Thank you for watching. Let me know if you make anything with Thyme.
I cannot do without thyme. It smells so wonderful!
I agree - and the smell is so comforting.
@@DanusIrishHerbGarden I find it very calming.
Time for Thyme 🍃Thank You Terri 💐
Hi Sally. Hope you are well.
I love making herbal tinctures. I make lemon balm tincture mostly, but oregano, chamomile, nettle and lavender are also ones I make. Now thyme will be on the medicine shelf this year. Thanks Terri! 💚
It is so satisfying Rose, seeing those tinctures lined up on a shelf or jars of tea lined up in the kitchen.
I love Lemon Balm tea
Perfect timing, I harvested some thyme this morning for drying and now I have so many options. Thanks and blessings.
Blessings to you too Jamie. It's great when synchronicities occur.
Time to collect my thyme😌Terri I must say I chuckled about your husband not liking the thyme stems in his food- for years I used to place whole sprigs in my tomato sauce and everyone patiently picked them out not saying anything but on a visit to a relative my son commented that their sauce was different from his moms - no sticks and they kindly told him they do not put sticks in their sauce. 😊
I have made thyme honey and it is delicious will try a tincture this year - thank you for sharing your knowledge Terri .💗
Ha ha! Lol is very particular - he says he is discerning. I am much more rough and ready and little bits of chopped Thyme sticks don't bother me!
This is so helpful! My elderly father has asthma, Weggener's Disease, and now Parkinson's. Anything I can do to help him keep healthy is so appreciated! I'll be making him some thyme honey and an oxymel this afternoon. And I personally have used your recipe for that blackberry oxymel, and I love it. Thank you so much for your giving to us.
Delighted you enjoyed the oxymel - hope your father gets some relief too. xx
Grounding might help
I have rehashed a typical lemon curd recipe, I use local honey instead of sugar and right at the last moment when the curd is still simmering but off the heat, I put a LOAD of thyme in. I just eat it by the teaspoon when I feel the need. Thyme; gives you more time, ie. longevity.
Oh Moira that sounds great. I have to go and make some Lemon Curd now, just to add the Thyme!
@@DanusIrishHerbGarden Bless you! I do love it and often give it away as a gift. I want to make thyme vinegar now too!🤣. I often make herb infused oils as well. Mother Nature, absolutely love her🥰.
Dear Moira, I'd like to add that your recipe sounds delicious !
This lady is so endearing to me... She has many many videos to watch & learn from... and I think she's very pretty too...
Thank you! Glad you are finding the videos useful xx
I will hunt for Wild thyme or mother of thyme, right now, I just have German thyme. Oh, to look forward to Spring planting. And, about your doggie, Border Collie puppy or mix? So very handsome. Just popped back in today because thyme is one of my favorite herbs to season my chicken bone broth. Unfortunately, I am allergic to all hoofed mammal meat because of chronic Lyme disease so it is my go to, along with turkey, for bone broth. I never cease to be amazed at your herbal fund of knowledge. I have learned so much from you. Have a great week❣️
Thyme is perfect for chicken bone broth. Hope you feel better soon. He's not a puppy anymore, he is a long haired Jack Russell terrier but has the markings of a Border Collie. He is like a little miniature!
i live in RI, USA, looking for wild time, but might be to late….
wild thyme not time!
Have you ever done mushroom broth? Thyme and mushrooms is delicious.
@@RavenStealstheNight I never have made mushroom broth with thyme. Sounds delicious and nutritious. Where did you find your recipe? I would love to try it. Thanks for the suggestion. Having a mammal meat allergy, but it is a bummer because I am allergic to shell fish too and seaweed, anything with iodine. So, I tell everybody, if it does not fly, swim or hop I cannot eat it. I am a creative cook. I have Celiac Disease so no gluten, highly reactive. My husband says that the list of what I can eat is shorter than the list of what I cannot eat. Determined herbalist, you can make food amazing if you know about herbs.
I put thyme in my eggs every morning. I use fresh when I can and when snow covers the plants, I use the thyme I've picked and dried over summer. I also add it to my mashed potatoes with garlic. Sometimes I add oregano with it. Thanks. I have loved thyme for a long time, and I keep adding more plants to the garden each year because I eat it more as time passes.
I don't like to stalk channels and comment everywhere but I just feel happy and content watching your videos.
That's such a lovely compliment, thanks so much x
I feel so happy and excited watching your videos. Love learning from you 🎉You also have such a lovely energy and it comes through and uplifts us all. Your much appreciated ❤ Thank you for all you do and share ❤
I love this life style I miss being in my own village harvesting All summer long fruits and vegetables it is really a healing process ❤️
It really is - you feel better just doing things outside even before you eat or make medicine. xx
Temp drop here too. Turned on the heater for the first time.
Cup of Thyme tea will warm you up xxx
Thyme has always been one of my favorites ❤️ Love it in stew ❤️
Thank you Terri ❤️
Me too!
Thank you for sharing Terri. Your information and love of the herbs and nature always inspire. I mostly use thyme for a steam or inhalation when our sinuses are inflamed but the oxymel sounds delicious and I am excited to add that to our winter apothecary.
Thanks Trinalea, yes steam inhalation and burning to cleanse the air. Too much to mention in one vid xx
Thank Y'all for sharing. I well have to find some time for thyme . Have a fantastic day
Hi Terri - I just love everything you share with us. I learn so much from you. Wish you lived closer to me. I’m sure it would be fun just hanging out with you. Love your dogs too. They are adorable. Have a great week. Hugs.
Thank you Pam. Best wishes to you!
I learned so much about thyme and other uses that I haven't heard about. Thank you very much for sharing.
You are welcome Liddia. Thanks for watching.x
I love your kitchen! So cozy and like many wonderful meals and herbal concoctions have been made there. Thank you for sharing!
Thanks Debbie. Everyday just about!😂
My very FAVORITE! 💗💓💗💓 as you may have guessed! 😏 perfect timing! I have just harvested my lot….thank you sweetie….have a great week!
Thyme tea helps your breathing while you’re drinking it. I like garbling herbs because it forces you to be quiet and still You focus on the plant’s healing powers as you prepare it.
I agree - those little time consuming tasks that make us slow down and fall into meditation.
Mmm thyme honey sounds fantastic...May have to make some :) Ive always been fond of the tiny, less showy, seemingly secretive plants: thyme, eyebright, speedwell...Thank you for another video :)
Dave

It amazes how beautiful they are when you take the trouble to bend down and really see them.
I like making thyme tea and drink every couple of days. I love your channel, so glad I found it.
Welcome Christine. I think Thyme tea is delicious too. x
I've watched both this video and your blackberry oxymel video and am interested in a blackberry-thyme oxymel. Any tips? I'm so grateful to have found your channel recently... binge-watching :) With gratitude, Audrey
You are so inspiring Danu. Presenting us with the ingredients for self preservation and determination. Love you so much ❤️ thank you sister x
Thankyou Terri most interesting as always. Blessings to you and yours Ontario Canada 🐝
Thanks Beverley, hope all is well in Ontario
Thank you! I just made some Thyme honey! So excited to have this for the winter!
Me too! Feeling all prepared but might go on and infuse some oil. So much to work with!
Listening to you is just as medicinal as the herbs you promote for healing. Thank you...
You're welcome. Glad you enjoyed it. Xx
Thank you Terri!🙂
Thyme is one of my favorite herbs. I cook with it quite often because the flavor isn't as strong as the others. That's also why I put it in my cat's food (she's an old lady like me) when I think she's not feeling well. I may do that for my chickens too. Thyme and mint tea is interesting too.
Blessings always! 💜
Great idea for the chicks! Blessings to you too.
Another great informative video! Thank you.
Thank you Dili, so glad you enjoyed it.
I would love to spend the weekend with you at your place in your garden. I would love to sit and listen to all of the wonderful stories that you have and pick up as much knowledge as I could.
That would be nice, thank you! Are you in Ireland? You could consider the Wise Woman Training. xx
@@DanusIrishHerbGarden Sadly I am in California but thank you so much for the gift that you give me by posting UA-cam videos. I feel at peace when I listen and see you!
Thank you so much for all of your videos - it is so generous of you to share your knowledge, and they are all just lovely and inspiring. I love them all, and especially the folklore that you share. We just harvested the last honey of the season from our bees here in Nova Scotia, and I'm going to pop outside right now to pick some thyme to infuse a jar! Thank you again, and take care!
Thank you! I enjoy sharing and hopefully empowering other people. We are, ourselves, all that we need. Blessings to you!
I put thyme in a soup of roasted tomato, garlic, carrots, onions and beans yesterday and almost feel its goodness the moment I ate it. I never knew just how wonderful thyme is and I have a little bit growing by my front door. Will definitely try it in honey and vinegar. Love your videos, inspiring and informative, thank you x
That soup sounds yummy !
i love thyme in the kitchen for cooking and in teas, and especially for smoking, i just love the scent of thyme 💚💚💚
Hello from Louisiana, really enjoy your videos and seeing the beautiful places around you, i also live in a small patch of heaven again thank you for the videos and the herb garden
Hello Terri, I have just found your interesting videos! Whilst on holiday in Crete a few years ago I became a huge fan of the Thyme tea they had there! I was told that the Thyme was collected along with other herbs from the mountains. Thyme is one of my favourite herbs for cooking, I didn’t realise it had so many other uses. Thank you ! ❤️from Cornwall.
Excellent video, Terri! 💓 Thank you very much! ☕️🌿🍁🍂
Thank you Ellemski. Stay well xx
Thyme is one of my favorites to make into an infused honey when blooming. I just opened her up from the fridge. It makes a whipped honey after being in the fridge. Love that.
Thanks for the 'thymely' reminder. I've made my rose hip syrup and now on with this other wonderful aid. I think the thyme really benefits from a good trim too. As ever, a practical and lovely video. Thank you.
Ha ha! I think you are right re the trimming, my Thyme is going better than ever.
Thank you Terry 🌿
Hey Wendy - you are very welcome. x
enjoy and learn so much from you! thank you so much, stay well till next time❤️
Thanks so much Sharon, you too xx
wild thyme, not wild time😩
Kia ora and greetings from New Zealand. Toni here and I have just recently found your wonderful 'treasure trove' of a channel. Thank you for sharing your knowledge and love of herbs. It's spring time here in New Zealand, so we're thinking more about the coming growing season. My herbs that have 'slumbered' over the winter are just beginning to pop their heads above ground to say 'hello' again 😃 I have bee hives in the garden, so I'm looking forward to putting so many more herbs in honey. Blessings
Happy springtime Life, Love and Lettuce. Thanks for watching.
Hello Terri ,thank you for the very interesting video, after watching I went to pick some thyme from my garden ,I have just made the thyme and honey recipe .. lots of inspirational ideas . Thank you . 💚🌹
You're welcome Linda! Enjoy all the tasty treats!
I love this time of year and as always I'm loving your video's Terri...many thanks to u and your wonderful cameraman 🙏
Thank you Pat. x
I made a raspberry thyme white balsamic vinager. Mix it with olive oil for salad dressing or as an oxymel. Now I will go infuse olive oil with dried thyme. Thank you Terry for all your invalueable wisdom. I'm in Texas or else I would be taking your workshops and please let Lol know his music is beautiful. Does he play mandalin?
Thank you Terry for the great advice on Thyme.
You're welcome!
Terri, thank you for yet another wonderful video. Your videos are always so calming for me, but also extremely informative, and your connection with nature makes your channel one of my favorite channels on youtube. I've been feeling really called to my little thyme plant, and your infusions have inspired me to make some thyme vinegar to cook my poached eggs with (among other things). 🌿
That sounds delicious. I'm going to try that too. xx

You are welcome Shella.x
Love this !!
I love cooking with Thyme. Thank you for sharing its medicinal use.
Hope you can use some of the suggestions.x
Thanks Terri. Learned something new today...I am not a fan of the flavour of thyme/tarragon. Now, I will use the thyme for winter. Bless.💚
I'm sorry you don't like Thyme. Each to their own, but prepare a tincture to get you through the winter, xx
@@DanusIrishHerbGarden Will do!!!💚
So many ideas and suggestions.. Our herbal apothecary thanks you for the new recipes. ' thyme ' to get moving.
Desert love to everyone and Abundant Autumn Harvests 💜🍄🐾🍄💜

Thank you, beautiful! Your knowledge is phenomenal and appreciated!
Glad it was helpful!
Thyme honey that sounds lovely, I must pick some thyme and try even if it’s Spring, it’s still jolly cool at the moment.
Thank you Terri for sharing your knowledge with us.
Thanks for watching Tassie. If you make your Thyme honey now it will be really potent come winter. x
🌿🌿🌿🌿🌿🌿🌿🌿🌿🌿So lemon thyme isn't as medicinal then? Takes so good.
Your thyme is stronger for sure.
Wonderful as usual❤
Therese from California.
We FINALLY gon a heavy rain.....after months and months and months of sun🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹
It's raining here too - but that is not a surprise😂 Lemon Thyme is great in cooking and will definitely be an added health benefit
Sending a greeting from Canada. I love your videos. I learn so much from you Terri and I really appreciate the time you take to make videos to educate us and at the same time give us a glimpse of your area of Ireland. Thank you Terri and Lol for the lovely music and photography.
Catherine, thank you very much for kind words. Thanks for letting us know you are enjoying them x
Now I am wishing I had of planted a lot more thyme to make the thyme honey. I dried some and I put part of my plant in a pot of clean potting soil and brought it in to a south sunny winter. Hopefully it continues to grow. Our temperatures are too cold to overwinter thyme outside. Thank you for sharing your knowledge with us. Love spending Thyme with you. hugs.
Thank you for your time spent watching. Hugs to you too🙋
Love Thyme. Never heard of an oxymel. Fixing to watch your video on that. Thank you.
Love this one…I have so much thyme in the garden…can’t wait to get preserving💕
Enjoy the process!
I have been very healthy throughout my life (65 yrs) but Covid got hold of me in July 2022. I had avoided it so long and thankfully I got through it with ease. Just a little tired fora few days. However, a month later I began to cough. Then other issues began to show up. Elevated blood pressure and swelling in my feet. My heart is fine but the symptoms continue. I am slowly seeing these symptoms start to diminish but after seeing your video I will be using thyme to help get myself fully back to normal.
Always keep it on hand for winter sniffles
Delighted to see a “ money tree” in your garden. It was a magical plant I used to love picking in grandma’s garden. ♥️ Thyme is my favorite herb, I use it in everything and I just love the smell. I must get some local honey and infuse my thyme , could you add lemon slices in with it as well?
I wouldn't because there could be fungus or bacteria on the rind, I would add lemon juice if required.
🥰
I love how the dog eats some grass. My dog is forever eating grass and she helps herself to some raspberries (she's eaten my entire yield of raspberries this year), I adore thyme and I make alot of teas from my herbs especially a thyme tea. It's so warming on a cold winter day after walking my dog
It is perfect for after walking on a cold day - or working outside. xx
Lovely! 🌀
Thank you beatuful fairey!!!
Thank you for sharing ✌️💞🤟
So loved the video! Thyme is so delicious and these are wonderful uses! Ty for sharing
Thank you for this wonderful information, definitely a must have for these winter months coming in! Stay safe & healthy, blessings to you & yours ✨💚✨
Blessings to you too Missy!
@@DanusIrishHerbGarden Thank you!
You gave me some new ideas here. I use it summer and winter (also inspired from you) together with other herbs put in honey and winegar. As a child I loved Thyme, my grandmother put it in yellow pea soup. She also put it in a very norwegian recipe, which in this part of norway is called Kompe. She was the only one to put Thyme in it.....and everybody loved it! If a cold is coming up nevertheless, losing my voice : Cups of tea, from fresh or dryed Thyme, cures it very fast.
He certainly does! Thyme is very fast working I find.
Danu
I would like to get a couple of your products to stop coughs and colds.
Best Wishes Anthony
Hey Anthony - I am sorry but I don't sell my products. Trying to get you to make your own😂

I learn so much from you love your videos and I am ready to make this oxi meld with some of my thyme thank you.
Go for it!
Lovely video, thank you! It sounds a lot like oregano. Only possibly milder in flavor? I used to use oregano a lot. I would like to try thyme, too.
Thyme is so good,Ive also used it to make a herbal tea mixed with bearberry leaves for urine infection,so common in autumn and spring, its really good
Yes I watch many older videos too ❤, but we’re did you get your green overall bibs from , I would love some for when I work outside
Thank U for Clarifying which are The Best Thymes for Medicinal usage.
Do you ever use Savory?
Fun encouraging video time for thyme great ideas. I like honey with thyme
Glad you enjoyed it xx
Thank you for another wonderful installment. We look forward to your new content each week. We have harsh and snowy winters here and we live in a small apartment with no outside space for growing things. Can you make any recommendations for growing Thyme (or any other herb) indoors during the dark season?
Well I would sow some seeds in spring time and the Thyme will be grown in time for next winter and then keep on a bright window sill but not where there is too much cold air. Best of luck!
Great in a tea either alone or mixed w/ other herbs! Is English time good medicinally? Lemon thyme & garlic are awesome w/ chicken!
I was just weeding my thyme today. Ill nave to make some of thyme honey, oxymel, and vinegar. I use it and oregano often in my cooking. I must plant more.🌿🌿🌿✨💫✨ TY Terri.
I always think that too, about planting more, when I am with my Thyme plants xx
This past winter I used thyme and usnea tincture. It was brilliant!
A great combination!
