You always can mod your stuff - despite you would need to also design a similar case in the correct proportions to fit the new screen (which, if done, should consider a better way of cooling for the chipset, so it dissipate better the heat intended to fry user's trigger fingers with time while they try to play PSP, N64 and DC).

Great review as always. Regarding EDC, the 35XX H has always been my go to, which i swap with a Retroid Pocket 3+ from time to time. The 35XX H is smaller than my phone, so it easily fits in my pocket even with my phone, but most of the time goes in my EDC sling pouch. Im convinced the 35XX H and SP are the maximum pocket EDC devices. Anything bigger goes into a bag... Even the 40XX H. It's too big to fit in the pocket with another item.
Funny. I always thought that the anbernic boxes looked pretty nice. Something about the the minimalist shiny silver outline on a white background just looks more premium to me. Then again the devices I purchased from them years ago have the same design so it's probably time for them to update their packing.
I’m surprised at how many people I’m seeing say they like the white model the best. I’m not sure why but the white with grey buttons gives me a cheap vibe. If it was all white I’d think it looked great. The red and violet ones look OK but i think the black with the RGB lights is just gorgeous. But i am glad other people are liking the other colors. I wouldn’t want everyone to have the exact same one i did. After all, variety is the spice of life and he who controls the spice controls the universe.

I want to get a retro handheld even tho I own a PSP, and I was planning on the MM+, but now that this is released, i just cant decide. I would love to hear from you, thankss
The brick is probably technically better because it can do more stuff. However, the MM+ has a bigger screen, and different ergonomics that some people would prefer, and the MM+ feels like a retro toy while the Brick feels like a modern toy. Both are great for their own reasons, I can't say if one is better than another for you. For me though... dang that's a hard choice. I'd probably go for the brick because I like the smaller size for the pocket and the high pixel density screen. But I'd miss Onion OS, and that DMG colour scheme. Don't make me choose!

@@TechDweeb Haha indeed! I am one of those weirdo who only use pixel-perfect fullscreen. I currently use: - a GKD Pixel for pixel-perfect NES, Genesis and PS1 - a Powkiddy (👊😼👊) V10 for pixel-perfect GBA - currently an RGB20 Pro for pixel-perfect Master System, DS and ScummVM (Scumm emulation at 1024x768 is amazing and not talked about enough :D). I'd love to replace it with a brick, but Scumm without an analog stick for the mouse is probably awful. I still haven't found a perfect screen for pixel-perfect SNES handheld. Maybe one day you should make a video about which handheld are pixel-perfect screens for each retro console :D
Another Miyoo Variant. Much wow. -_- Best thing about the Brick is you reviewing it. You could review old socks and i would be looking forward. You're cool
This isn't based on or made by Miyoo. The design is more inspired by the Analogue Pocket and was made by Trimui with a much stronger emphasis on overall solid build quality for the price
@Golden_Deus idk about you, but i have heard "up to and including psp" a little bit too often. These really do look like variants of each other. Its fine. But i cant get excited for a product thats just 90% similar to a vertical that came out 2 years ago. Feed me something new.
I'm not sure, I didn't get the stock card, but the upgraded card does have Baltro on it too. I didn't want to point that out because I don't support including modern indie games.
I want a 4inch Miyoo Mini XL... or would that be a Miyoo Midi??? Just saying... The MM+ is still the better choice for me. Same size, larger screen and Onion obviously. Looks nice though...
Hello, TechDweeb - long time listener, first time caller - if you please, what is the transparent grey(?) handheld with super famicon coloured buttons at 13:42? Looks like a PowKiddy V10 predecessor?
I love the style, but I already have a miyoo mini and rg353v. This doesn't do anything better than those two, except look better. I really don't need another tiny device, what I want is something like this in a full sized form factor. The only thing close are the pocket DMG for a million dollars, or the 406v, but that looks goofy
I usually don't like any vertical handhelds because of the triggers, so between this and the the powkiddy rgb20 pro, which one is the most comfortable to hold?
great review! PD: What handheld style is your favorite? (Gameboy classic, psp, SP, switch) I really can't understand why its not GBA classic style handhelds in the market yet
My* experience wasn't as magical as everyone on UA-cam and Reddit is saying, and I think that was because I didn't get a model with an included SD card (and I'm not alone on that). Out the box, the lightbar didn't work, setting one of the front function keys to D-Pad/Stick Toggle would turn off all the lights, and none of the TrimUI Menu's Save/Load functions would work. The shoulder buttons were kind of up in the air, too. My unit had buttons that were spongey and not responsive for L1/R1, and L2/R2 were fine. Eventually, R1 kinda sorted itself out and is fine now, but L1 required cutting/filing some of the clear plastic, uhhhhh, switch sleeve? My guess is the plastic wasn't properly molded or the metal backplate wasn't properly cut. Anyways, it worked, but it was still a frustrating feeling to get it out the box and find spongey buttons on a device that the whole internet is heralding as the next Console Christ. Also, MinUI is the best CFW right now for it, imo. Even after a fresh "install" of the TrimUI StockOS with proper folder structures on a fresh SD card, the Save/Load features don't work. You have to go into RetroArch and set macros/manually save and load, and that adds more steps to a process that shouldn't be available if it doesn't work. In my opinion, no one is going to use this device to play Dreamcast or PSP games outside of people on the internet doing it for benchmarks and "because they can", so MinUI is perfect. The in-menu Save/Load feature actually works, and the only real losses are the aforementioned systems, Portmaster, and the LEDs, which you would want off for battery life anyway. Anyway that's my personal review, take it for what you will. Still a good device, but like all these mini handhelds, it took installing a CFW and some tinkering. I'm sure other folks will get one with no QA issues and an included SD card that has all the games they could want. I hope they do, because retro handhelds are saving gaming for everyone who is tired of AAA nonsense.
Thanks for sharing. Good to have a reminder that not everyone gets the same experience. Also tech reviewers (I'm guilty of this) tend to gloss over problems that they know how to fix, because they just fix them as they arise, but forget that not everyone knows how to do that stuff.
What is the best device with joysticks that can run the same or more for the same price range or cheaper? I keep thinking I know what I want to get but then I realize I want the ability to run joystick level games, just in case. 😅👍
@TechDweeb I do like the idea of owning one of the zazzle's. I kinda looked past this one because it only has 1 stick, but I guess it probably can't really play many games that would've used 2 sticks now that I think about it. 😅👍
Finding an unwatched T.Dweeb video on your homepage is like discovering the bonus french fry at the bottom of the burger bag. So salty, so deliciously greasy, so ...
Probably the best looking vertical handheld at least imho. I do wish it had better specs but everything else looks amazing. I guess for better performance the anbernic is needed.
If anyone wants fighting games that avoids using the triggers too much because they only use four buttons then you should try Samurai Shodown series, Tekken series, King of Fighters or any other games that share that series, Asuka 120%, Soul Calibur, and some others. They're easy to use with the four buttons and you don't have to use the triggers as much.
Edit: I forgot the most important part. We don't have basements here. Due to flooding concerns. For what it's worth, we also have to deal with a lot of flooding in tropical areas. We never get a Ori borealisis. The heat gets so bad that being outside for more than 15 minutes is extremely brutal to say the least

2:04 I know you're gonna stick the sticker like that. But I still laughed 😂
any suggestions for pocketable but can also play Ps2, Gamecube fairly well?
Love this channel, so funny!
It's beautiful. I believe I want one.
Ordered mine. I’d been wanting a device to be my “edc” device, or as I say my “emotional support console”, but none of them seemed quite right. This looks like it could fit the bill
This is an amazing EDC doodad for sure.
This is defo nice looking mini analogue ❤
I know nobody cares, but the screen is perfect 4x for the Master System resolution 😃
Oh neat! Also Nintendo DS!
@@TechDweeb Haha indeed! I am one of those weirdo who only use pixel-perfect fullscreen. I currently use:
- a GKD Pixel for pixel-perfect NES, Genesis and PS1
- a Powkiddy (👊😼👊) V10 for pixel-perfect GBA
- currently an RGB20 Pro for pixel-perfect Master System, DS and ScummVM (Scumm emulation at 1024x768 is amazing and not talked about enough :D).
Much wow. -_-
Best thing about the Brick is you reviewing it.
@@pandaoflove7410 worst part is up to psp but no control stick so it limits games and systems.
First the Cube, then the Brick, inb4 the Can or the noodle ;)
Is it true that they put Portmaster version of Balatro on the stock SD card?
That's the LDK. My first 'real' retro handheld. Pretty dated by today's standards but I always loved that form factor.
You have a very creative mind ❤ ...
Didn't know you were Canadian like me 😎
I might go in for the Purple model good price for just kicking around with Retro Games.
Looks like the purple version is a pre-sale from LITNXT and they start shipping on Dec 15th
I love the style, but I already have a miyoo mini and rg353v. This doesn't do anything better than those two, except look better. I really don't need another tiny device, what I want is something like this in a full sized form factor. The only thing close are the pocket DMG for a million dollars, or the 406v, but that looks goofy
I want to buy but will it not come due to the Canada post strike???
I chuckled at the Mr. Sujano shoutout in the chapter title
Glad someone noticed that :P
If you ask me, you should say Powkiddy more often in each video. XD
I usually don't like any vertical handhelds because of the triggers, so between this and the the powkiddy rgb20 pro, which one is the most comfortable to hold?
great review!
PD: What handheld style is your favorite? (Gameboy classic, psp, SP, switch)
I really can't understand why its not GBA classic style handhelds in the market yet
That's every vertical handheld out there
thank you TechDweeb
looks like now I'll have to buy this
Sorry about that 😬
Have you ever tried the powkiddy a30 as a og advance handheld?
2nd craziest possibility: build a house out of Trimui bricks
This needs to be done. We can hold them together with Litnxt stickers!
@TechDweeb 🤣🤣🤣
Genuinely curious how many of us spend more time watching reviews and buying these than actually playing games on them.
Almost as many as there are of us who spend ages setting them up instead of gaming.
I’ve been living the best of both worlds lately by swapping my 256 Litnxt Card between Miyoo mini and Miyoo Mini + depending on where I’m going.
wait, DOS Heroes of Might and Magic 2 on there?! Did that com with the card from LITNXT?
Please review the NES Classic
Oh you live in Northern Ontario, cool I have relatives there, I'm from the Nation's Capital!
This brick console is pretty good
What is the best device with joysticks that can run the same or more for the same price range or cheaper?
I keep thinking I know what I want to get but then I realize I want the ability to run joystick level games, just in case.
😅👍
Rg40xxv
The RG40XX-V would be a good fit for you I think. ua-cam.com/video/j32bq2sodbQ/v-deo.html
@TechDweeb I do like the idea of owning one of the zazzle's.
I kinda looked past this one because it only has 1 stick, but I guess it probably can't really play many games that would've used 2 sticks now that I think about it.
😅👍
How is the latency over Bluetooth from an analogue controller, and is it good enough for N64 and Dreamcast?
Finding an unwatched T.Dweeb video on your homepage is like discovering the bonus french fry at the bottom of the burger bag. So salty, so deliciously greasy, so ...
Putting the sticker on the screen made me spit out my coffee. Stop this madman!
Maybe we go to this when the mm+ inevitably breaks?
Probably the best looking vertical handheld at least imho. I do wish it had better specs but everything else looks amazing. I guess for better performance the anbernic is needed.
Hi Tech Dweeb, should I get other doodads that are ribbed?
My Odin 2 Mini arrived last week. Why am I already looking at another thing?
Addiction
waiting for it in red and purple , sometime this week
6:45 I wonder if we'll ever get to the point where one of these handhelds use the screen as a speaker. Some TVs do this. Just food for thought
I would love that
If anyone wants fighting games that avoids using the triggers too much because they only use four buttons then you should try Samurai Shodown series, Tekken series, King of Fighters or any other games that share that series, Asuka 120%, Soul Calibur, and some others. They're easy to use with the four buttons and you don't have to use the triggers as much.
If the brick gets through the window unobserved, does it go down to the basement and become a CUBE?
The pieces are all falling into place...
I have the opposite problem. It's cold as heck, no floods, aurora borealis out the wazoo, and basements aplenty.
Great video! Good information all around. I knew you were from Canada, but Northern Ontario? We might be neighbours and not even know it. Small world!
14:53 - Drop it like it's hot (from playing Dreamcast).
Do you know if the bluetooth audio supports Airpods Pro gen 2? I've been waiting for a vertical SBC where this works, main reason I didn't pull the trigger on a RG35XX+.
