It is obvious the 3 tower extensions were previously apartment buildings which explains, for one, the broken elevators. A hotel would not have the thought of renovating the elevators, like they spruced up some things in the towers, until the elevators broke down which ends up in negative reviews, It is quite pitiful to see. Tim, if you had known, I would have made the request to stay in the original “half moon” curved tower. I certainly would not be interested in staying in a 1 bedroom apartment layout hotel room. Oh Tom, Miami is not known for white sand. To truly see amazing whit sand in Florida that is so soft… you need to go to any beach town on the Gulf side (western side) where also (contrary to the east side of the state) the water is clear and aquamarine blue - another plus. Once you’ve been on the Gulf side you never want to go back to the eastern side.

I live in Florida now, about 100 miles north of Miami. I remember going to the Fontainebleau for a work conference in the mid-1980s when I lived in the Midwest and a trip to Miami was a real treat. The property has gone downhill since I stayed there - sadly, they are not maintaining the rooms yet charging 5-star prices. Hope you enjoyed your stay in Florida!
Another great video. Quite Miami. Food looks like the highlight. The hotel itself seems .. okay. Love the classic deco buildings. Years ago when I was there, you just had to walk a block or 2 inland from the beach strip and it was a really rough/scary neighbourhood.
people so thrilled that famous people stayed there. Big deal. They have to stay somewhere How does that make it special? People can be such lemmings. Amazingly they love to pay for silliness like this
As a lifelong Michigander, you couldn't pay me enouggh to live anywhere down south. Florida in particular. Cesspool all around. That said, the refrigerator is a standard size refrigerator in the US. I've been to the UK three times and everytime I was stunned by how tiny your refrigerators are lol. They're so cute lol! Aside from the hot water issue, I really didn't think this was as bad as you say, tbh. And the balcony didn't look nearly as bad as some of the balconies you showed back in the UK. Some of those were seriously gnarly!
So Florida is a cesspool all around????? I've lived here for 16 years and I'm afraid I'm not seeing any evidence that it's a cesspool all around. Maybe you need to get around more than you do.
It's absolutely not worth it. There are some fabulous restaurants in Miami where you can get an amazing meal for $100. The elevators are shameful but no hot water? I'd be demanding a refund.
The picture of Frank Sinatra in a suit was during a “Tony Rome” movie shoot. Frank made two “Tony Rome” movies, one in 1967 and the next one the following year. He played an ex-cop turned private eye and the movies were filmed in Miami, Florida. Frank performed in the Fontainebleau in the evenings.

Is it just me or is it funny how much Tim is surprised by the size of that fridge 4:30? Cause that looks like a perfectly average sized fridge for me, the freezer even looks on the small side
We generally have much smaller fridges in the uk, a lot of people would have just one door wide fridges. Two door ones seem much more common nowadays but some homes and kitchens are too small to fit them in! I've never seen a two door fridge quite as big as that one though, although I think i might have seen one of similar size whilst on a holiday
@@EpicScizor I'd disagree. It just has two doors as a style decision, it's not that much bigger than a one door fridge. A one door fridge has a bigger door. My family fridge growing up is nearly just as big but with one door.

You can check in at the other reception I did it last Friday and all the other times I have stayed here, beat the long wait at the main reception!
10:19 Oh my God!!! Talking about a room with a view!!!! 😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍
Yay! So excited for the upload I’ll be on holiday for 2 weeks so I’m excited to see what’s coming soon when I’m back! Hope you had a great time on holiday with the family!
Thanks Ellie, wasn't long enough :-(
Imagine a 12-15 walk from reception for a 15 minute wait for the lift to find your keycard din't work. 1 hour round trip to reception!!
Tell me about it 😞
Love 💕 the Art Deco buildings
You are here during our rainy season and the peak of hurricanes start soon ,late September/October.
It was also the hotel in Goldfinger where Bond finds the girl dead painted in gold! where you are by the pools I recognised it straight away
Sorry Tim but I'd rate that 3 star at most.
I guess you get a full kitchen because the lifts take so long to arrive. 😂
Great vid Tim. Also that Levis shirt is real nice.
Those fridges are pretty common here in America, but certainly not for a hotel.
This is a suite and Miami. People come here with families for vacation , not for one night.
@@utahdan231 I've stayed in hotels with fullsize single door fridges, stove, fullsize sink and microwave. Never seen a double-door fridge because no one is really going to fill that up.
@@BrewPubtry to go with kids. If you don’t want to spend thousands in restaurants, you buy drinks and snacks and you stuck them in fridge. People eat out of resort and bring leftovers.
Scenes from James Bond, “Goldfinger” 1964 were also filmed at the Fountainbleau
Obviously this was an apartment building originally; hence the double door entry
Love your videos! I will say most people know that the Fontainebleau isn't really a 5 star hotel at all. If you want top tier go over to the Faena, Setai, Four Seasons Surf Club...you definitely get what you pay for.
Wasn't that the hotel in goldfinger?
Love the way he says squirrel!! 🐿🐿
Love when you say how many people you can fit in the shower makes me laugh
even funnier was pointing out that you can have a conversation in the shower with someone in the bath…Tim must have very close friends 🤣 Joking, of course! Another entertaining and eye opening video!
Yes in that shower you could fit three people in it, or four good friends!
For a 5 star hotel ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️I was really disappointed ☹️ Thanks for sharing Tim 😎🏝️
The lifts probably make everyone late for their dinner reservations 😐
They could serve dinner in the lift!
Tim, great channel by the way, and I hope that you will be able to review some of the hotels in Asia one day.
10 to 15 min to wait for an elevator is unacceptable. No hot water, elevators not working. Hole in the wall, I wouldnt stay there. I would ask to be put in a different room in a tower with working elevators. Apparently they dont want to spend the money to fix the elevators correctly.
No, I would not stay there.
Finally you’ve come to visit! Welcome Tim. Sorry to see you came during rainy season, but if you want you can return in the winter/early spring. You should consider staying and reviewing the Faena next time. I’ve always wanted to stay there even if got a night, but it’s expensive. See you soon!
Thanks for the tips!
This is where I was born and grew up. Memories.
You were born in the hotel!? Wild.
No, on Sunset Island about a mile away. The Fountainblue was always considered the gold standard of luxury.
Wow ! Beats concrete jungle city life.....fantastic....n it's great when it's reviewed n seen thru different eyes....Tim a fair n honest reviewer😊
They clearly are not doing enough to keep that hotel up to standard.
Welcome to my part of the world. 👋 I'm excited for this video because I've always wondered about those hotels.
You want white sands go to Marco island in Naples
The picture of Frank Sinatra in a suit was during a “Tony Rome” movie shoot. Frank made two “Tony Rome” movies, one in 1967 and the next one the following year. He played an ex-cop turned private eye and the movies were filmed in Miami, Florida. Frank performed in the Fontainebleau in the evenings.

Tim you gotta do a gta 6 real life tour when the game comes out next year.
I could watch your vidoes everyday~ love them and they give me ideas of where to travel! I hope you are going to do some more hotels in the US!!
😊 with all the traveling you do, I hope you, the wife and kids get to actually enjoy some of these beautiful places!
23:50 that CVS was formerly the apartment complex from the opening scene of Scarface.
That's twice the usual size, most have just the one door
@@EpicScizor I'd disagree. It just has two doors as a style decision, it's not that much bigger than a one door fridge. A one door fridge has a bigger door. My family fridge growing up is nearly just as big but with one door.
Our houses in England are much smaller than houses in the US, most of us haven’t got the room for a fridge that size 🥲
Yes, they are nice but perfectly regular appliances you can buy in a big box store.
In North America there are two sizes for fridges and they looked like the wide (36 inch ones). Still nothing extravagant. Now they are big for hotel fridges.
2 hours drive from my hometown... Tim good to see you again 🎉🎉🎉 yes
This hotel is my worst nightmare..give me a boat on the Norfolk Broads any day 😂
Totally agree.
The Norfolk broads are amazing 🤩
what a contrast i don't think you can compare ;-)
Tim's Norfolk Broads episode is one of my favorites! 🤩
@@marthaj5466 I am biased as I live in the Broads 🤭
How nice hearing from you..
😊
It doesn’t wow me. I wish they gave you little things in your room like drinks, a few chocolates, something to make it special
Hi tim awesome room you stayed in and that beach ⛱️ was so cool wish the beaches ⛱️ over here in England 🇬🇧 were like that always love watching your videos love you and your family from Michelle in Nottingham 😊😅😂❤❤❤❤
