    to make (hurry up) four thieves oil: rosemary, thyme, lavender and sage, chopped up in a pan (sprinkle of ground cloves). cover with almond oil, simmer with the cover on gently 3-4 hours. remove from heat. strain to a bottle through muslin. alternatively use meadowsweet juniper bogmyrtle, mugwort 🌱

      @@shakaama Usually I allow an oil to infuse over a number of weeks, 2 - 4 but in this case, I heated it very gently on the stove for 4 hours. They are the methods for oil infusion.

      @@DanusIrishHerbGarden ah ok. I see. my hearing has gone out, and it seems, it's from the virus. so it was suggested i look into the 4 thieves. but even the "tea" takes a month.
      also someone else made the oil, by doing a 4 oil, combo, of essential oils. a little confusing,
      but it seems your method is much faster, right? this infusion.(yes, i know you're not a doctor) so don't be afraid to give me your opinion.

    • @DanusIrishHerbGarden
      @DanusIrishHerbGarden  4 роки тому +19

      @@shakaama An essential oil blend would be the little bottles you get in the health shop. You could buy the four individual oils and blend them - very expensive way to do this for a very small amount. Essential oil is pressed from the plant. An infused oil is different - you are infusing the plants themselves in an olive oil or sunflower or sweet almond oil. This can take a few weeks or you can very gently warm the oil with the herbs in on the stove. The quickest way to get the herbal blend into you would be to make a tea or infusion by hot water. This only takes a few minutes - get your dried herbs, chop finely and put in a pot. Pour over boiling water and cover. Let this infuse for maybe 20 mins and hey presto!. You drink this tea (or water infusion) and take 3 cups per day for immune health.

    I had to watch this twice because I wanted to get all this information. I didn't want to miss anything. I have bought 4thieves essential oil but didn't know what in the world it was except tgat it sounded like something our ancestors used. I know it sounds nuts but what can I say. Thank you so very much for this video. God blessings on you and family.

    Loved your remark on experts 😉
    I'm making fire cider and wondered if I can just combine these recipes? Add these 4 herbs to it I mean...

      You can do what you like as you are your own expert. The herbs mentioned would enhance the Fire Cider xx

      A while back, I also, made fire cider a multi-herbal one. It is very potent & dosage is a teaspoon in a glass of warm water with honey although some of my family will take it straight either sipping it or downing a spoon full at a time which I don’t recommend. It has become our go to at the first sign of anything and nipped many a cold or sore throat in the bud. My brother dubbed it Jungle Juice

    I've been using Four Thieves oil this whole past year. If it worked for them, good enough for me.

    Hello from the USA. Just found your channel. Love learning about herbs. They are great plant allies and work amazingly well with no bad effects if used with care. I didn't catch the type of oil you used. What type was it?

    Please check before burning/diffusing anything how it will affect any animals in the house! Some things that are fine for us are detrimental to them! Otherwise, lovely video!

    Loved this one,I bet your home was just filled with scent? Will be trying this one out if possible? Unfortunately I don’t have these plants growing at present. My question is could I use organic store bought plants or the fresh cut herbs you can purchase for cooking ? In their place? Thankyou blessings from Ontario Canada 🐝

      Hi Beverley, yes of course you could. You can use dry or fresh herbs but I would recommend either all dry or all fresh, not a mixture of the two.

    Would adding holy basil to the 4 thieves be ok? Love the smell, and has so many benefits.
