    The bush fires in Australia have created thunderstorms.

      I remember that, at my house we had some fires nearby and we ended up having a masssivvvveee dry thunderstorm, much bigger than this. The sky was dark red.

      That will be good, but bad at the same time because the winds in these storms can get up to 100 + mph

    A bunch of burning grass started a cloud that produced lightning and rain. Usually, pyrocumulonimbus clouds require vast amounts of burning foliage to form. This is amazing, and deserves more views

    • @geo3106
      @geo3106 Рік тому +1

      Considering that cumulonimbus clouds can form without fire, and pyrocumulonimbus clouds are simply those who's updrafts are attributed to a fire, even a small one could help trigger a thunderstorm.

      I imagine there was already a fair amount of instability in the atmosphere that day and the fire despite not being large just enhanced it.

    So a wildfire can create a storm and then that can put it out?

    • @AdamLucio
      @AdamLucio  6 років тому +10

      The dry lightning from the storm actually caused other fires - one of which was the one at the end of the video

    • @TheCentralTexasRailfan
      @TheCentralTexasRailfan 4 роки тому +1

      Also, the updraft where the warm air from the fire is rising is not where the rain is falling. The rain is falling in the downdraft portion of the storm, which is not over the fire.
