I didn't dislike your results as much as you did. But, I really like how you brokedown the possible reasons why it didn't work as advertised for you. I thought you were really spot on with that too!
I’m honestly baffled you don’t have more subscribers!!! You make some amazing wavy hair videos! I’m just starting to embrace my natural waves and curls and I love watching you and swavy Courtney!
I love your videos and I've watched and commented on all of them. I would agree, not your best hair day. We all have them! I don't like to microplop after adding product. I think it removes too much. I've tried microplopping like you did, doesn't work for me either. I've also tried pixie diffusing first vs hovering and the jury is still out. I always love your honesty and like how you show not so great wash days. Most people only show their great days which isn't realistic.
Lol! Since I basically taught myself how to style by watching Courtney and adjusting where needed, I did a very similar method for at least a year 😅 BUT I am planning to make an SCC video anyway 😆 SOON! 💗
Her method is what I follow most nearly. I use the denman brush with gel and have to add more gel a la Smasters toward the end of drying. It has been a journey. I think your hair looks great.
My hair is fine, low density & very loose wavy so finger coiling doesn't work for me. My sister's is thick & curly and it works miracles for her. I haven't tried this yet but I will and we'll see how it goes. I'm glad you didn't get discouraged because your wash day didn't turn out as well as you hoped. We all know that no one thing works for everybody. Btw I thought you were speaking into a bottle of mousse 🤣
I am Team Squish to Condish💆♀️ I used to smoosh products, but I have learned, with your help, that keeping styling products off of my scalp produces results with much more volume🌟 While I understand your opinion that these results are not as perfect as You are used to, I still liked your overall waves💜👸💜 Sorry about your mini microphone🎤 Keep the Wonderful Info Videos coming!🥳
I don't think it looks terrible, but I agree that it didn't do your hair justice. In fact, I was interested to see what you thought was the problem because my hair has been looking similar to these results even with old techniques that used to work great for me. I think the haircut probably plays a big role with the extensive layers. I cut mine with a bunch of layers a month or so ago (I have similar hair texture to yours, just a bit more dense) and I have noticed that it doesn't hold the "spiral" clumps as well anymore and tends to go stringy or wonky a lot on the ends. :( So I like all the volume I got with the layers, but I think for some of us the layers can affect the wavy-curl pattern retention more than for other people. For myself I will probably go much lighter on the layering my next cut and might cut off an inch or so of the longest layers to see if it helps in the meantime.
I tried her top down method. Disaster. 😬 I didn’t think your results were terrible, but definitely not your best wash day. It’s funny how different results work so differently for every head of hair.
Thank you! I definitely could’ve made some simple changes to it to make it work better for me, but I like showcasing how it works when followed as closely as possible
So I tried this method a few times because I like to experiment and I made a few adjustments. Comb the leave in conditioner to even distribute and stc. Then let the clumps form however make sure the hair at the bottom of your neck isn't pull forward but pulled to the sides so it's still in front of you and you're able to reach the back of your hair, essentially splitting your hair down the middle in the back but the top is still pulled forward if that makes sense. Next use mousse, (I used cake beauty or NYM). I find mousse is ALOT easier to distribute then gel. Next really scrunch your hair for even application. I would not recommend this wash day with a hard hold gel, you want something light and airy. Next either dry plop and microplop or just microplop. Get a second towel and microplop again to remove as much water as possible if only microplopping (I prefer this). Next i would suggest hover diffusing just the roots for a min or two to add a tiny bit of movement and then proceed to pixie diffuse. I would let the clumps stay that way until maybe 50% dry, then start moving your hair around to get some movement in their and so things are not stuck to your roots. I also recommend not diffusing until completely dry, maybe like 70% and give your head a very slight shake with your hair tilted backwards to loosen anything up and then spritz then ends with water if a little frizzy and do smasters if needed. Let air dry completely and then SOTC with or without oil. I have gotten literally ringlets on my head using this method and I have 2a-2b. It's alot but I get excited when you try different techniques
Hey, what's the deal with airline food? Lol JK! Stand-up comedian! Lmao 🤣 I loved the video. I agree with you about the method of smooshing...I can't smoosh and it turns out for me. I'm a scruncher and a pulser lol
Wavy hair is really not the same as curly hair. Not the same things work for them... I prefer to make my own new methods that work on my wavy hair rather than try methods for curly hair.
This is a method for wavy hair, but mine is looser than Katie’s :) I could’ve tweaked things to make it work better for me, but I like to try the methods as is to show how it works for me the way they suggest
@@iDmple my channel is here for spreading more info specifically on all the different types of wavy hair, so I have to point out that that is incorrect. Type 2 hair often has spirals/ringlets, but they start lower down on the hair shaft because of the way the hair follicle is shaped. It acts differently and needs different care from Type 3 curly hair. It’s very interesting stuff :) I don’t think this method would work well on curly hair
Type “My hair is like” and let the predictive text finish the sentence!
Mine will be below ⬇️
My hair is like so cute too but it’s so hard lol
My hair is like so much better now than I’ve been in the past couple years

Jordan we neeeeed, the swing curl clump method. I have a good feeling about this one haha.

@@JordanFaith ahahaha right ?! I figured, but yes let's make it official 🤍😆
Ps she has also taught me so much !! I love her.
Looks cute and springy I wouldn't say fail. I think that kind of " fat" curs are easier to get on thicker textured hair not fine hair

I feel the same, and I plan to grow out most of my layering as well in favor of being able to get a little more spiraling like I used to 😊
