I lost about 1-2inches of edges all around my head from postpartum shredding. I am strictly wearing my natural 4a/4b hair in yarn. I African thread my entire head and put it up in a bun. I coat my hair and scalp in my homemade all natural henna, fenugreek powder, & hibiscus flower infused olive oil. Yarn keeps your hair super moisturized. When needed, I take my spray bottle and lightly spritz my yarn and scalp. I recoil my hair and put it back in a bun. Its moisturized and looking healthy again. Try it ladies.
@@MarianKaine Np! Awe thanks for replying. I love your video. If you are open to suggestions (if not ignore it) take a rat tail comb (the one you're using in the video) and comb OUT the last hmm, maybe 2 inches of yarn at the end and continue braiding like its regular braiding hair. Honeyyyy, when I say it's a game changer! You will never do them the same again.
The yarn actually looks like a more natural texture and I like the way you didn't leave the ends undone.. I want to try using yarn to do spring twist but would have to curl the hair first.. From what was shared with me the chemicals in the synthetic hair isn't the best for our hair.. This seems like a better option to try if you're looking for a new style..
I remember doing these about 10 years ago when I first went natural ! They saved me so much money in college!! Love them and they retain moisture since it’s yarn!
I am an avid yarn wearer! I liked it as it is just like my technique! Only thing I did NOT care for (and will NEVER EVER do again) was the dipping the hair. My last install (diy always) prevented me from having that movement that lets you tuck the braids with the pins and things. The braids have great movement but they have ZERO hold in a bun situation without the use of a million hairpins.
I use one of those wire brushes to feather the ends and it works like a charm for me. Here's a link to the product I'm talking about: www.walmart.com/ip/Vibrant-Life-Slicker-Dog-Brush/144587022. It's called a dog slicker brush. Two buns is my go-to style but I could never get a bun when I would burn the ends (my former method). Feathering the ends allows me to do that. It can also be done with a rattail comb.
Usually don't pull on your clothes, but you can comb out the end with a comb before Braiding it when you done u put it in hot water and it locks it , it will look like when you use hair extensions.
I actually crochet clothes etc., but my question to you is; I want that same length, do you remember how long the yarn was when u cut them? Love how you did this style, beautiful!!❤️
If you do get them, make sure you are moisturizing your hair. I love this look and I just did my first set. But it can be drying to the hair sometimes if you don’t spray your hair daily or at least every other day
I really like yarn braids but I don't belong in the culture where it came from. If I wore them, Would that be seen as offensive or as cultural appropriation even though I have no malicious intent and just genuinely find them beautiful? Just curious don't judge me
Why use yarn wen u can use kankelon or expression and yarn is okay but it already look old and nappy then u gotta prepluck it who got time for dat and does it itch ? But tbh it looks good overall just curous if it itches
Yarn is the only way I can have breads or twists or anything because my scalp is so sensitive. Even after soaking kanekalon hair or any other synthetic hair in apple cider vinegar a d water to remove the coating, I still break out and my scalp will burn. I think I'm just allergic to synthetic hair. The easiest option may not be the best option in some cases like this.

Hey chemicals on synthetic hair can be removed via apple cider vinegar soak x

I wish we could buy the yarn already cut because doing it yourself is a whole other job.
Imeiyah Talbert Yeah, but prepping the yarn is not that hard. It’s easier than stretching braiding extensions.
You spoke nothing but the truth!!
Use a chair that spins! That's how I do cut my yarn...
My mom uses her toe to hold the yarn as she wraps it so it takes no time at all
great video. ive been doing yarn braids for a couple of years now. but ive never thought to do them this size. im deff gone try these next🥰🥰
Thanks 😊.
You’ll definitely like it.
@@MarianKaine Is it heavy?
@@lovesmith877 yarn braids are generally pretty light (much much lighter than synthetic hair) until you get them wet that is. 😊
Beautiful. I think I just may have found my younger sister's summer style. Thanks for sharing
Felix A. McNeill thanks. I’m glad you found something for your younger sister 🤗
Thank you for showing how many yarn bundles were used to achieve this style. It looks great.
Anytime I do my braids I do yarn. I love it. Great job. ❤
Chambria Parker Thank you 😊
I love my yarn braids they look natural and last me a while so that's good💕
That’s awesome 🤗
I been wearing yarn individual box braids,I comb my ends out, till they get fluffy, put gel on the end and finish braiding it I hate the burnt look.

How does this compare hair health wise to regular braiding hair??
Dipping the yarn actually gives movement to the braids and lengthens it.

@@mitzukiqueen446 YES, BUT Zero ability to tuck and go with NO PINS!!!
@@dawnhawkins9699 NAH, I'M GOOD!!!
One more question, how do you maintain the style for 3 months like shampooing and moisturizing? Is this a style you can do for any season?
WOW!!!!!! I CAN'T LOUD IT ENOUGH. Beautiful.
Thank you 😊
I'm inspired. this looks beautiful.
Thank you
Wowwww didn’t know we can put yarn in the hot water after😳
Is there no other way to seal the ends apart from using the lighter? Doesn't the burnt ends pull on your clothes?
Usually don't pull on your clothes, but you can comb out the end with a comb before Braiding it when you done u put it in hot water and it locks it , it will look like when you use hair extensions.
These look really good!
Thank you 🙂
How many braids did you have total
you can stretch the end by comb it with s small comb 👌
I actually crochet clothes etc., but my question to you is; I want that same length, do you remember how long the yarn was when u cut them? Love how you did this style, beautiful!!❤️
Wow, I learned something new. Love them.. How long to they last?
Sheila Lampley Hi. They can last for up to 3 months. The older it gets, the finer it looks.
If you do get them, make sure you are moisturizing your hair. I love this look and I just did my first set. But it can be drying to the hair sometimes if you don’t spray your hair daily or at least every other day
But when you do spray it, it can stay wet for a while to keep your hair moisturized so daily may be a little excessive😅
Is it the same as the Brazilian yarn in Ghana?
Hi pretty 🌹pls 🙏this is my first time having a yarn braids ,can I grow my hair with this braids pls🙏🙏
These are very cute. Are they heavy?
MzReese041715 yarn is super light

TaZhané Claude Thanks 🙂
I don't understand why put it on hot water
where did you get the yarn from?
Hi. I got the yarn from Walmart. You can also get it from Amazon and, probably, any beauty store around you.

Sleeping Tortilla Hi. Anyone can wear yarn braids regardless of what culture you belong in. There’s no offence in looking pretty 😉.
You should totally do them but there will be some people who will tell you nonesense.
Why dont you come up with some other beautiful way to do your hair. Be creative.
10:53 where u get the lil candle holder?
Hi. I got it from Walmart. You can also find it on Amazon.
Can anyone think of a way to make the ends feathered??? That would be so cool. Thank you for the great ideas I enjoyed your video
So why do women wear wool in their hair ?
Is there some benefit for the health?
Is it heavy??
Tee lc025 Hi. It’s only heavy after you dip the hair in hot water, but it’s not heavy after the hair dries.
No light weight i think
how long did it take you to plate her hare
sorry i mean hair
Kupa Denhere Hi. It took about 6 hours.
did you finish the yarn
Can you swim in these?
Hi,
I wouldn’t advise anyone to do that. It does take a while for the hair to dry when it gets wet.
How many packs ?
3 large red heart yarn(saw it in a comment)
What song is that?
Does it not stay hard
