You can adjust the blue light function, there are five levels. I find that using blue light filter glasses work better and feel better on the eyes. The stronger blue light filter setting you use seems to dim the picture. Its is excellent for reading, but I still recommend blue light glasses over the on board filters, its more comfortable. As far as other options, BenQ, AOC, and Acer are similar with different connectors and monitor stand options, just make sure you get an IPS panel type, it's best for reading. Oh, yeah, I use Gunnar Glasses.-- Update, I just scanned the settings and there is a reading mode which I believe minimizes (highest anti-bluelight setting) the blue light and It does feel better on the eyes, but the screen turns a little yellow and is dimmer.

Both things depend on luck (or lack thereof) for each specific *unit,* not model. That said, you're less likely to have dead pixels with manufacturers that have good manufacturing practices and quality control, and Asus is certainly renowned for both. As for light leakage (the correct term would be "backlight bleeding"), that's a common issue with *all* IPS monitors, regardless of model, price range, or manufacturer, and again, it depends on your luck with your specific unit. Some users report success in eliminating it by loosening the internal screws that hold the LCD panel in place, but that's a risky operation that can damage your monitor and void your warranty -- I wouldn't do that. In my experience, in most cases backlight bleeding is hardly noticeable (if at all) during normal use, and I don't consider it a serious issue. In my opinion, the advantages of IPS monitors in terms of color fidelity and viewing angles more than make up for any backlight bleeding that may occur.
