  • It’s a diagnosis many of us fear most: Alzheimer’s disease. Alzheimer’s is the most common form of dementia, affecting 1 in 10 Australians over 65 and - alarmingly - 3 in 10 over 85. It’s also rising in younger age groups, with Australians under 65 affected by Alzheimer’s expected to double in the next 20 years.
For those with type 2 diabetes, the risk increases by up to 65%, but why? Alzheimer’s is not a normal part of aging. Our brains change as we age, but Alzheimer’s or any dementia-related condition is not inevitable. Research shows we can prevent Alzheimer’s by changing a few lifestyle factors, including (spoiler alert!) a low carb, healthy fat diet.
Leading low carb expert Amy Berger, international speaker, Certified Nutrition Specialist and author of the best-seller The Alzheimer’s Antidote and Dr Peter Brukner discuss the latest science on managing - and preventing - Alzheimer’s and why a low carb diet may hold the answer to reducing rates of this devastating condition.
    The hour-long webinar included:
The early signs of Alzheimer’s, and why it’s not something we need to accept as normal ageing.
How Alzheimer’s and type 2 diabetes are related.
The foods we should eat to maintain or improve brain health.
Does high cholesterol mean you’ll develop Alzheimer’s?
How small lifestyle changes can reduce our risk of developing Alzheimer’s.
