Imo I think that gaming is the hardest and most saturated niche to grow in on UA-cam. There has to be thousands of people starting a gaming channel every day. At this point to go viral gaming you have to be already established for years, be like a pro player and insanely good at the game or hit a giant stroke of luck and go viral like ishowspeed did
Great video!! As a small content creator on UA-cam (using alt account to tell you about these tactics), I know how hard it is to gain traction and attention from the beginning. Like many of you people, I was tired of creating quality content almost every day and getting only a few hundred views on my best days because of their algorithm. After that, I tried using some tools to ramp up my social presence, and honestly I don't regret it. Consistency, and hard work (and you have to use a little bit of Famester as well) would always pay off. Good luck to all of you, you are going to make it soon.
Im sticking to 1 niche, and I have a good impression click through rate at 15% usually, yet my videos don’t get over 40-50 impressions per video, with like 10-20 views on average, what am I doing wrong?

(Because he really is, it's unreal the things he's managed to do)
In my opinion, no good gaming channel is about games. These creators are so talented that they could make content about pretty much anything, but the game is the medium they've chosen. People go to their channels for them, not the games they play.
You guys should cover gaming news/review channels and how they tell stories. There’s a lot of well known creators in that space. RGT85, Spawnwave, Player Essence, Wulff Denn, Beatemups, The Completionist, ACG, IGN, Gamespot, etc.

I love the idea of not just settling on one game. How do I grow a new channel playing multiple games like they do? They all do something unique in their own ways. How do I find what's unique about myself that I can implement into my videos? great video btw!
To find what's unique about yourself, you'd have to look deeply into your skill sets and personality. Keep in mind that gaming is entertainment. So, as a gamer/youtuber, you need to entertain your audience your own way.
I just got a VidIQ ad in the middle of a VidIQ video! Nice Placement! Anyways, I'm going to go apply some of this to my long form automotive channel now.

I agree with what is said about these styles of gaming channels, however, I am probably in the minority when I say, I don't care for these types of channels. I typically watch game plays with commentary, like Hollow, or IGP. Even Caspersight with his twitch streams. No challenge, like watch me play this game with just my elbows. Fellow UA-camrs, I just wanted to remind you that you are capable of achieving great things. Whatever challenges you are facing right now, remember that you have the strength, resilience, and determination to overcome them. Keep pushing forward, stay positive, and never give up on your dreams. You got this!
How would you tell a story if your playing FPS games. I play battlefield and record most of the time in case I have a good round that either something happens or I do pretty good etc. I then look back and see what is good and keep that bit and get rid of any videos that i don't need. Of course though i do play with out recording too. That said to do want to branch out though, one I know want to upload cities skylines. I want to play other games but not sure what because most games I hsbe is a few years old or older, and single player story games. I don't want to be stuck to one game or one type of game.
A story doesnt have to be like a story would be. You could do a challenge and the narrative is that you fail at the start, then you get some close rounds where you nearly beat the challenge and then the final round you win. These types of narratives rely heavily on you personality and entertainment though as people wont sit and watch someone beat a challenge when they are not invested. Hope that helps
@@jackbaldwin2307 ok, I just play like I normally do, like playing the objective, revive lots if I'm medic etc. or try to do good. depending on the round it can feel like a sequence, like if I'm playing battlefield 1, it being WW1 its easy to play it like climatically. then there is the fact I don't want/feel comfortable with doing commentary. the easiest to do a "story" would be the cities skylines game

to my personal experience , I first thought every video dies when I upload a new one (because youtube pushed out my short for a day and stopped most of the time) but when I got high engaging shorts and long videos , they never stopped getting views no matter how many videos I post after em , one of my shorts is getting 500 views per day constantly for like a month now but there are 10s of shorts afterwards , same goes for long videos
@@AliChitax hi..I have a doubt..last week my uploaded shorts got 1k-2k views constantly after some days shorts not getting pushed to short feed as a result less than 20 views ..why this happening?
@@AliChitax Yeah, I guess in case of doubt I’ll just wait for another day before posting a new short. That way I won’t kill my current growth. Thank you for your feedback!😊
@@tamilvanan5071 it has happened to me as well. Apparently UA-cam’s algorithm for shorts treats each short individually regardless of your previous success.
You really should stick to your schedule 😉

What do you guys think about a blindfolded mario kart run on the nes? I'm not too far away from it on the first cup at 50cc, but can't hit all tracks in one go, which discourages me to put a clean video together. + my head moving is looking just ridiculous :D
Please can you make a full guide on new youtube promotions BETA? I wonder if it take payment directly from my ads revenu from adsense or does it charge my connected bank account?
Helpful video.
I needed this.
Can I ask you? Why does it only says copyright not copyright claims on my videos? Or these two are just the same?
🙏4000 hour's complete going towards subs it's hard climb but it's hard haha
Fellow UA-camrs, I just wanted to remind you that you are capable of achieving great things. Whatever challenges you are facing right now, remember that you have the strength, resilience, and determination to overcome them. Keep pushing forward, stay positive, and never give up on your dreams. You got this!
I hope everyone has a great day and good luck on your channels
bro u are the best for our small gaming channel
I think that acctually majority of the gamers are actually passionate about the games they play and that's how they go viral :)
i just play visual novels i just count myself lucky to have everyone here
I feel like my content is too spread out, but I don’t know where to go from here :/
How would you tell a story if your playing FPS games.
@@Pennox122 Then go for it man. UA-cam is all about what works for you as long as you enjoy it
great vid
No way I missed this upload when it was released 😓
He can’t help to record an audio live while you’re filming and then do a voiceover and sometimes I’ve done a voice over to a voiceover, which is also added value, but I don’t know where all those videos are there not currently live on my thing
It can help…****
Hello VIDIQ
I have 2 different UA-cam watch hours on my UA-cam channel. Over 5k watch hours on my data, even VidIq gave me a certificate for it but yet on the monetization calculator(and on my VidIq account dashboard, I have just over 3k watch hours. Why is there a discrepancy?
Shorts hours don't count towards monetization I'm afraid
@@jackbaldwin2307 but from my observation, there are no shorts hours in the calculation, I even have a single long video with over 5k hours, yet by monetization calculation, I don't have 4k hours yet
@@circlesdigital I dont know then, sorry. Might not have updated or something
@@jackbaldwin2307 Thanks bro, I m on 4k watch hours already
