I'm Vietnamese and I have eaten some other countries' cuisines but I have to say, Vietnamese food is the best! I don't know if it's because I have been living here for too long or what but when I left the country, I missed the food so bad. We also have amazing views. The people are no doubt really friendly but sometimes they are not polite. But in general, it's a great place to be and if you wanna travel here, you should get yourself a local friend to guide you so that you can enjoy the best quality of everything with the price as cheap as possible!

I normally hate videos that are about making food. But I was watching a C# Game making tutorial and your ad popped up. I thought "Eh. Why the hell not?" Came on over here and after this video, I subscribed lol. These aren't 'hard' to do and you don't have an ego the size of forever. You really, legitimately want the person who's watching to learn and that's why you got my subscription.

you can also prevent the rice paper from sticking to each other if you place long pieces of lettuce between them. Not only is this method eco friendly but it also keeps the spring rolls fresh and moist, plus it adds as an additional healthy snack to snack on as well.

@Lauren well in Vietnam we also use herb to compliment the dish. I know it’s a western thing to have only lecture in their dish. In Vietnam we also plan for young lecture because its taste bitter, but in Canada I saw lettuce is darn big and taste like water even the roman one. It’s also a truly insult to Vietnam salad and dish to only put lettuce in. You can agree or not that compares to other herb, lettuce is bland and taste like water. Maybe your culture is different from us.

I'm vegetarian, and I use avocado to be a great substitute for meat, to bring a bit of bulk the the spring roll.
    The ingredients I used were:
Avocado (not mushy, but firm YET it should have a bit of a yield when you squeeze it.)
Basmati rice (also works well with sushi rice or any other type), seasoned with salt and rice vinegar.
Carrot ribbons (use carrot peeler to create thin ribbons
Yellow Zucchini (peel, and cut into thin strips)
iceberg lettuce (cut up, or whole leaves)
Arugula (cut up or whole leaves)
Red bell pepper (cut into thin strips)
Chives (cut with a pair of scissors, into small pieces and sprinkle into the filling)
    Dipping sauces:
Peanut butter sauce: (cook as seen in this video)
    2 tbs peanut butter
    5 tbs olive oil
    1 tsp sesame oil
    cheyenne pepper to taste
    soy sauce
    1 tps honey
I also had teriyaki/sesami seed sauce, store bought, and small bowl or regular soy sauce with mixed in wasabi.
Yes, there are a lot of Japanese ingredients here, but as long as the end result is delicious, who cares right?

I’m pregnant, and I made a bunch and I ate them all (no regrets) was DELICIOUS. But I used chili sauce instead of peanut sauce. Still really good..

I will try making this, with chicken though. For me, the hardest part about making spring rolls has been the rice paper. This video helps alot with how to properly handle the rice paper. Cám ơn.

Made this and it was good, however i have to practice rolling, mine looked like it was run over by a truck XD lol! Any tips on the rice paper anyone?

    • @TPTHC

You can try this: lay the rice paper on a flat, shallow dish or any clean surface, use a sprayer to moist the rice paper, it will not soften nor sticky yet. The key is to moist the rice paper, not to wet them, you need some practices to find the right amount of water, the sprayer will give you better control. Without hurry, put in the ingredients, the rice paper will getting soft during this process. Finally roll it, if the rice paper too sticky, wet your finger will a wet towel. Hope this help :)

I made these today and I totally think its worth the time. Also my first time working with rice paper and knowing about the cooking concept of mise en place (french for everything in its place) is critical as the paper will become too sticky to the surface you are working on if you don't move fast.
The sauce is what my local Vietnamese restaurant makes for their spring rolls too.
    Thanks Helen
