A man’s first luxury wrist watch. A very fun and exciting experience!
Austin did a great job with the video, he didn't miss a beat. I wish everyone could go back in time and have their first luxury watch purchase documented on video. You can only do it once.
It's becoming the 'Three Amigos' segment of the channel, I like it!
Nice to see! I can feel his excitement . Congratulations!!
Fun video Austin and Co, congrats on the Speedy Marc!
Congrats Marc!
Great video as usual, Austin 👍
Thanks Mark!
Congrats! So happy to see a 1st luxury purchase, fine choice!
I’m so excited for this guy 😁👌🏼
The hesalite Speedy was my first luxury piece also. It was my daily driver for six years, and it taught me a lot about what I wanted in a daily piece. Despite my eventual need for an automatic movement, a case smaller than 42mm, higher water resistance, and a better fitting bracelet, it is still one of my favorite dials ever. I have a ceramic no-date Sub as my daily now, but I am always tempted to get another Speedy....perhaps a FOIS.
It’s so great seeing the excitement for a first and grail purchase. After buying and selling watches for quite some time it’s sometimes hard to feel that kind of excitement all over again, to me it’s kind of a slow burn, you love the watch so you buy it, if you keep loving it you’ll keep it.
Anyways congratulations Marc on an excellent first/grail watch purchase, you know you’ve got the right one when you feel excitement and happiness like that.
Lovely video. The watch gets a thumbs up from me, a classic. Good price too. Well done Marc!
Congrats on the first grail watch!
Congrats, dude! You can get a box for it down the line, they’re fairly abundant.
Congratulations Mark! You had the right crew with you too!
Damn right, I wish Austin was alongside me while buying my first proper mechanical watch. Lol!
Congratulations on the watch! Beautiful! Love Omega’s!
Nice to share this moment with You guys.
Very noch watch you bought , i enjoyed your enthusiasm..that is the way enjoy things in life without snobism
Congratulations Marc!
If I had a nickel every time I heard someone say, “it doesn’t matter because I will never sell it….”
Ive bought four new Hesalite Speedmasters over the past four years. After not wearing one for a few months, I’d sell it, then a few months later I’d buy another.
I felt like I HAD to appreciate it or there was something wrong with me. The big box was cool, but I just never enjoyed wearing it. It felt and looked like a generic watch to me. It’s horological significance meant nothing when it was on my wrist. I’ve accepted that the Moonwatch is just not for me. It’s a great watch- it’s just not for me. On the other hand, I love my 50th Anniversary Seamaster GMT!
Congratulations on the Speedy and Marcelo cracks me up 😂
Congratulations Marc! well done! enjoy in good health!
If you get bored of it, bring it to London. You will soon be relieved of it.
you just bought a watch that smile at you everytime u look at it!!! Enjoy!!! Congrats!
So nice to see Nakano again, even if only online. I bought my SD4K and 114060 in Nakano. What a great place to buy watches with confidence. Awesome choice on the hesalite original. Austin nailed it, you can't wear the box and papers! Enjoy the watch but do you really think it will be one and done Marc? :)
Hello! I dropped by the shop today around 5pm and it was closed. Checking with anyone if they are closed for good or they just close early? Thanks.
Good luck man. You are cool . I was so happy when I got my tudor BB58. It took me 2 years to save the money. I had to sell a few other watches. And you can wear it safe in Japan.
That dude has a nice shirt and tie, and hat. He needed a special watch too. Good for him!!
Awesome buying experience. I wonder if he will add a 2nd luxury watch down the line. Moonwatch is a classic
Hi there, could you please share the location and the name of the shop?
Genuine enthusiasm there, nice. I was at Nakano Broadway a couple of weeks back...held onto my wallet that time.
Good for you. Hope you get a lifetime of enjoyment from your speedy
Congratulations 🎉
Good to see some non-Rolex content on your channel. I know you love them and I agree they make economic sense but they just aren't too exciting.
Congrats Marc 👏
Great watching, I went shopping in the same place with Austin - I think I was the first? Simon
Great content !!!
as an omega fanboy i appreciate any omega content, i dont appreciate marcelo bragging about being unfaithful. what is it about these YT guys that think this is ok? i dont think Austin is like that but jeez
Guy has almost no filter
Congrats man
A couple things 1) It's not a bad idea to insure it. 2) Some Speedy owners including myself use the Chrono needle to note the date.
that's interesting because when I'm looking for a Speedy, I want the open back with sapphire crystal.
Mark ii Speedys are for the purest, mark ii on a racing dial is one of the best looking Speedys
Agreed.
Congrats Nonito Donaire! Nice Watch... Can't wait for your rematch with Naoya Inoue
Beauty! What is the address of this store ?
Where is this store? I was at Nakano broadway and I did not see this store!
Hi Austin! May I ask where this Speedmaster store is located?
What’s the name of this shop?
That's so cool! I very happy for Marc! It's great to see someone appreciate the watch so much! It shows, there's something about the one watch collection!
You guys are funny … congratulations on your new watch Mark …. wear it in good health and happiness
Damn that dude was so happy made me happy I need a new watch. haha
As my dream watch congratulations to you buddy
Congratulations
Shop window looks like a watch vending machine
The buyer needs to do some more research before buying a speedmaster. He doesn’t even know how a chrono works.
He will be fine....I have a G shock for about 5 years and still do not know how to set the alarm on it.....
@@wjvlodek8769 I know, but did seem a bit strange that he said it was grail watch and then didn't know how to operate it. Its not rocket science and it is probably the most reviewed watch on youtube
@@davidr2802 Yes,,,,I agree (like buying a sub and being surprised that the bezel only rotates one direction). He seemed to be well informed about the crystal, etc. However, I don't see that as a reason to poke fun at him. Have a good weekend!!
@@wjvlodek8769 Unless you have a pre-79 sub. Ok, I had to look that up!
Good weekend to you too!
damn! prices have really risen,
I paid 240,000 yen around 2012 in Nakano and i got Box + Papers!
I enjoyed “Ferris Bueller’s Omega Speedmaster.” 😀 Like a classic buddy road trip movie or something.
Austin, what do you have against the Speedy Reduced? 😂
Hey Austin, love your videos and watch hunting. I always have this worry in getting from grey market, resellers whether the piece is authentic? And similarly some has no box, certs and letters to verify.
Thanks! I know what you mean - that was my biggest fear when I first got into watches.
@@watchsymposium With your experience in Japan, Tokyo - how safe is it to purchase a piece at the grey market scene over there?
How do you get the assurance
@@kwangmingtan1351 It's very safe, as fake watches really aren't a thing you need to worry about when it comes to retail shops here.
As for assurances, that's on the buyer. You should be very familiar with the model you are looking to get, and make sure everything checks out.
After that, I usually take pieces to RSC for an overhaul shortly after getting them, and that provides another check that everything's alright.
Thanks for the info. I can’t wait to head over to Tokyo, hope to bump into you some day. Cheers Austin!
Saying that the mark2 or a reduced speedy is an awful watch, proves this guy knows nothing about horology...
Agreed. The speedmaster reduced 3510.50 is a great watch and would wear much better on this guys tiny wrist.
Nothing matters as long as he loves what he’s got! Happy for him!
He wants a speedmaster for 5 years and does zero research on how it operates. Watching him try and work the watch was painful
I have a Speedy Reduced 3539.50 and it's like "the perfect watch" ! It's also going up in grey market every month ! It's a good investment too.
@Alexandros, sue me. The Mark II is big, bulky and unattractive. And the reduced is ETA garbage with exorbitant service costs. You might as well throw it away and just buy a whole new watch instead of taking it in. You love them so much, you buy them.
What's wrong with a mark 2 Omega Speed Master?
Other wise enjoyed and celebrating some one with passion buying a grail watch.
Some people don't like it's 1970's aesthetic when it comes to its case.
how do you know its original if it has no papers?
Austin, is cash the way to go in Japan? And US$ ?
Oh ya, cash is king here, and some watch shops won't take credit cards. You have to use Yen, but the exchange rate from USD to Yen is really in your favor at the moment.
@@watchsymposium awesome thanks I will bring some in August!
The mark 2 ils amazing…..Btw 😉
What a MUPPET !!!
Sapphire Sandwich for me, thanks.
...with the date! With the Speedy, I'm not a purist. With the Glycine DC-4 I am.
420,000 yen 💴
Nakano Broadway ?
Real moon watch ok . I get it but 42 mm that is just to big . . Marcelo never shuts up. ! Lmao . Drinking again guys ?
Phirst
Mulletocious Respektos
1st piece respecktus.
Marcelo interrupting video flow as always
Lol, as always!
All that money and he can't tell you anything about the watch . Not safe . Also he can't speak English.
How the hell can you trust him ? The watch ? Well best of luck to him .
No box No papers? Serial number check? I'm just saying 'buyer beware!'
good replica watch, better to buy at official omega store, no box and papers its already an indication that is something is off =((
This is an authentic Omega Speedmaster. I'm not sure of you're trolling or are genuinely ignorant, but I'll assume the later; watches are separated from their boxes and papers for many reasons, so that's not much of an indication of authenticity (also, considering box and papers are easier to fake than the actual piece).
