It would be the same for 7600x and 13600k and 12600k, the point is not the price of the motherboard, but the platform cost. The point is to show that the same motherboard brand and model has different costs across different platforms. More and more high end x570 motherboards are getting more expensive since EOL of AM4 platform.... so a creator who would want to enter the platform with a lower end CPU to upgrade later would be on this situation.

@@theTechNotice No, he is damn right here. Just gave up. You are spreading misinformation to the point it is ridiculous. For example, you were comparing single core performance benchmarks... on the 13900k and the 7950x and called that an efficiency test saying AMD is less efficient because of this finding, when we know that in Blender and Handbrake, even Premiere Pro, the 7950x is faster, consume about 50-70% less power, and cost the same. Wake up, you are going in granularity and spread misinformation on a cherrypick. You should not review hardware because obviously you don't know what you are talking about. I will stick to GamerNexus, Anandtech, Hardware Unboxed, Kitguru, Hardwarebuster, HardwareCanucks... than your broken cherrypicked analysis. I am an electrical engineer, just to let you know, and you process is obviously flawed and you stick on Asus ProArt motherboards which are not really good motherboard beside their IOs offer. Same position. I like the look of the 13700k. However the prospect of being able to upgrade the cpu on the same motherboard, combined with the significant difference in energy use (both for bills and heat dissipation) is making me wonder about the 7700x knowing that an upgrade for zen 5 or zen 6 won't be a full platform upgrade. Hopefully the 7800x will be more appealing.

I need to point out there are literally 51 different X570 motherboards on pcpartpicker that are cheaper than $250 right now. (In the US however I’m sure theres still plenty in other countries) You don’t need a fancy motherboard for these CPUs. I get you’re comparing the same models of boards but that 5600x comparison is incredibly unfair to be priced so high. Using these expensive boards doesn’t show the real world value for any of them imo if you’re on a tighter budget.

AMD is not dead... Sure, It sucks that motherboard prices are not their promised price and DDR5 is pretty expensive, especially in comparison to DDR4. Yes, it loses in value, and I'm with you there, but it is most definitely not dead.
I am going to be building my first P.C. this year, i have been wanting to and research to high hell for the past 4-6 years, I am likely going AMD for my next CPU (and even GPU for value) because of longevity of the platform and efficiency. Cost in electricity bills will be lower compared to intel, probably even saving money overtime.
If I were to go intel, I would want 13th gen, but I either get a Z790 or bios update a 12th gen motherboard, that requires a supported CPU of the same socket. So, (at the moment) that dorsn not work out for me. AMD definitely still works out for people like us.
Like the other person said, if AMD didn't exist, there wouldn't be competition and we would probably be stuck on 80nm, so even bottom line, they definitely still have a place.

If someone buy now AM5 cpu and platform thinking he'll avoid buying a new motherboard in 1-2 years, I can add that buying lga 1700 cpu+ddr5 platform he'll save enough money to buy his next motherboard in 1-2 years... So the upgrade path at this moment is not important... In 1-2 years we'll check it out again. Who knows...maybe the new motherboards will have features that keeping a 2 years old motherboard will be pointless... :) :) :)

zen4 not bad, quite much improve from zen3 . but 7600x totally suck, amd need to AMD needs to re-examine the gap between ryzen physical core and the opponent's physical core to adjust the price.before 13thgen release, they already know i5 13600k have 6+8 equal 10pcore multithread performance cpu. even they know this before,They still maintain the $300 price for 6 cores, this show that how arrogant and greedy amd is today. After taking a brief lead on zen3, they forgot that they used to be a chasing identity and thought they had become the leader. Arrogant attitude.
