Not really. All three wires on the connector cable are black! I need to know which one is positive, negative and source. I think I figured it out but I might have fried the receiver. Would that happen if I had the positive, 3.3v source from the board, go into the source pin on the Lemon?
I have one of these i bought in a box of mystery pieces. .it has a frsky sbus_ppm receiver solderd to it..was wondering if it would bind to my betalite ppm mode module for turnigy? and is it worth fooling with?
Help please. Does anyone have the problem with this board of all motor outputs hitting 8VDC the moment a 2S battery is connected? I have 4 of these boards and they all do this. Any help appreciated, thank you.
I was going to get the Micro F3 Flight Controller Board Buited In DSM / FLYSKY / FRSKY But was wondering if you have a better idea? So what board should i get for my E010 cus you have lots of videos on lots of different types of them But was uncertan on which one to get thanks!!!!! Keep up the great work on your videos!!!!
Is the (Eachine Tiny F3OSD_Brushed Flight Control Board Built-in OSD Betaflight Support SBUS/PPM/DSM) & the (Realacc F3 V1.0 Betaflight Brushed Flight Control Board Integrated OSD) the same thing...if not which is better
got 2 of them from banggood today and neither one of them will connect to cleanflight. when I plug it in I get the red and blue light but no comport comes up for the board. Any suggestions?
i just received the same FC and just downloaded cleanflight for the first time and installed the cp210x drivers on my mac and when i connect i get this message "No configuration received within 10 seconds, communication failed" i cant seem to figure this out.
JohnnySlash hey its the radio that comes with it.. do antenna mod on that, or do what i did and use a micro frame and solder motors straight to the board.. check out my channel, video there on it
I'm thinking about working with this (or similar) and my Syma X5SW. Overall it's relatively stable stock, but could benefit from a better FC for sure. What all have you tried with the X5C-1? I found a brushed motor controller for $5 that you can use in pairing with an official SP Racing F3 board, specifically designed to drop into a Syma quad for FC upgrades.
Here's the motor controller, I'm going to try this with an original SPRacingF3 EVO board. www.readytoflyquads.com/brushed-motor-driver For FC I'm gonna use one of these, but not one that expensive sheesh: www.getfpv.com/electronics/electronic-flight-controllers/mini-flight-controllers/sp-racing-f3-flight-controller-deluxe.html That'll give you accelerometer/gyro, as well as compass and barometer (altitude hold!), and support for adding GPS and sonar later. You could almost build a mini-Phantom based on this, piece by piece. The only point that'll fall short is the camera, as your Syma won't really have the thrust for a DJI-grade gimbal and camera.
Hi Albert, great videos you have and very helpful. I'm very new at this quad game but slowly learning thanks to all the great, helpful videos. I have a question regarding a Lemon 0008 satellite receiver that I am trying hopelessly to bind to my Spektrum DX6 and an SPRacing EVO3 FC with a built in DSMX receiver. I'm not sure what pin is what on the Lemon satellite receiver? Looking at the receiver from above with the antenna wires at the bottom, which of the three pins are what? Thanks.
Hi Albert great video! I m new in this and i have a problem. the motors keep spinning when a connect the battery! I can connect it in CF but the motors keep spinning! I cant Flass it to BF! message in the log: Unrecoverable failure or serial connection,
Always save UART first, save/reboot then select Serial RX, then SBUS, save/reboot. If it's not taking, reboot your computer. The USB port may be stuck/busy... If that doesn't work, reflash the board... If you can't reflash, try another computer. The 32-bit ones have a higher chance of working than the 64-bit ones. After that, I'm out of ideas. Good luck!
Albert Kim when you said change the uarts, are we talking about setting the correct ports? If so like you mentioned the port options wont save, but I'll try the technique you mentioned.
Nice video man! I got a few questions though: If I enable the ACC for self leveling, what gyro and PID frequencies should I use? And how did you come up with the motor_pwm_rate value?
+Willem Vergouwen if you use the ACC just leave the settings at defaults. The motor_pwm_rate is from somewhere on RCgroups. I don't remember the reasoning behind the number. It varies motor to motor. Someone must have tested it and found the right number.
Thanks for the explanation! If I want to flash the board with betaflight, do I have to short the bootloader pins the whole time, when installing the drivers and flashing betaflight? And after that disconnect the bootloader pins?
Watch the video linked in the description. The procedure is the same as the Lux flight controller. It's a lot of steps to explain and the video is pretty good.
The buzzer that I have is the one that came with my KK2 FC. They are not exactly super small. But I cannot find anything smaller than this. I think it is these: www.banggood.com/PC-Computer-Motherboard-Interanal-BIOS-Alarm-Buzzer-Speaker-10pcs-p-967095.html
Hi! I bought the same board for 2S project. When I did connect it to CleanFlight, I got a error message: "No configuration received within 10 seconds, communication failed" All drivers from the linked video are installed. Should I flash this board first to make it talk to my PC? Thank you! I really like your channel!
Thank you Albert! Thing is, I did not flash this board. As I can understand from your video, you did connect this board to the computer straight "out of the box" I think this must be a Windows drivers issue.
Hi Albert.. great vid. very helpful. I managed to flash betaflight in chip. but when I connect now.. nothing happens. there's no viritual comport or anything nx to connect. installed zadig, etc etc.. pls help
Albert Kim thanks Albert. just managed to "fix" it. it's Alive!! ! hahaha. in case it helps anyone else, make sure u actually install the stm32 drivers. also if using zadig dun do what I did and install the wrong driver. make sure it says BOOTLOADER!! if all else fails.. use the impulserc drive fixer!! tat worked for me finally. thanks again Albert. been a great help so far. can wait to build my microvoo. :)
I don't have that board and don't know much about it except what I've read on RCGroups. I decided to not buy it because people seemed to have issues with the board and it was kinda pricey compared to the Scisky. With all these new F3 board options coming out, I doubt I would ever consider buying a Beef's board.
Hi Albert to you know if I can connect a telemetry module on one UART and the other for a GPS module? The idea is to build a mini quadcopter with telemetry connection to the pc and a GPS module and I was wondering if this controller is suitable. Thanks!
Great video! I got the one with the built-in flysky rx but i lost the rx antenna mini wire. Do you have any suggestion how to replace it and solder a new one? I don't know what kind of wire i need....thx!
I'm new to quads and am planning on using this flight controller for my first build. I'm on a budget and was wondering if I can use the ppm reciever from my current quadcopter
what does setting the pwm motor rate do? iam building a really awesome brushed quad and wanna make sure im getting the most out of my setup. please help.
You need to set it between 4000 and 32000 for brushed motors. Otherwise they spin up when you power on the quad. The exact rate for your motors will depend on your manufacturer's recommendation or specs. However, most don't provide this info. I usually just use 16000 and that seems to work well for me.
i have found that many boards just don't behave and will spin the motors no matter what you set the pmw to 4000-32000 or 1000 the default in CF... so if you open up your FC with BF and type in set motor_pwm_rate = 1000 and save it always works! no idea why CF won't do the job
no BF doesn't do the auto motor spin after flashing but that happens lots with flashing CF and the fix is to open BF and set the pmw . BF's CLI will allow you to enter code in a flashed CF board.
Sorry, i have a flysky fs-i6 , i was wondering if this board has a built- in receiver i can use with this transmitter, or i need to attach one to SBUS. I see that the one you compare it to has an antena. Thanks.
How was this a review? you didn't fly it, test it, comment about it, it was just flashing it, I sat through that whole thing waiting for the review and just got settings. did you try it in 2 cell mode with some 2010s? or anything else besides flash it?
On my channel I typically do a bench review video 1st and additional videos later. I did build it and fly it. Watch this video.... ua-cam.com/video/Ofl808RRGOU/v-deo.html I will be trying 2-cells later but I am waiting for some brushed motors that are rated for 2-cells. That video will come later. I've also flown this on several other videos. If you look around my channel you'll see them.
Any idea how to add osd to a board like this? Because the f3 brushed fcs with osd have only 1s capability and this could support 2s but doesn't have any osd :/
Hi, this contoller is compatible with INAV Firmware? Tks
Not really. All three wires on the connector cable are black! I need to know which one is positive, negative and source. I think I figured it out but I might have fried the receiver. Would that happen if I had the positive, 3.3v source from the board, go into the source pin on the Lemon?
Do you know which FET this board uses for driven motors?
Hi! I wanna add my self made arduino remote controll with this board.I am not understanding the connections! Please help!

not support OSD?
i just received the same FC and just downloaded cleanflight for the first time and installed the cp210x drivers on my mac and when i connect i get this message "No configuration received within 10 seconds, communication failed" i cant seem to figure this out.
You need to replace your USB driver with the Zadig tool
Albert Kim I'll try that asap, i thought that the zadig tool was for windows only, thanks.
It is for Windows. If you're getting this error on a Mac, I don't know what the issue is... they don't usually have driver problems.
Hi Albert. Could you use this FC in a Syma X5C-1? I've got a Syma with range problems and I think this might be a solution.
Hmmm, this won't fix that problem and it would be a major hard project to boot... I would not even bother trying.
Maybe you're right. I've done the antenna mods but it still flies away. I'll eventually do something with it. Cheers Albert ;)
JohnnySlash hey its the radio that comes with it.. do antenna mod on that, or do what i did and use a micro frame and solder motors straight to the board.. check out my channel, video there on it

+Joseph Guarrasi Not sure myself... did a Google search reveal any images?
Can you show a detailed video on how to connect the leds?
much obliged for this succinct and on point video. Helps a lot when getting feet wet with a new FC.
so you would have to use a aio camera to have it filtered then as it would have to wire on to the battery pad?
+agrs1974 aka Andy Sommerville yes, the aio has filtering
Albert I have just set one of these up but it wont save my min and max throttle. Just reverts back to 1150 and 1850.
Any ideas?
Thanks
It's a setting in cleanflight. I recommend flashing betaflight.
Albert Kim got it sorted ta. was unable to flash BF without jumping the boot pads. couldnt be bothered stripping it lol
a question. to connect my quad. It is accelerating alone. I have activated the engine oppcion stop!
in CLI enter these commands
set fast_pwm_protocol = OFF
set motor_pwm_rate = 32000
save
Thanks again!.
Any ideas why the F3 won't respond to the throttle channel inputs?
I don't know. I need more information to diagnose.
when I power up my board and tip it one way, it corrects in the wrong direction.....???? any suggestions, the props ARE on the right way.
check motor wires are correct polarity?
+Albert Kim (marblekit) bingo, works nicely now.
Greetings ... I want to ask about the cable that connects from the card to the computer ... what reference does it have, where do I get it?
Hi, does anyone replace the fets on these boards for better ones ?

Great!!! that helpt me! thanx! :)
Comment je fait pour apairer avec une radio flysky fs-i6 ?!
what receiver are you using?
is there any way to get a voltage readout of the battery on this board? i have it on an eachine e010 whoop.
You could add an OSD chip... there is also an AIO F3 with OSD that you can see in today's Haul video.
i cant get cleanflight to save port and sbus options, betaflight wont work grrrr... help
Always save UART first, save/reboot then select Serial RX, then SBUS, save/reboot. If it's not taking, reboot your computer. The USB port may be stuck/busy... Yes, UART = port

Very good video thank you. Quad working perfectly but too fast flying. Please help me how to set up PID tuning.
Does the vbat votage monitoring work when a buzzer is installed?

any possibilities of it having a gps?
What would i need
Not sure if it has enough uarts

Nice reveiw and tutorial Albert, great job
Thanks!
I just sent you a FR on FB Into quads too :-)
+Pedro147 cool, thanks.
How does this compare to the Beef's Brushed FC in terms of performance (features, gyro chips, processor chip, etc.)?

Great video! I got the one with the built-in flysky rx but i lost the rx antenna mini wire. Do you have any suggestion how to replace it and solder a new one? I don't know what kind of wire i need....thx!
I think it's just copper wire. Not sure what the gauge is. I think the proper length should be 31mm.
Ok...do you know any link where to buy it? Thx!
No problem. I've worked it out using 31mm copper wire from a broken model ;-) Thx for the help!!!
can you use an urt port for plugging in the fpv cam. or soldering do its a clean 5v?
have you had any luck turning this to a brushless FC?
+Ami sh I am looking into this. Waiting for parts
Albert Kim cool let me know how it works
my system can't detect the controller what should I do?

I'm new to quads and am planning on using this flight controller for my first build. I'm on a budget and was wondering if I can use the ppm reciever from my current quadcopter
Yes, I think this FC will allow PPM on one of the UARTs (I think it does autodetect). However I have not tested this. I mainly use SBUS receivers.
is there a way for me to wire up a 3g servo on f3 fc evo v2? I need it for a tilt servo for a micro 100mm tri with 8.5x20 motors
Those outputs are not on the board so i don't see a way to do that.
I wonder if we can remap the motor outputs to be servo outputs via clean/beta flight?
Thank you!

If you want one with a built-in receiver that will work with the FS-i6, get this one instead - goo.gl/oJsDS6
How to connect a PPM receiver?
You connect it to UART3 and select PPM in the configurator. It will autodetect the signal and change it. This is documented in the manual FYI.
Just got two of these cant get either to let me flash it with anything or see the rx connected... sucksssss caus I want to love these things...

Any idea how to add osd to a board like this? Because the f3 brushed fcs with osd have only 1s capability and this could support 2s but doesn't have any osd :/
search for videos on minimOSD. It's "old school" and kinda difficult to setup.

how do you provide 5V from 1s lipo in micro quad?
The board has a 5v regulator on it.
