I loved that shopping trip! Thanks so much for taking us along. Window shopping is more fun sometimes when there's no chance of actually spending any money.
That was fun. Some very nice pieces there. Think I liked that vintage Omega Seamaster, several vintage Seikos along with a few Grand Seikos. I don't think I could have walked out of that shop without buying something.
@@addicted_to_watches Sir please may I ask you for the location of this shop? I will be living in Tokyo soon and I am looking for a specific Seiko, that has been mostly made for the asian market, so I believe I could find it somewhere :)
@@addicted_to_watches thanks for the response. I saw your response on some comments after I posted that comment so i appreciate the effort on reply. Anyway, the Bookoff ive been to so far in Tokyo dont have watches and the one from Nagoya is far
1. Bookoff don't pay much when you sell to them 2. There's a big watch market in Japan 3. This was a few years ago, I'm sure inflation has hit and pushed prices up
Japan in general is usually pretty strict about fake stuff and at bookoff staff inspect the items before they buy them so while it's possible to get a fake, chances are very low and you'd be able to return it if it turned out to be fake
I'll be visiting Japan from the US in March. I admittedly don't know much about BookOff. Are all watches legit? I was shocked to see speedmasters for about $1400.
Yep, they're all legit. Since recording this video the prices have probably gone up just like everything else. Also if you're in the big cities like Osaka and Tokyo the prices will be higher in general compared to the less popular places like Nagoya
@@addicted_to_watches I'll be hitting up Tokyo, Kyoto, Nara, Osaka, and Hakone. If you have any recs for any of those I'd love to hear them. Just subbed also 👍
Thanks for subscribing! In Tokyo id recommend going to Nakano Broadway. Prices aren't super cheap but an amazing selection at a range of shops including Jackroad. In Osaka try Watch-Colle. It's a little shop that has some interesting second hand pieces. Otherwise just look for Bookoff Bazar or super Bazar locations, they're the ones with lots of stuff, not just books
@@Pinaka1991 I did, but the prices found were not super favorable. Ended up just getting a JDM seiko monster at Yodobashi. Couldnt be more pleased with it!
There is a lot more supply and less demand in Japan compared to the rest of the world. This was also a few years ago so prices have probably gone up a bit too
Japan in general is quite strict when it comes to fakes so there is a very very small chance they are high quality fakes but 99.9% of the time you can rely on them being real

1. I'm an Australian who recorded a video about watches in Japan, I don't have a whole lot to do with usd 2. It's not that hard to work out roughly the conversion in your head is it? 4. Thanks for watching :)

please do more videos like this.
Love the video and yes, please visit more BookOffs for watches. I'd buy that King Seiko at the end 😄
Need more of these.
A bunch of GSs were listed as not running or date function not working, which explains the price tags
great video - price and model names clearly seen! May I know where are the shops especially for the low price Grand Seiko?
Thanks for watching! This was in Sakae, Nagoya
beautiful collection. Hope you are doing well. do you know if these watches come with original papers as well?
Thanks for watching! Some do and some don't, it just depends on each watch
I came back from Japan a month ago, I wish I had seen this video sooner...
That just gives you another reason to go back again ;)
Please more of these videos thanks!
I can only justify so many trips back to Japan 😅
Going to Japan next month. Hoping to locate a nice speed master.
The hunt is half of the fun. Good luck!
I picked up a Speedmaster sapphire sandwich and a Seamaster Professional. I am heading back to Japan next week in search of a Grand Seiko.
Lots of nice stuff
It can be a very dangerous place for my wallet 🤣
Great video! Cultural question: do Japanese shops negotiate if you buy more than one? Or at all?
Generally no, they don't negotiate
Where is the exact location of this?
Thx for your information! may i know the shop's name ?
It's called Bookoff. There are also Hardoff and Hobbyoff shops too. Some have lots of watches, others have none so you just have to check
What if the 1 I buy is fake? How to guarantee authenticity
In which city was this hardoff?
It's Bookoff Super Bazar in Sakae, Nagoya
Do they have an online shop? Do you have some recommendations for online shops for watches in Japan, which ships internationally?
Bookoff only sell books online, not any other items. You can check yahoo and rakuten, though they are marketplaces rather than shops
I'm flying to Tokyo this week--- may I have the name and location of this shop? I'll be buying!

Where would you recommend to look for gs and ks vintage watches in Tokyo?
