  • www.homebuildingandrepairs.co... Visit our website today to learn more about garage building, roof framing and home repairs. I think these roofs are the easiest to build for beginner carpenters and do it yourself minded people. A shed, gable and butterfly type design uses the same rafter pattern layout for all the rafters, except for those on the outside that might require fascia board support look outs or modified rafters.

Butterfly roof is just asking for trouble.

Butterfly roof!!! Yikes! Up North here in Canada would not work....but interesting to see where someone might benefit from this sort of roof. Again, very interesting presentation....thank you 🙏again from Atlantic Canada....eh! ☺🇨🇦

Yes, not in the snow, with out structural roof framing supports.

Butterfly roofline reminds me of a deLorean car with doors open. Seems problematic when trying to shed rainwater or support the weight of snow. Less protective of house walls too without overhang or gutters.
Isn't the theory to keep simple, repetitive roof lines? Lines which are mirrored on the opposite side of the roof translate into the same board cut, right? No variation in angles or multiple rooflines. Am I wrong to include a hip roof in this pool?
    Feel free to critique.

This roof will require a drainage cricket in the center to shed water off of the roof. A hip roof will require more than one rafter pattern, so not in this video group.

Flat roofs and Butterfly roofs should have been banned , because you know they will leak.
