BMW Steering Angle Sensor Cleaning - A85D and 5EBA error codes

When the traction control light and brake warning lights show up when turning the steering wheel, chances are the steering angle sensor needs cleaning.

I did mine today and you need to make sure the No.6 on the disc is aligned with the arrow on the cover. I made the mistake of turning the optical wheel randomly and I got ABS, brake and all sorts of errors relating to the sensor. Once corrected I was able to erase all fault codes.

Let me first be grate and thankful that you made this great DIY. But Ddarn, i got a headache of watching it. The camera was all over the place. I think, it would be more pleasent to hold the camera steady and hightlight with your finger. But still thanks for getting me the solution for my problem

clockspring could be broken inside.

@@highmilesgarage9131 my car 2008 lci model does not spring. There is a plastic circle. I'm not sure if it could be on my horn. I'll check the horn relay tomorrow. insurance is good
