@@Gabut_12 You're talking about a Slim ? Which model exactly ? If you're careful and don't install random frequencies, a sudden brick is impossible just by overclocking. If somehow you manage to brick your console, you have to use an e3flasher to reflash the NOR. Many tutorials on PSX-Place and UA-cam about how to do this. A PS3 turning off while playing a demanding game is something you see on 20XX slims. It means that the NEC/Tokins are too degraded and you should install a lower (core) OC. Nothing to worry about, but yeah, on a 20XX those capacitors are a bit limiting.

@@Gabut_12 I myself bricked a 20XX when I didn't knew much about overclocking and trust me, when a 20XX is bricked the only thing to do is to use an e3flasher. I tried absolutely everything else without success. If it was a 21XX or a 25XX, cooling it as much as possible could have worked. But here, that's not an option unfortunately.

@@dantesquivel0 You need to edit a file. Via FTP : dev_hdd0 > tmp > wm_res>VshFpsCounter.yaml (It's like a .txt file) You can also copy this file via USB if you prefer, edit it and then overwrite it. OR, through the WebmanMod site : 0.0.0.0 (your console's IP)/edit.ps3/dev_hdd0/tmp/wm_res/VshFpsCounter.yaml

@@gabrielmanarte6809 In this game, not really. It's a particularly CPU-bottlenecked title, especially noticeable in the streets. In the helicopter, you can see nice gains, because the GPU is more used here compared to the CPU.

@@TheMiraiAngel02 I play it directly from an internal SSD, that's the best you can do. It doesn't really affect the framerate, more the loading times and maybe some textures loading faster too.

@@artemzatorskuy4025 Any 25XX should support 700/850 easily. So yes, give it a try ! RIP-Felix has a 25XX with +1000 days of usage and it support this OC without issues it seems.

HEN will probally not have an overclocked version since HEN has only access to LV2 Kernel (XMB and Homebrew Apps) while CFW has access to LV1 Kernel (Hardware control)

@@fcha7400 True for many games on this console ! A stable 30 FPS >>> inconsistent framerate targeting 60 FPS. Example unrelated to the PS3 but the Switch port of NieR Automata is locked to 30FPS, perfectly stable, and that's a smooth and enjoyable experience ! :)

Both RIP-Felix's experiments and mine highlighted noticeable diminishing returns starting around 700MHz core and 800MHz VRAM. Yeah, in fact, I could even lower the VRAM to 800MHz without significant performance loss. Great numbers are appealing and it's always fun to test the limits of your hardware (at least, for me), but further frequencies increases aren't worth it. Fully cleaned PS3, Arctic MX4 thermal paste, my now dead beloved Delta fan at 40% speed minimum (Delta KFB1012HE, by far the most effective model you can get for a Slim, I tried them all), the console is surelevate by ~2cm to allow better air circulation/heat dissipation and... that's all. Also, I don't remember what was the ambient temperature when I recorded this, but it was probably way lower than it actually is.

@@fabiobedini9302 Hi ! I would recommend 650/800-850 MAX. 700MHz core is often too much for the aging capacitors (NEC Tokins), leading to shutdowns in intensives games like Red Dead Redemption, Red Faction Guerrilla, The Last of Us, Skyrim, etc...

I did better I got Rebug 4.84.2 to an OC of 650-850 and work great,thanks for all ❤

@@MrRedfield89 That's the GPU we're talking about here 😁 And yes, except for some lost causes like GTA4, Bayonetta or Drakengard 3, overclocking is totally worth it. No, you won't fry your GPU btw, that's not how it works :P There are risks, indeed. You can brick your PS3 if you don't know what you're doing (each model has its own limits) and even a moderate OC will reduce (insignificantly though) your console's lifespan (electromigration, etc...). It's up to you to accept this or not, but keep in mind that none PS3 is eternal anyway, so I'll say that a slightly less longer lifespan doesn't matter at all. Enjoy ! You can see examples of games that really benefits from this RSX overclock on this channel. And that's just very few examples here 👍

i did 850/900 , and ran infamous at about 35-40 lowest being 22

@@joebloggs1691 It depends how CPU-intensive it is. Given the fact that this game is very poorly optimized for the CELL, the framerate will suffer in areas with many NPCs for example. Different camera angles, things happening in background, etc..., a lot to consider that explains framerate variations here. (Difficult to have a true 1:1 comparison on a game like this, except in cutscenes of course.)
