Glad to hear your positioning explanations. Staying away from minions for Kt's flamestrike, being on the other side of the tribute for channeling. Minor actions with a major impact.
Would be interested in seeing a game where you lose. I think it's relatively easy to post a game where you and your team are in the driver seat all game, but I think it would be more interesting to see a game where you've been really challenged and had to make actual decisions. Outcome of the game (win or lose) is actually irrelevent now that I think about it
These videos always seem like he's doing commentary while playing a live game. So the game could go either way. I've seen him post games interviewing people he played against and who beat him.
@@votalis4089 They have a point, there are comeback mechanics we never see used since he is always winning lol! macro and micro \o.o/ Your just too good NotParadox lol! I have posted losses. Usually it's on PTR where I don't have a lot of time to get a video done, but I am often trying to teach something and showing me doing something right leading to a loss get's people wanting to argue if that was actually correct. Hence why when posting a video to teach something it tends to be a win or a short clip. For example I did a video about taking trades when you're behind and I was down an entire level during a 3rd trib.
@@NotParadox I think I misphrased it, I think a very close match would be very interesting to watch Keep up the great content man by the way, I appreciate your work I just felt like chipping in an opinion I hope I didn't come out as entitled.
I really love the way you explain your gameplay and the decisions you take and I find this video highly informative for my Alexstrasza learning. Also, I would really love to see that you create some playlists for the "Getting in the mind", "4 Mistakes" etc. I would be easier to find them. Thanks for the great content and keep up the good work!
Thanks to your Abathor vid i started using him alot more. The healing is useful to deny a kill and the speed burst can help them out of a fight. Also the double symbiote can help get a kill
Idk. The Alex against a Kaelthas and Azmo sounds nuts to me. I know if you'r good enough anything is possible. However when I see this play out I can see they do noting to prevent the heals. I have the feeling that these comp and the outcome of it, wouldn't work out in HL. Just a thought.
I didn't hear you mention it so: I've played Alexstraza twice, the most important thing I've noted, is that you should (always) use your W before entering Dragon, or before leaving it (as the CD resets)
Hmmm... Regarding the builds: I play Alex as my go-to healer in silver league, and I kinda switch the builds in their roles: "W build" (I pretty much always pick lifeblossom at 7) with Life-Binder to keep a single teammate alive, while Q build when my team is backline heavy, and doesn't stack up much so I have to juggle multiple healing targets. Agree on Draconic Discipline for 16 though. The other talents are nice in themselves but offer not a lot of value compared to lengthened DQ.
During these videos where I am talking throughout them, I don't play HL, part of the reason is so I can focus on explaining everything. I do replay analysis all the time of my HL and TL games though. It's not really getting in the mind during a replay analysis because you don't hear all the possible things I want to do, you only see what I did and maybe a reason why I did it.
I don’t understand how people can pick stitches to tank vs auto attack heroes... the KT pick was the only good choice, but didn’t work out because stitches couldn’t take all the auto attacks staying alive no matter the amount of healing, it will never works... people forget that stitches is an antimagic tank just like anub’arak, a tank against mages like Liming, jaina, Kt, Kz, mephisto. He can be used as an off tank when you’re facing a mixed team magic+auto attacks. But as a main tank vs auto-attackers never works. Now this doesn’t mean you must always focus the tanks :D the main focus is to try to split the opponent heroes and kill them all one by one ☝️ and the best thing to do and I love is to kill their tank last, it generate hate and complains on a team about the focus and the healing 👹
Really would love if they gave Alex the "massive" trait during her Dragon form. It would fit the theme and the huge Hitbox wouldn't be so much of a downside anymore (you are already punished by AOE and Blocks quite a lot). Plus: Thrall throwing a big ass dragon just like that simply looks stupid as heck.
My only issue with the Q build (75% build) and that is that in most teamfights I need to use Q on someone in melee to keep them alive. And then I get fucked when I do another Q and drop below 75% health and the hp just starts dropping after that and we have to retreat. Am I playing her incorrectly or do you guys have any tips for these kind of situations when you drop of the tier 7 talent flower?
Did KT get drafted after Alex or before? I am wondering if I should be deterred from running her into a KT. I usually am, but maybe I shouldn't be? They had KT and Azmo and it seemed mostly fine.
Imagine being KT or Azmo, are you going to wait for them to heal? If you do, you won't do dmg, so not only they won't have to heal, they will start winning. So you have to use your abilities. Then Alex will put her heal either in the fight, right after one of the abilities, or somewhere away, where the KT or azmo won't see. The only downside is when you are unlucky and they randomly hit your heal. So overall, it is not so important imo. What you should consider is if your team will be clustered often. If the enemy has a KT and/or Azmo and your team has no good reason to be clustered, then your team will not cluster, so going Alex might be a bad idea, as her W will force your team to be clustered and then KT and Azmo get an unneeded opportunity to deal dmg(+ if your team wont cluster, they are likely squishier heroes), because the rest of the time(when not going for W heals) your team will be scattered intentionally, to avoid the damage. In the game in this video, the Alex team has 3 melee champions, which means that they will cluster regardless, as they need to do something and to do something, they need to get to the enemy and that will cluster them. If your team won't cluster, but there is no specific danger in forcing them to cluster, then Alex is ok, but you might want to go the Q build, as even without a specific reason, it is a bad idea to cluster in general, but it depends. im just diamond 4 tho.
you don't get a lot of value as you only get dragon form for 20 secs every 2 mins one thing I have learned from watching paradox's vids is the importance of value
I imagine its better if u atleast grab the flame buffet heal. That is mandatory to give the talent value. The cd reduction quest is nice at level 1, and id u grab both, i imagine this would work if you are constantly getting focused in team fights by heroes withour cc? The dragon gives u extra health, and then the three talens combined gives u 10% maximum on auto attack plus cc, plus cd reduction on your dragon for each hero hit
I think alextraza stronger hability is W and you should pick all talents that empower the W. My main reason for picking alextraza is :" I need a healer base on aoe healing+ zoning potential but there are some problems with W build. First the globes (you need 25) so you have to be roaming all time between lanes to complete it fast.Second the W delay makes so predictable and third the mana cost and cooldown. Anyway i think alextrasza is very strong and has incredible healing with : W + w shield at lv 13 o 16, The AOE healing at lv 10, the globe of the W , the dragon form when she uses her trait etc.. To sum up, alextraza in good hands is very good and if u play it focus on late game(maps and comps based on late game). Alextrasza on late game is icredibily strong.Take profit of it and play safe in early game until you get the latest talents.
Does dragonqueen still make you invincible for a split second? And if so, should you ever use it to dodge potentially lethal abilities like pyro or deathring of frost?
It still provides immunity frames, however it is very difficult to pull off since its such a small window and its connected to a channel. Normally people who dodge stuff like that normally do on accident.
Pretty much what lowerspider said. It's very difficult to pull off. I have successfully done it against a pyroblast once, but it's almost not worth blowing such a long cooldown to avoid a 30 second death timer. It's better to just put yourself in a situation where you never need to use the i frames.
Try W build in bronze, it’s the only thing they do avoid getting hit by lol! I also consider if the other team are going to give your team a lot of work. I mean some team comps you find yourself avoiding a lot more things than others, for that sort of game id consider being swayed more to Q build so that you do all the thinking not your team. It makes their job easier, which in turn makes your job easier. But I guess it depends on the skill of the players.
Yeah I think Q build is probably a lot more reliable in low ranks. Part of the problem with w build is alex knowing where to put ws to not bait your team, or so your team is getting healed without paying attention to the heals. For example if you're looking at 8:35 you can see my team is just fighting normally and I heal them through probably 10k damage. Yet in the early game I used qs to heal my team and ws to heal myself.
@@NotParadox +1 to that. I have seen way too many team wipes LOL. I wait for the more problematic spells to be cast before I do if I can. -- I started wondering about how the level20 ult upgrade combined. If you’re going dragon first dose it extend or reset the time and how many W can you get off? So I had a little test to see. Turns out it extends the time. But more importantly it’s a lot easier to get an extra W if you go DWR instead of DRW since DRW will put you last W right at the end of the dragon queen, leaving less room for flexibility. \o.o/ Yay to learning new things! It also appears that Alexs attacks are not the 0.8/second they say they are! I tried to work out the timing by counting them at first and found they were off by 2-4 seconds by the end! Tho I don’t have any capture software to count the frames and work it out accurately lol. However without Dragonic Discipline I consistently got 1 extra attack from going ult rather than trait, so it’s clearly not perfect. There is also the fact I’m doing this in try mode that is defiantly not inaccurate at all, not in the slightest, is it li-ming orb... lol.
I wouldn't do it even in lower leagues. I only go full E build in Coop Vs AI if I'm matched with several supports. While I nicknamed full E build "Assassinstrasza", a lot of it comes from the bots not dodging your E's, and even silver leaguers can do that.
