. maybe we will see next week, until then stay safe Tony.
Hi Tony, thanks for explaining lift positioning, makes sense now
Great planning again regarding station buildings, this is going to be another fantastic station when completed, pity we can't all jump into a police box and travel to the future to see the end result right now ha-ha, looking forward as always to next part
Hi James. don't worry the end of the build will come soon enough my friend. patience that's all we need. until next time stay safe Tony.
The water fountain is absolutely ingenious T.....can things get better? They can on North Eastern.😬
Thank you for commenting David. we do our up mosttest cheer's for now Tony.
Trust Vera To turn up, she probably be the worlds oldest copper even in the 50s Pet. One of my mates live where they do a lot of the filming.
Its seems anybody who is anybody turns up here. lol. thanks again for commenting Clive. take care Tony.
Looking good mate, the basin for the fountain, from a 3 pin plug. Is there a story around that like with the tea leaves, bloody brilliant idea and realistic too. Well done mate.
The thing is you can use anything on your model railway. if you have the imagination. many thanks again for commenting. all the best Tony.
good vid on the channel thanks lee
Thank you Lee. cheer's for now.
Good stuff as usual Tony ,future work well explained. How's about a competition to spot the deliberate mistake in this weeks show .....
Cheers .
Great video again Tony and great to see how you develop a plan to the build. Glad I watched it in the morning as your whisper (thinking of Bob Harris) can result in involuntary napping 😅
Absolutely. I know the mistake i thin you are talking about. its been rectified. The gable end wall is wrong. cheer's for now Tony.
I know what you mean John. i get that feeling sometimes. many thanks for commenting. cheer's for now Tony.
After careful measuring and construction by Mr Eastern, . and to do her bit to help with the build, the Station Master's good wife did some baking and has presented the following recipe to the management committee :
Zucchini, Apple and Carrot Muffins
Ingredients
2 cups shredded carrot
1 cup shredded zucchini
1 cup chopped peeled apple
3/4 cup flaked coconut
1/2 cup chopped almonds
2 teaspoons grated orange peel
2 cups all-purpose flour
1-1/4 cups sugar
1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
2 teaspoons baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
3 eggs, lightly beaten
3/4 cup canola oil
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Directions
Gently toss together carrot, zucchini, apple, coconut, almonds and
orange peel; set aside.
In a large bowl, combine flour, sugar, cinnamon, baking soda and
salt. Combine eggs, oil and vanilla; stir into dry
ingredients just until moistened (batter will be thick).
Fold in carrot mixture. Fill greased or paper-lined muffin cups two-thirds full.
Bake at 375° for 20-22 minutes or so
Kind Mrs T has also offered to make Mr Eastern a nice cup of tea.
Cool recipe. cheer's for now Tony.
Very impressed by your efforts. What shade of blue are you using? I used Humbrol 109 but I'm not sure if the shade is right. Old age plays tricks on the memory.
Thank you for commenting. i do use the Humbrol blue. i think the shade i am using could be just a bit lighter. cheer's again Tony.
