⚠️ DO NOT OVERCLOCK A 20XX SLIM MORE THAN 650/850 !
FOR A 21XX, DON'T TRY TO EXCEED 700/900 !
⚠️ If your PS3 can """only""" do 650/800, or 700/900 max, it's already enough ! OCing WILL reduce the lifespan of your console and there are diminishing returns starting from 700MHz core and 800MHz VRAM.
⚠️ Never jump to high values without knowing the limits of your PS3. Proceed step by step.
Having a hardware flasher (e3flasher, etc...) is highly recommended.
🌡️ You probably noticed that my PS3 run slightly hotter at stock clocks and there is a stupid explanation for this : I recorded the 700/850 part first, and I obviously didn’t wait long enough for it to cool down before recording the other part.
Overall, temps remains practically unchanged. Probably because frame rate improvements are not spectacular to begin with... 😅
This game doesn't benefits that much from the OC (except for the cutscenes, it's night and day).
❗Expect GTA IV to react the same, since it use the same engine.
Rockstar games are more CPU-bottlenecked, it seems.

If you’re wondering why my PS3 is warmer at 500/650 than 700/850 : I recorded the 700/850 part first, and I obviously didn’t wait long enough for it to cool down.

Would be great if someone made patch for the RDR PS3 version, that could increase the rendering resolution to 720p. Then the overclock could be more beneficial. Same thing with GTA 4.

@@MitsuTM Youre ABsolutely Right, i have an Ryzen 3 3200u with 4 threads at 3.5ghz and delivers 112 Gflops on Fp32, on Mortal Kombat 9 with max Texture quality and 16 anistropic filtering my cpu is being used from 72% to 90%, and on 0.1% of time being used 100% but majority of time the Cpu is around 75%-85% so is finaly an Ps3 Port which really has Great Code on Cell B.E using SPE Cores to Process actual game Logic and PhysX with great perfect Performance!

On OC 600/750 this game shut down my PS3 with three beep after few minutes or hours.
Capacitors issue, I'm almost sure about that.

@@ReYDeR2k So, that's the NEC Tokins (capacitors) getting old.
If you read the SYSCON log (you can extract it to a USB key, go to the "Extract" category in Evilnat options), you'll probably see "A0801002" errors.

While on Nintendo Switch you can play it at 30fps stable, even 60fps stable if overclocked ! 😅

Does any Metal Gear game benefits from this OC?
Yes, more mgs revengeance than mgs4. mgs4 has double vsync enabled, so the framerate varies from 20 to 30 to 60, so when the fps dips just a little it will automatically drop down to 30 or 20, oc helps but unfortunately fps still dips to 20 in some situations.
Metal Gear Rising Revengeance greatly benefits from this OC.

MGS4 dips less often. Where it should normally drop to 20 FPS (double V-Sync), it manage to stay at 30 for example.
As for MGS5, I didn't tried it yet.

An SSD will have an impact on load times, not really on the frame rate (except for some games like Skyrim).
