I've been doing yarn braids for years! I used it in my exes hair, my daughter's and my little cousin. More people should use it because it's so lightweight. Only set back its washing. You MUST make sure it's dry before you lay down for bed, or put up in ponytail. Otherwise it smells like mildew.
If you don't mind me asking, how would you get the yarn to dry thoroughly? Would leaving the braids to air dry be enough or do you use a hooded hair dryer?
@@jennyjoly3030 air dry is fine if you're up and out and about during the day. Otherwise, towel towel towel. No braiding them, let them hang or, use the dryer on cool air. You can also alternate between hot and cold air under the hood dryer. That's been the way I've dried them. Hope that helps. 😊
It’s Brazilian wool and it’s amazing. I’m Muslim so I can’t use extensions and this looks exactly like it and comes in a variety of colours. If it’s not in your local Afro Caribbean shop you can get it on eBay or aliexpress just type Brazilian wool

I'm 32 now....but my cousin and I used to love this style when I was in high school!!! In DC yarn twist used to be popular....but my cousin and I didn't know how to do twist so we did yarn braids in each other's hair instead 🥰 I also never learned how to separate Kanekalon hair to make the braids even 😂😂...and with yarn it is already separated so 🥰🥰 Cute🥰🥰

Ok I might have to try this because my natural hair is very fine and thin, especially in the crown area, so most braid hair is too heavy and I lose hair when I take them down.
I forgot I had some of this and decided to try it. This is my favorite to do box braids with. It’s light and amazing to grip and the braids don’t slide. I used a paddle brush to separate the ends and give it a really good feather. They also sealed well after dipping. If it wasn’t for this video I wouldn’t have tried.

I bought some Brazilian yarn. I tried to thread my hair. Since that didn't work, I cornrowed it. I will try short feed in box braids. I only bought 2 skeins. I HATE knotless braids because it always looks gappy, too much scalp is showing BUT I love this knotless braid because I can't see much gaps, it looks lovely and full and I love the curls at the ends, beautiful!!!❤❤

Make sure you moisture your hair very well under the yarn, cuz they can dry out very fast.

jhibblerablly an easy way to do it is to put you twist into braids all the way to the end then dip it in how water
Pipe cleaners would be the best method for it to last longer and have more defined curls.

You can use regular yarn. I've been doing braids for years using redheart yarn from Walmart.
