Lightning Bolt From the Blue

- Many people often think that they are safe from lightning, as long as the cloud is not over them, or it's not raining. According to FEMA, lightning can strike up to ten miles away from the thunderstorm itself. In this video, a thunderstorm had formed just east of I-77, and was stationary. The location in the video is two miles from I-77. No rain has fallen, the sun is shining bright... it was a typical summer day... ideal conditions for people to be outside doing yardwork, playing etc. Even though the sun was shining and not a cloud was above, lightning struck just yards away from the camera. Heck, I was inside and even I was caught by surprise when I saw what seemed to be a bright flash outside, then BOOM. Please share this video with your friends, and help spread the word about the danger of lightning. This is known as a bolt from the blue, and is actually more deadly than a regular lightning strike from under the cloud base. These out of the blue strikes come from the side or top of the storm cloud, and are known to carry more electrical energy than regular strikes.

That is very cool
consider this , the record for the longest lightning flash is currently 447 miles , recorded in the usa via noaa.
I’ve seen a lot of videos of close lightning and it’s always so satisfying to hear the zap then the thunder crackle right after. Sounds almost like a beat drop
If you can hear thunder, then you're close enough to be struck by lightning. Stop any ooutdoor activity and get yourself and any family members or anyone with you inside. If you're in your car STAY in your car. It is safer than being outside. If you can't find shelter and are in an open area, crouch low but don't lay down.
Definitely some good information. This is one of the big reasons why I designed a weather case for my camera... so I can the action of the storm while I am safe inside. I've seen way too many videos on UA-cam of people nearly getting struck by lightning while filming the storm.
Yup.
Why has this got so many dislikes?! You clicked on a video as you wanted to see a bolt from the blue and that's exactly what you got.
How the heck you know it has that many?

WHY IS THE SKY VIBRATING!!???
The sky doesn't vibrate. Might be a camera issue.
