I recommend keeping your SFX all on the same track and placing a hard limiter effect on it so the SFX don't exceed a certain threshold/level. It helps cut back on having to edit clips one by one and it also prevents your sounds from being louder than your voice. I usually do this with 3 tracks; one for voice, one for music or gameplay audio, and one for SFX.
Although that would be ideal for the regular sounds like voice or gameplay it wouldnt be too ideal for the SFX Because certain sounds would still need to be manually and individually adjusted due to specific moments in the video for different reasons or because of the sound itself .. but yea the limiter can be used as an overall base like u said so it wont be louder then your voice
Wow I had no idea how much sound effects could improve the audience retention. I currently just use a few sound effects and memes without much thought into the when and where while editing. I realize now I need to slow down when editing and put more thought into using better sound effects for specific parts of the video. Thanks GYGC!
This was super helpful! The thought process of the editing was what I really needed, I wasn't analytically thinking about my edits like that. AND 200 free SFX? Thank you!
I noticed multiple things: different frame every few seconds, bright bold captions, sounds effects, and change of tone (speaking). Definitely need to implement more of these tips in my #smallChannel videos 😊😅 Thanks for sharing!
I couldn't agree more about sound design. My most viewed video has 9.7m on TikTok and I can attribute part of that to the sound effects I used. Just copped your SFX pack. Excited to try!
been using your videos as a big part of my motivation my man! Keep up the good work! Your play button is so close! Appreciate everything you do! From the editing to the helpful tips! I'll be comment again once I'm bigger! I cant stop and wont stop.
lately I've been thinking about new ways to improve my channel and these sounds effects seem effective thank you. and thanks for the gift towards the end.
Thank you so much for an awesome editing video bruh. Not only that, your gift was atleast 200 times more useful. No pun intended 😉. Seriously. Good job bro. 😇 To anyone reading this, please share it to the new youtubers you know. This will definitely help them grow.
I have a thumbnail question, I see a lot of people like AndyReloads use basically the same thumbnail everytime with small differences do you think thats important for building a brand early on? Great video as always.
I'm glad I came across this. I've been doing some of this here and there learning as I go. Now I have a better understanding on where else I can implement these tactics.
Great video! Would you be able to do a full guide in the future for editing in a way that’s optimised for audience retention? (As in including other elements as well as the sound effects in this video)
Really great guidance on a subtle but powerful way to increase retention. I do a little of this now but will do more in my next video which I started editing today. God bless, and I really appreciate your channel!
Whoever is reading DONT give up on your channel. Think about all the hard work that you have already put in. Every youtuber was once in your spot they just kept going. Stay consistent and you will reach your goals. consistent uploads and improvement and some determination is all you need! I am going for 550 subs by the end of February!
I think your videos are helping me with future vids and to sort things out? This is my 2nd channel and trying to work out how to improve both channels within their niche, tighten things up, and expand both.
I edit my videos using premiere pro, I play a variety of different games, when I edit I use sound effects, face cam, background music, and other aspects etc. however, I feel like I may be doing something wrong, when my friends watch my videos or other people I get good feedback but my growth is very slow, anyone got advice?
Idk if this makes sense but I feel like if you believe you're boring you're more likely to actually become it, I think identity is often a self-fulfilling prophecy, we can use it to our advantage
@@djan71 100%! I grew up under a rock and still remain heavily introverted, its been a challenge trying to expose myself to culture and society, and trying to find myself in the process. Hope you have a lovely weekend :>
Whilst this is some great advice, not everyone can afford to use Adobe or want to use it. Whilst these exact same things CAN be done in Davinci Resolve (best free editor hands down, infact better than 90% of paid editors) the workflow is quite different. I think a remake of this video showing people how to do this stuff in Resolve would help a lot more people, and probably reach a wider audience.
Ok great video, I get the point but my audience is between 50-65. I’m in the middle of that age group and find these noises… well.. annoying. Do they still work though? Thanks!
I'm growing my gaming channel this year and I'm useing your advice to do it. However, I have a question is the gaming walkthrough channel a dead niche? I mean just uploading 30 minutes to 1 hour long clips of the latest games that are out? Or do I need to look deeper and pick another niche? Please let me know or ask your followers what they think? Cheers and great work on the content.
I mean you have to think like this: why would someone watch my let's play and not just one of the big already established UA-camrs. This is especially true if it's just gameplay since there isn't really any difference between the videos.
It really sucks for me cause i spend hours on editing and i know im fairly new in the game. But its like not the right people viewing my videos. Its hard
Guys this guy is legit with his programs. I just finished his Udemy course and it legit helps you with everything from software, audio, editing, and products to buy. No other creator goes this in depth as he does.
5:00 he's just making it over complicated, all you need to do is right click the beginning of the audio and select apply default transitions then drag the bar to as long as you want the faintness to go for
If you don't mind being overwhelmed at first. BlackMagic's Davinci Resolve has a free version that basically has everything you could ever want, at least I think it was free or really cheap I can't remember. We switched to it about a month ago and it's been amazing! There are a ton of helpful videos about how to use it and the keybinding can be customized to best fit your needs, too. Only thing I would suggest, if you are working on a budget PC, like we are, turn the settings way down while editing. #NotSponsored
Just basic stuff still works, like the ole "dings", "whooshes" and "pops". But again, look for the main events and just try to exaggerate them by thinking about the sound taht you would associate with them.
