The most important thing that alot of people don't get is that: you can play any game you want, you can react to any game, video on youtube you want, you can play chess, you can do vlogs, cooking etc BUT the most important thing that will keep people going to your channel and staying and connecting with them is YOUR PERSONALITY - that always should be the main factor - so no matter what you do , reacto to, play, stream etc etc your PERSONALITY is always the 99% of your success
Not only that, you need a personal (business) project, or an idea that is ONLY yours, like "I'm making a lil videogame" "I'm starting to learn something and I can show you my journey". If you are a gamer/reacter whatever you want, but you do just that, is not enough to engage people.
@@sertoonss I mean if you just play a game without any reactions, commentary or anything that is entertaining then yup. If you have great personality, humor or you are entertaining with your character, charisma etc then you good
New gaming channel here. Disabled vet who lost his job so I turned to gaming for stress and ptsd relief. Using YT to capture my unadulterated, genuine experience along the way. Let’s go guys and gals. We got this.
New gaming channel here! Was honestly looking forward to a video like this to try to learn as much as I can. I'm a bartender and I love video games, so I combine the two with 'let's play' gamestyle and mixing cocktails, but I'm honestly just having a great time. I've told myself time and time again, it doesn't matter about the subs or views, I'm making something I love, and I have a fun time doing it so don't even care. Love your stuff VidIQ!
I just hit 11,100 subscriber today on the first day of 2025, I made this channel as a hobby and over the years even when the channel is much smaller I've been experiencing great stuff. I get a lot of acknowledgement from consumers, community and even brands and I get sent neat toys to play with and make content with, many of which I get to keep. While I'm not able to sustain myself with my UA-cam income yet, I've experienced things that many could only dream of and I'm grateful for that.
yeah bro its hard i made a gaming channel today and posted for the first time i was expecting no views but still hurts when u get none, especially when u edit alot but ima keep pushing wish me luck gang
I've been streaming for a year. Made my first few shorts very recently, got around 400 views on at least one short now. Around 200 views on today's batch, maybe more. Use shorts for highlighting and bringing people to you.
I’ve been working on my channel now for just over a year! And I’ve made massive progress! I pray to all you new creators don’t give up, it will be hard but persevere! ❤
I’m enjoying the newer shift in these videos. I remember back in 2020 and before, when I was a small lad, I watch a bunch of videos saying the same basic things and not many videos like this. But these are so more important to speak on and I 100% agree with as I’ve grown as a UA-camr. I appreciate these a lot, always nice to refresh myself from time to time
Thank you for posting another video about this ! I’m building a gaming channel myself right now, it’s growing but I know that I can do better ! Thank you always for helping others !
I am also very new here . Started a gaming channel at the end of the december. I enjoy playing video games whenever i can on my free time and i always wanted to share my experience with other people. Im glad i finally did it and cant wait to see whats in store in the near future. UA-cam is a learning journey ,the more effort you put on your videos ,the more experience you get and the better you become! I hope everyone achieve their goals .
Never going to start a Gaming Channel but I have been gaming since the Release of the Original Unreal Tournament and Grand Theft Auto. In fact, I still run those games on a Old Windows Machine that still runs and has a Pentium II processor. Gaming channels have to be one of the most competitive spaces out there. So good luck to anyone diving down that deep Rabbit Hole.
Not a gaming channel myself but these are some great tips I can apply to my channel. Plus I haven't watch much gaming channel content in a while, so it's probably a sign for me to discover new gaming creators here on UA-cam!
Made my own youtube gaming channel recently. N gotta say it's tough but fingers cross hope I succeed. Wishing other new gaming channels the best keep on going guys never give up.
I've been doing gaming for years on my channel finally breached 1k subs and almost reached 2k in 2024, but it's pretty much leveled and is climbing very slowly now and has been the past few months, sometimes it's just a matter of whether UA-cam chooses to push your content if you do playthroughs as a small youtuber as you have no reach compared to bigger channels, most subs come from those who make guides in my experience
@SportsTymeStories-h8x absolutely agree likes and comments and views are supposed to be important aswell as watch time I had a vid with over 500 views and a 99% like to view ratio within a few hours and good watch time it never went anywhere yet I've had a video with barely any views and likes or comments get pushed out there and it was nothing special of an episode yet UA-cam pushed it soo much it really doesn't make sense sometimes
Thanks for the vid!! Just started a gaming channel and this was very encouraging!😁 I think the hardest part is just starting- getting the ball rolling and being okay with making improvements down the line. Excited to see what my content will change and evolve into!
I agree with a lot that was said here. Deff intros need to be hooky and straight to the point. I seen some gaming channels where the creator talked for 6 mins about their backstory and such. It wasn’t a live stream just a gameplay but a 6 minute intro is way to long lol. Just a gripe I have 😂. Anyway good luck to us gaming channels! Happy New Year to yall too
You guys got this keep going, remember you are always unique so that’s what you bring different to the table than anybody else does on this platform and in this world
If you are still thinking about starting or not, do it asap. My channel started very slow but it started gaining traction last year and I plan to grow even bigger this year. You can do it guys, don't give up!
I don’t think it’s true the let’s play content is dead. I think it’s just that you need one of three things to have a successful let’s play: -really engaging personality -out of the ordinary gameplay -extraordinary editing/storytelling
Yeah. I also think, in order for a channel to be successful, you can't just follow some formulas as VidIQ suggests. Not anymore. If everything VidIQ said were true, then wouldn't most of their audience be successful by now?
New gaming channel here also…absolutely loving making these videos and continuing to learn and grow. I used to love making and editing videos when I was a kid so it’s really awesome diving into these gaming videos finally.
I’m not just starting my channel this year, but I think I really needed this video. I’ve been within an arms reach of 1k subscribers for the last six months and it been really frustrating me. And it really sucks because it sucks all the joy out of making videos. I think it’s time to start caring more about the subscribers I have and make the videos that I want to make!
Great advice, I can't count the amount of times I've failed and have got back on the UA-cam grind over the years. I made my channel over 2 years ago and it has taken me around 2 and half years to reach 1000 subscribers. My channel is growing faster every month but it is definitely a journey and never a fast one.
I used to follow gaming trends on my channel, but I didn't enjoy doing that. Now I play what I want and post what I want. Just stay consistent and keep posting! Good luck in 2025!

This is exactly what I wanted to do for the longest for my own personal gaming channel here. Im actually thankful to wait and start now! Im streaming games on Twitch while uploading them up on UA-cam
I actually grew a lot more last year than my first year. In my first year I didn't even reach 100 subs and now I have around 370. And videos performed better when I learned how to make them better and do better thumbnails and titles. Hopefully this year I'll be able to grow even more!

Loved this video. It's so refreshing to know that UA-cam success comes from being real with your personality, not chasing the trends. Thanks for reminding me to focus on content I am proud of over views or subscribers. I was starting to lost sight of that with how many videos were telling me I was doing 'youtube wrong'

We’re still in the process of building our channel, anyone have any tips?
New gaming channel here. Thank you so much for sharing tips. I feel so lucky I found this video. I hope you all success on making videos as well. We got this!!!
I decided with my gaming channel, as i have with past owned channels, that i'd focus on that early 2010 era "Funny gaming highlights" and make it feel as organic as possible. My friend and i made an agreement, that the videos have to reflect our friendship and our memories, and not just be made for straight up atemps at entertaining I enjoy keeping that old style alive, albeit it's small stature these days I wish everyone else good luck on their respective journies as gaming youtubers! I hope there is alot of that good, organic content ahead!
this video helped me remember what i do youtube for in the first place, but its still an long road ahead. since i keep hearing that letsplay content is not what people are looking for and its what i really enjoy and what i am using to tell a story it gets hard. but with time i will learn i guess. thank you.
I love how this guy doesn't just give a set of rules that you MUST follow, he suggests being flexible with the tips you induce in your UA-cam channel rather than telling you to do certain things.
As a newer gaming channel this is a very good video that definitely could help us smaller channels grow and learn from our old content and that we all can achieve what we want. I believe in all of you whether you're in the gaming niche or something else.
New gaming channel here! I have found that if you don't like being in front of a camera, you can use a little character or something to represent you. That does go into the Vtuber territory a little but there are different ways to do things if you aren't comfortable 😁. I have a little space character the pops up and down on screen when i talk, and i love it 😊
I started my gaming channel about 5 years ago, but really got serious with it 2 years ago. It was the BEST decision I ever made! I never had SO much fun on UA-cam, EVER!
I do this channel because of my grand father. It has been a dream of mine, and he has always believed I can do it. I can not wait, this year is THE YEAR
As a small channel that is growing your content is always helpful and inspiring, finally a place where we as content creators can learn and teach others.
New gaming channel here. I just hit my first subscriber today after 12 years. I'm really proud of myself and ready to pump out 10 more videos to celebrate that. It's all UA-cam's fault but maybe this year they'll see my greatness!

this video helped me remember what i do youtube for in the first place, but its still an long road ahead. since i keep hearing that letsplay content is not what people are looking for and its what i really enjoy and what i am using to tell a story it gets hard. but with time i will learn i guess. thank you.
Made me rethink my perspective on my journey. You guys are helping hundreds of creators, you got my support👍
Video came out right on time for my channel!😊
Im slowly growing well. I hope i can use these tios to grow even more. Thank you!
Everything about this was awesome!
New gaming channel here! I have found that if you don't like being in front of a camera, you can use a little character or something to represent you. That does go into the Vtuber territory a little but there are different ways to do things if you aren't comfortable 😁. I have a little space character the pops up and down on screen when i talk, and i love it 😊
this helped me a lot thanks man. I hope it worked for other people too!
Don't give up on your dreams. Keep grinding and go crush 'em!🔥
Biggest thing is just staying consistent. Made that change and my views are only getting better
Yessir new UA-camr and streamer focused on gaming content
Your advice is exactly how Ive been approaching my channel and its been alot of fun.
You have 895 subs your telling me you got it all today
@@BigjayPlayz Maybe he meant his first sub in 12 years?
I've hit a subscriber wall too. Only 3 new subscribers in the last 3 months. Sigh. Meanwhile I gained 50 followers on twitch in one night. Haha.
@@z1mvad3r ohhhhhhh okay that makes sense
