mike i would vote for you for president if i could. these videos are so fun, entertaining and informative. there's also such a humility and no-nonsense flavor running through them which is lacking in so much modern musician content. so many of these "day in the life" videos are heavily curated, there's always some angle; the guy is always trying to make himself seem busier or more successful than he actually is. this is just an extremely well done video of a dude Doing The Work, and i can't tell you how much i respect it.
Wow,Mike, you are such a busy young man. It amazed me how busy you are. It seemed like you were going to, go, going every minute of the day. Your videos have inspired me to look into playing my drums to some jazz. I have never entertained that thought before, but watching you and listening to some of the songs you play, I think I told be fun. I know absolutely nothing about jazz or jazz groups, but I am quite familiar it’s Pink Martini, so I might find some of their songs on UA-cam and give it a whirl. As far as what part of your video I liked the best, it was your recording you guys did on Wednesday. There were a few songs that I really liked. Oh, and I also like seeing all the great food options you came across. Well,as always, thank you so much for taking your very valuable time to put this video out so we can enjoy you and what you do. Take care, Mike.❤️🙏👏❤️🙏🥰❤️
As always, great video! I just played "Make My Heart Sway" with Jason over the weekend, and that tune threw me off a few times. Super fun but deceptively tricky.
Really interesting and informative video. Really cool music. One thing. You mentioned getting home late to your wife. But when do you actually see her and the dogs. You’re so busy ! 🙋♂️👏👏🇬🇧
I would love to hear more about your spreadsheets and end of month admin processes! I know that’s a weird question but that’s a side of self employment that no one talks about!
i loved your drum trolly, i need one of those, great insight into a busy working drummers life, you must get in a heap of steps each day, great touch on the drums, a great drummer mixes themselves., great editing to, cheers from South Australia.

It wasn't bad, but I think the heaters in the studio are just too loud to operate while recording, and they are very much still getting the place set up in all aspects.
Doooood! You’re the man 🤘🏽I love your content. I’ve been a gigging drummer for a little over 30 years and your videos are relatable and relaxing to watch. I appreciate that even after all of this time I can learn something new from a fellow musician. Thanks!
Great video - I'd love to see a tour of your car sometime. I have currently a mid-size SUV, but I imagine I could fit everything in a prius and save a lot on gas for my next car.
Hey Mike, love the attention to detail in your drum playing and control, second to none. Were all these gigs listed on the Calendar on your own website?
Thanks for watching and listening. Here’s a playlist of tracks I’ve played on, not sure it’s complete, but my band Stuck On Blue has new music currently releasing, and this band in the video, Jason & The Jazzerknots as well. open.spotify.com/playlist/4O3j0wZZyJoCjyi8h2je1f?si=sUyjxKDQQl-5bZRVfkYOjQ&pi=u-ZUR5moLvRlqh
Hello Mike! Great video, again. Thank you so mutch for sharing your work and experience. I was wondering about your cymbal setup. What model and size is that ride you use all the time. You use it in the clips from the studio in this video. It looks unlathed and has a crispy and dry sound that I love. Alle the best, keep on making Great content. Greetings from Norway 🥁

Thanks for watching, don't write me in for president. I got enough on my plate.
“It looks pretty dirty still” 😂
It’s probably still dirty today.
Watched to the end. I like the studio time and gigs.
Thanks! I enjoy it as well
I enjoyed this entire video from start to finish, and the drum solos were definitely my favourite part 🥁
Appreciate it!

Thanks.
Fantastic video Mike. Would love to see 51 more of them this year!
At least a few more!
The amount of effort put into these vlogs is astounding! Great video.
Thanks Steve! That’s why I can only afford to do a few a year.
My fav bits were listening to your beautiful playing. Band was great too.
Thanks, I have a number of the songs up on the channel with full tracking videos as well.
Love watching you all in the studio. Great playing from all of you
Thanks so much!
These videos gave me a completely different perspective on what it means to be a “working” or “full time” musician. Dope.
Happy to hear that!
Love the videos. As weekend warrior it's nice to see how someone does it full time.
Glad to hear it!
You bring out these tasty fills when you least expect it, love it.
Thanks
Nice! After Saturday’s upload I was hoping for a vlog of the tracking sessions. Always look forward to your Monday uploads.
Happy to hear it!
Really dig this video, you're a busy dude! Also, Jason's space rules...you're lucky to have something like this so close to home.
We sure are!
Whatc a nice and clean Solo on 14:30 👍
Thanks

I make my time where I can!
Great vlog, maybe my favorite format of yours!
Awesome, thank you!
I would love to hear more about your spreadsheets and end of month admin processes! I know that’s a weird question but that’s a side of self employment that no one talks about!
Oh absolutely. It’s something I’ve considered doing a video on, just talking about my strategy for keeping my books and record keeping.

Appreciate it
Really Mike, your Vlogs always warm up my heart and remind me at my own experiences and make me smile :-))
Glad you like them!
No heat in the studio, I’m guessing? Brrrrr… ❄️❄️❄️
It wasn't bad, but I think the heaters in the studio are just too loud to operate while recording, and they are very much still getting the place set up in all aspects.
Thanks. I like these videos. You are very organised and that allows you to do so much!
Thanks for watching!

Great video - I'd love to see a tour of your car sometime. I have currently a mid-size SUV, but I imagine I could fit everything in a prius and save a lot on gas for my next car.
Ha, that’s not a terrible idea and I’ve thought about a video explaining why and how I choose gear for situations and keeping everything compact.
Hey Mike, love the attention to detail in your drum playing and control, second to none. Were all these gigs listed on the Calendar on your own website?
They should be.
Love these vids! Hoping for more!

Really insightful stuff, curious what the Bosphorus ride is on the studio recordings?
22” master vintage ride
i love these videos :) always entertaining! what is that hardware bag you are using in this video?
It’s a DW bag that comes with their 6000 ultralight hardware set.

Love what you do dude, keep it up!🤘🥁 Also, whats that fx cymbal it sounds awesome?
Here it is: amzn.to/3wbqSFX
Thank you!!!
Hello.i have 2 questions.1) what brand the harware bag you have. 2) what application you have for print you drum sheets? Thank you.best wishes .
It’s a DW hardware bag, and as far as sheet music, I use transcribe music in a program called Finale.
Correct me if I’m wrong, but jazz is America’s oldest form of music, right?
I wouldn’t say oldest, but the art form is uniquely American.
Why you keep some drumset in you studio.you don't have to back in Fort all the time.
It’s not my studio, just a studio I was recording this album at.
