@@jenniferkovalick2959 My childhood dog gave us the funniest annecdote ever. My mom was friends with a woman who... could not cook. Like, not even by mixing canned things together. Nothing she made came out edible, she had to resort to ordering out, tv dinners, instant soups and canned meals to get her kid something edible. My dog had a habit of disposing of weasels that he caught (we lived in a rural idea and had chickens, dog was doing his job and swift in his kills) by burying them on the neighbor's property. So my mom's friend, she made bread. She tried very hard and was very proud. But the thing is the bread tasted like flour. Nothing else, it was genuinely like eating a mouthful of flour despite the dough having actually made itself into something that was visually and texture-wise cooked bread. But it tasted and smelled like pure raw flour and a dash of baking powder. We tried to give it to the dog, who had NEVER refused to eat something a single time in his 7 years of life on this earth so far, not even rice he was allergic to that he threw back up (and that we had to remove before he'd try to eat it again and set himself off in a loop). The dog took that cursed flour loaf and buried it in the weasel mass-grave.

Crazy part is, those boil in bag rice packages cost more than a big bag of rice you have to cook yourself. You get so much less rice. 1 big bag for $8 gets ya 5 dinners for 4 people of 20 meals. $8 of boil in bag rice gets you maybe at the cheapest 8 to 10 meals of you stretch it.
Yeah I was thinking the same thing-my mom used to buy these occasionally and I used to get them when I lived alone because I didn’t know how to make rice..I think I thought it was more difficult than it is. Now we just always have a big 25 lb bag of rice-it’s a much better value since it takes so long before it goes bad and we make it fairly often.
But what’s the point of boiling it in a bag when you can just boil it directly in the water you’re literally doing the same process? And rice is pretty inexpensive. Genuine question as to why these are a thing

My roommate's sweet tea is the best I've ever had! The secret ingredient? Replace one cup of sugar with 2/3 cup of honey! It will be just as sweet but has more depth to it. Insanely good with a squeeze of fresh lemon juice in it.
We boil a teapot worth of water. When it boils you steep the tea bags for 20-30 mins. In a gallon jug you add about a cup and 1/2 of sugar but you can adjust this for taste or add artificial sweetener if you are trying to cut back. Pour the still hot tea water into the jug so the sugar dissolves completely and make sure to stir well. Top off the rest of the jug with cold water and let the jug sit in the fridge overnight or serve over ice. If you want flavored sweet tea you can make infused simple sugar syrups from fruit.
I was born & raised in Kentucky. I use to LOVE sweet tea, however, I moved to Chicago and it took me about 7 years to bring myself to visit Kentucky. During the mean time my whole dietary habits changed since being in Chicago, I took a sip of sweet tea, nearly choked to death 😂 my grandmother proceeded to tell me moving to Chicago made me boujee since I couldn’t drink the syrup that they called sweet tea. Literally felt like I had a sugar high for hours 😂😂😂 now I see why most my family there is on insulin
I love Josh and his Momma. She is so sweet. I would never eat anything she cooks, but her cooking at is clean, she k makes meals before she goes to work, goes home on her lunch break to get stuff for dinner going. It's been exciting to watch her try new things, i give her total respect. She used pepper a few days ago. She tried to cook chorizo. She didn't take it out of the plastic at first, but she got there. Follow Momma's journey, you CANNOT watch and fail to feel so proud of her.

So in Canada we call what you refer to as sweet tea as ice tea. So my dad went on a group trip to the southern US (Nashville, I believe) and he was out at a restaurant and he thought to himself, ice tea would be great right now. He ordered an ice tea. When he took his first sip he was horrified because it was literally that. Iced tea. No sugar in sight 😂😂 he didn't realize down there that what we call ice tea in Canada is referred to as sweet tea. So he began dumping sugar packs into his drink as fast as possible until it was something he could drink. He learned his lesson 😂😂😂
@@profoundpunk it doesn't really exist outside of being a hot beverage which we just call tea. We don't usually put ice in our tea. And if we do, it's with honey or other sweeteners.

13:13 - 13:45 and 15:12 - 15:34 that's a product called, boil in bag rice. There's multiple types of rice and quinoa. It makes cooking rice easy because all you have to do is put the bag (made of a special type of plastic which is safe) so you just put it in a pot of water instead of having to measure the grains. The bag has holes in it so you can conveniently strain the water then just open it and serve. It's especially nice since the rice isn't touching the bottom of the pan then the rice never burns. It's really handy product. I've seen multiple comments of people judging and hating on boil in the bag rice but that stuff is amazing.
Right? I’m southern, and I feel like I put too much when I do a cup and a half 😅. We do 1 1/4 cup of sugar usually and that’s just enough, if we wanted a more sweet batch I’d push it to 1 1/2 cups.
She could make some great homemade food with junk pots and pans and cookware. All she has to do is use actual ingredients instead of canned and processed everything.
My tea: 1.)I fill a pot close to the top with water 2.)let it boil 3.)place 8 small teabags in 4.)let it sit and steep for 3 hours with a lid on 5.)pour into a big pitcher 6.)add 1 and a half cups of sugar 7.)fill rest with water 8.)mix generously 9.)place in fridge for 4 or more hours 10.)enjoy
I was always told New Year’s Day dinner needed to be pork and cabbage. Pork for health and cabbage for wealth. I always asked for a salad with cabbage instead of cooking it because I hated the smell. For whatever reason mom refused.
@@nyphira Maybe the bag is made from like rice paper or something so it's actually edible? I just thought it wasn't on the fire and they had the bag in there for later, never heard of bag cookable rice, not a thing where I live.
May I ask what culture this tradition stems from? Most white Americans only have the tradition of getting drunk (but that’s the same tradition for every holiday) 😆😅
I know you mean the beans, but my brain immediately went to the band and let me tell you that was a very interesting mental image, the Black Eyed Peas pulling up to your house and blessing you with good fortune 😂
Usually South. My dad was from Atlanta and he cooked black eyed peas and collard greens every New Year's day. I live in Florida and after Christmas Publix puts canned black eyed peas and fresh collards on BOGO at the front of the store.
Trash Cansgiving. When you throw something away in the trash, it's gone. You can't resurrect something for food from the trash can. This is why I don't eat everyone's food. Steep 4-6 teabags in 1 gallon of hot water then stir in 2 - 3 cups of sugar. Fill cup full of ice, pour tea over ice, ice eventually dilutes sweet tea to perfection. They showed everything but the finished mac-n -cheese or did I miss it.
Man you guys really put THAT much sugar in tea? 2-3 cups is INSANE. It's like a cup per liter. It's literally more than a QUARTER CUP of sugar per cup of tea. That's anywhere from 10 to 20 packets of sugar like the ones you get on coffee shops on Each Cup .
@@_korbo_ I like making my tea concentrated and dilute it too the person's liking. That's what the ice is for. I don't recommend drinking my tea as is straight out of the pitcher. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 My tea comes with a warning. Dilute before consuming. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
I use that kind of rice she used. You keep it in the bag an boil it for 5 min. Let it sit for another min then open bag which is super easy cuz of all the tiny holes for the water an steam to get through. I use it when I make red beans an rice. I usually use two bags tho one aint enough for more than two or 3 people imo
13:44 there exists rice packs that are specifically supposed to be cooked with the plastic around it xD. It's so you don't have to drain the water afterwards, but it's incredibly awkward to use. Onoy name I can remember it went by, was parboiled rice, but I somehow don't think that was a brand xD. But thank god I learned how to cook early enough so I could finally eat some real rice though xD, it's actually rly important to rinse some of the starch off before you cook, makes all the difference. Which is an impossible task with the rice in those plastic bags, I tried several times.
Hey Ken, my wife Jessica is a huge fan and recently just lost her sight. So if you could give her a shout out and for her to here it would make her life. Thank you Buff and Ken
For anyone curious; the new years meal is black eyed peas, collard green and hogjaw, ours also had cornbread but not everyone I know that had the family tradition did the cornbread. it is supposed to be for health, money and happiness from what I was told as a kid. You also had to eat everything regardless of whether or not you liked it, the only time of the year that my moms forced me to eat collards. I asked my mom about it back then and what she explained to me was that the peas symbolize coins, greens are paper money, cornbread is gold and the hog jaw is for health, anyone with wealth and health will be happy because they will want for nothing.
PSA; New years day- Black-eyed peas, turnips(not collards) both fine in cans, a glazed ham, and fresh cornbread(unsweet, extra butter) Eat and nap for a couple days, best way to start the year. Sweet tea=2cups sugar per gallon
Im from New York and the first experience I ever had with sweet tea was driving through georgia and the waitress asked if we wanted some sweat tea, didn't ask what we wanted to drink, just "yall want some sweet tea?" Growing up with just brisk iced tea we were dumbstruck when it came out
Next time I see my mom and older sisters I am going to give them a big hug and thank them for teaching me how to cook. I am making homemade Mac n cheese tonight, and just looking at that canned yellow mush with the kraft singles on it hurts my soul.
Sunset tea is the best but you have to have patience because you put the tea bags in your favorite pitcher and set it outside all day, then by the time the sun goes down. Head out into the yard get your pitcher and fix yourself some tea. PATIENCE IS KEY.
Growing up, we had a coffee maker specifically to make sweet tea lol. Now I just boil it in a pot and use 2 cups of sugar. I will never give up the sweet tea.

My roommate's sweet tea is the best I've ever had!
The secret ingredient? Replace one cup of sugar with 2/3 cup of honey! It will be just as sweet but has more depth to it. Insanely good with a squeeze of fresh lemon juice in it.
I'd love to see a trifecta of Ken, Dane and August The Duck reacting to terrible chefs together. That would be hilarious.
I unironically love these guys and watch them all the time😂😂😂 they’re so wholesome
Eating while seeing awful food. Love you Ken!
Honestly! If I'm gonna have that much sugar in a drink, I'd rather have a soda lmao
In my house, you pour the hot tea over ice in the pitcher to immediately cool it off. It’s how my great grandmother did it and it tastes perfect!
Watch their newer videos! She just made prison brownies lmao. They crack me up. Mama has been getting a lil better lately! She's learning 🙏🏼 I was utterly appalled with the first few videos I watched but at the end of the day this sweet woman always feeds her family and their home is clearly full of love. Many people could only dream of such things.
Love watching you guys make my day ❤️ Thanks Guys ❤
I already knew this mom was a faker because she has the decorative pioneer woman kitchen ware and isn’t using a single piece of it for her “cooking”.
I thought the same when I noticed the pioneer woman stuff 🤣 to be fair my own momma cooks and bakes a whole lot and is a wonderful baker but most of that decorative pioneer woman stuff she don’t touch for her actual cooking much except for the bowls lol
Right. It's just decor. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Some of the old cooking pots pans utensils Pyrex are WORTH BIG $$$$😊
@@marianaduran6898make sure the label is shown as 'PYREX' rather than 'pyrex' though! that's how you know what's real and what isn't
I’ve done a deep dive on their page and they’re very much real especially those thanksgiving videos her family brought crazy food over too
She knows ALL the prison/ jail recipes and don't release her to the public!
People usually complain we have too much sweet tea in the South, so this is a new one for me! What do you call unsweet tea in Canada??
@@profoundpunk it doesn't really exist outside of being a hot beverage which we just call tea. We don't usually put ice in our tea. And if we do, it's with honey or other sweeteners.
@@profoundpunk our iced tea is nestea, brisk etc. sweet tea or iced unsweetened tea is not a thing here
@@profoundpunkIced tea without any sugar would usually be labelled as unsweetened or sugar is replaced with stevia, etc. , but I don't think I've ever seen it completely unsweetened.
Danes laugh always brightens my day. So pure lol
Josh and Momma are so wholesome though, like the food looks gross but they fill me with good feels regardless.
I've seen multiple comments of people judging and hating on boil in the bag rice but that stuff is amazing.
when Ken brought up the 3 cups of sugar in the sweet tea I felt diabetes creepin up 💀😂
Right? I’m southern, and I feel like I put too much when I do a cup and a half 😅. We do 1 1/4 cup of sugar usually and that’s just enough, if we wanted a more sweet batch I’d push it to 1 1/2 cups.
I love sweet tea!!! They make boil in bag rice. The bag works as a strainer for the extra water
Ken, there is rice that you’re supposed to cook in the plastic bag. Like it says so on the box.
Lived off those in uni
So bad for you
Helps you get your microplastics in for the day
You made the sucking/suction noise spot on. replayed it several times. Phenomenal
Ive seen the ham one on my own on tiktok and it made me grateful that i didnt have to eat that for Thanksgiving
I like how he said “ok they have spices back here” but it’s actually pill bottles 5:03
off the bat... what we not gonna do is we not gonna even act like kay and lee could ever be challenged by these 2
Just gotta say ive watched you both daily for many many years and you guys have always been my favourite sesh buddies 😂❤
She has really nice pots and pans and cookware. She could make some great homemade food!
She could make some great homemade food with junk pots and pans and cookware. All she has to do is use actual ingredients instead of canned and processed everything.
My tea:
1.)I fill a pot close to the top with water
2.)let it boil
3.)place 8 small teabags in
4.)let it sit and steep for 3 hours with a lid on
5.)pour into a big pitcher
6.)add 1 and a half cups of sugar
7.)fill rest with water
8.)mix generously
9.)place in fridge for 4 or more hours
10.)enjoy
I was always told New Year’s Day dinner needed to be pork and cabbage. Pork for health and cabbage for wealth. I always asked for a salad with cabbage instead of cooking it because I hated the smell. For whatever reason mom refused.
Yep pork and krout make it every year.😊
as a southerner I’ll just say
bless her heart
Its boil in-bag rice 😂 its a real thing kids
Whaaaat
It’s not awful 😂
I'm just dying watching Ken struggle and fail to find the "potion" like 5 times in this video.
The parboiled rice in the little punctured packa are really good, I cook them in stock tastes great
i love that shit
12:30 bro sounds like boomhauer 😂😂😂
That’s the rice you boil in the bag. I hate it 😂
Thats atrocious. Why is that a thing😭
@@nyphira i dont taste plastic or smth like that
@@nyphira Maybe the bag is made from like rice paper or something so it's actually edible? I just thought it wasn't on the fire and they had the bag in there for later, never heard of bag cookable rice, not a thing where I live.
When Ken says "boil" his southern accent really shines through
Black Eyed Peas are supposed to bring you good fortune for the next year. My dad cooks them every year for New Year’s.
May I ask what culture this tradition stems from? Most white Americans only have the tradition of getting drunk (but that’s the same tradition for every holiday) 😆😅
Not sure if it's a specific culture but my father always said it was an Irish thing but I know that the South adopted it@@Super_Grover_
@@Super_Grover_"most white americans" according to who?
I know you mean the beans, but my brain immediately went to the band and let me tell you that was a very interesting mental image, the Black Eyed Peas pulling up to your house and blessing you with good fortune 😂
Usually South. My dad was from Atlanta and he cooked black eyed peas and collard greens every New Year's day. I live in Florida and after Christmas Publix puts canned black eyed peas and fresh collards on BOGO at the front of the store.
They forgot to mention how Momma lays the can lid, dirty side down, on the counter! I love her!
I'm convinced his mom, as sweet as she is, grew up in one of those old oil/chemical towns in the south.
I’m from England and I can confirm you sound southern as hell ❤️😂 love you both
Just saw her shorts on yt, her cooking makes me appreciate my mom's cooking even tho it's rubbish lol
Wow, imagine having wealth but no skills
"She's trying to summon Big Ed in a past life"😂
Hey Ken, my wife Jessica is a huge fan and recently just lost her sight. So if you could give her a shout out and for her to here it would make her life. Thank you Buff and Ken
Your wife ...? Is this a bit?
Omg.... This is like prepper cooking. There ain't nothing fresh going in her oven lol
thank god, was looking for something to watch while eating
me 2 💀
For anyone curious; the new years meal is black eyed peas, collard green and hogjaw, ours also had cornbread but not everyone I know that had the family tradition did the cornbread. it is supposed to be for health, money and happiness from what I was told as a kid. You also had to eat everything regardless of whether or not you liked it, the only time of the year that my moms forced me to eat collards.
I asked my mom about it back then and what she explained to me was that the peas symbolize coins, greens are paper money, cornbread is gold and the hog jaw is for health, anyone with wealth and health will be happy because they will want for nothing.
it is my birthday! thank you
My whole day brightens when yall post a video
PSA; New years day- Black-eyed peas, turnips(not collards) both fine in cans, a glazed ham, and fresh cornbread(unsweet, extra butter) Eat and nap for a couple days, best way to start the year. Sweet tea=2cups sugar per gallon
I love Josh and Momma! They are so cute and wholesome
Im from New York and the first experience I ever had with sweet tea was driving through georgia and the waitress asked if we wanted some sweat tea, didn't ask what we wanted to drink, just "yall want some sweet tea?" Growing up with just brisk iced tea we were dumbstruck when it came out
The rice is a common thing I see here. Instant bagged rice with holes you boil the bag then dump it out.
Next time I see my mom and older sisters I am going to give them a big hug and thank them for teaching me how to cook.
I am making homemade Mac n cheese tonight, and just looking at that canned yellow mush with the kraft singles on it hurts my soul.
You gotta boil your sugar down in a separate pan while you're boiling the tea! Perfectly mixed in and no sugar sludge at the bottom of the pitcher!
The faces ken and Dane made when she digs for the lids had me 😂😂
Sunset tea is the best but you have to have patience because you put the tea bags in your favorite pitcher and set it outside all day, then by the time the sun goes down. Head out into the yard get your pitcher and fix yourself some tea. PATIENCE IS KEY.
She is the family member we ask to bring the drinks to family gatherings here in the south...
5:05 Ken- that is MEDICATION not spices lmao
When he turned that can of spam out into the baking tray... I seriously got a shiver throughout my body. This should be a crime
I JUST LMAO when he said "olll"... I've always picked on the hubby for saying it like that.
I'm had a bad day at school and seeing your videos makes me happy 😁
Growing up, we had a coffee maker specifically to make sweet tea lol. Now I just boil it in a pot and use 2 cups of sugar. I will never give up the sweet tea.
Love you guys, you always make me laugh!
YESSSSS I have been waiting on you to find this. I’m not sure how to send things to them sooooo glad you did!!!!!!!!❤😂😂😂😂😂
