so inspiring seeing a local professional drummer. so musical with great abilities both technically and musically yet mature enough to serve all given situations. from the way you handle your business, equipment, relationships and your home, you've truly carved out a great life for yourself. thank you for sharing your world. I'd consider your life a great success! hats off to you sir.
I just came across your Vlogs. As a musician myself i can't thank you enough at the fascinating details of how this life Really is. You are a great filmmaker!
I really like this vids from a colleague working drummer, especially since i visited the states (Colorado and south California) last summer. Brings my memories back. You have a very clear and calm way of filming with a nice voiceover. The time lapse helps a lot to see a bigger period of time in a few minutes. Appreciate !
nice work man...great gear for the jazz recording..great video..i like your jazz kit a lot..and also your cymbals..great home and home studio you have, thanks for the video!!
I'll be releasing full takes of singles and such as they come out, but here's the link to check out what's up with all of it: www.sungooserecords.com/music/theshakedown
This is your best video, Mike! Jason and I were in college together and we worked at Schmitt music together as well. He’s such a great player! I love your professionalism with everything you do.
Damn you have an awesome life. Another fantastic video! The thoroughness of each step of you're gigging, recording and just day to day music projects is always a joy to watch!
Thanks man, I probably make myself look bette in the videos than I am in real life, but it's fun to share some of these moments, and archive them for myself.
this was amazing!! i think its so cool that this is your career it makes me happy for you! this has inspired me to talk some of my friends into doing a recording session like this over summer break. Ive been learning production tequniques and have really been developing my skills in micing and recording. i want to be a proffesional musician!
That's a great plan to get started! I still do plenty of sessions with a more DIY approach because it's way more fiscally realistic to do. Whatever you do, do something.
Appreciate it, this was probably my largest undertaking in terms of footage and editing, but a fun one to do. Hoping to do a few of this style of VLOG throughout the year
Love this kinda content thanks man, would also dig to see some of the technical aspects like where they put the mics and what gear they use, but maybe more in the future when there is more time. You guys nailed this one tho, congrats!!
Nice video. Great drumming. Big Distances. Difficult to have enough money/income after travel expenses. Perhaps rates for gigs are bigger in Canada and petrol/benzin is less expensive as in the Netherlands.
I don’t mind the mix, but honestly after playing enough albums, I don’t tend to listen to things I played on much or at least focusing on my own part too much.
If you want to check out the full album, you can follow this link here: www.sungooserecords.com/music/theshakedown

Busy, busy, busy!!! Thank you for taking me inside your world as a professional drummer. I found it quite interesting and so very well done.
Appreciate you saying that!
That was much fun to watch. A nice glimpse into the life of a pro drummer. Really takes me back. Thanks.
You should check out my follow up video on tour with the same group promoting the album.

This is a whole other level of vloging! It feels like a 3 minute video, and I hope to see more videos like this soon!

Seems like a great way to spend a week.
It was extremely fulfilling.
Man that was some great playing! Loved the video

Thanks
Nice. Sad that the volume of your drums is a bit low in the overall balance.
I don’t mind the mix, but honestly after playing enough albums, I don’t tend to listen to things I played on much or at least focusing on my own part too much.
No Hardcase drum boxes ? Our drummer owns the company Hardcase
That's awesome for your drummer!
What cymbals are these?
Various Bosphorus Cymbals
Yeah i figured it out after i wrote my comment. They sound amazing
