Got me worried ,and after watching you just put on upper on that exactly what I want plus I can install myself. Also I wasn’t aware you had 1 1/2” spacers on your rims. I couldn’t get how the 265/65 17s looked so good. I’m new to modding and you saved me a lot of grief. Thank you
I added the 1.5" wheel spacers too and the bolts poke just a tad (you really have to look)... However, the good thing about those new wheels is they have the indentions in the back that allow the wheel to still sit flush on the spacers so we are still safe. No cutting. The little poke sits right into the openings. I also have the leveling kit (which I love)... Please let me know if you see a difference in mpg after doing these two mods... Looking awesome!
Thank you! I haven't noticed any difference in MPG yet but we'll see. The studs seem to be covered but even if not the wheels have indents in the back that should take care of it.
Just bought a 22 Colorado Z71 long bed. It came with 32s A/T tires and I think all I need is 1 inch spacers to get them even with the wheel wells. Also I measured and I think I need a 2 inch level kit to level the truck. I'll measure again. Before I do anything I noticed my bed is 1/2-1 inch off centered. Working with the dealer to get it centered before I do anything first.
Another great tutorial from Justin's Truck Garage. :-) The brake caliper paint makes the calipers look powder coated. I'd leave the ride height just where it is, but that's personal preference. Thanks for your videos!!! I have done some of mods you have done on my 2015 Red Rock Metallic with no issues. 1.5" spacers, black fog light trim, black Redline badges & black bowtie emblems so far. Looking to do a number of others. One tip for eliminating wheel spin when tightening the front spacers/wheels though, if you have a 4WD. Hey man I just bought a 2019 Colorado Z71 and your vision for modifying the Colorado is excellent. I was pretty excited about using the fender flares and wheel spacers to give my truck a wider looking stance. HOWEVER, in my search for 1.5" wheel spacers I had a Chevy mechanic explain to me how they were a horrible idea and would likely result in a prematurely worn out hub assembly, bearings, and suspension. He went on to say that if/when that happened and I brought my Colorado to the dealership for "warranty work" (to repair/replace the hub assembly - the repair would not be covered because of the wheel spacers precipitated the damage and voided the warranty). So, before I bought anything I did more research. I spoke with 2 different truck modification shops in Springfield. Both agreed that the wheel spacers were a bad idea for the potential damage mentioned earlier. They suggested that I instead by wheels with a 0 degree offset as that would most likely get my tires in alignment with my fender flares without the wear & tear on the front end of my truck. What are your thoughts (i.e. are you concerned that the wheel spacers have such a bad reputation and may be an extremely costly alternative to just buying wheels with a (0) offset?
I have heard on and off about possible problems. My personal experience with them has been nothing but good. If you find and talk to any reputable mechanic he will give it to you straight. Spacers DO take life off of suspension components but we're talking years and thousands of miles down the road. This isn't going to blow your suspension apart in 3 months. I have a 2019 WT Colorado that I just paid off. Got some wheels about 2300 miles ago. Just seen some spacers and I think I’m gonna go for it after watching this. Spacers were 2”
Hey man, I’ve got the same spacers and leveling kit on my ‘16 Z71. It’s almost time to replace tires, and I want to go bigger (of course). What did you go with? I don’t mind trimming some waffles. I’m thinking 255/75r17..?
I went with a 1.75-inch taller strut in the front to level my 2016 Chevy colorado z71. I have to go with a wheel spacer as it didn't change my tires from hitting the frame at full lock turning. The dealership recommended a half-inch wheel spacers, but finding them is like finding hens teeth. Impossible almost. What do you think of the 1.5 inch spacers and the ride and width of the set up. And what did you do as far as tire rub?
Have a 2019 Colorado extended cab. Went with 2.5 inch leveling kit. Looks great no problems. Had it aligned when finished. Wheel spacers are not a good idea. Hard on wheel bearings, ball joints. Maybe go with a zero offset wheel instead. Stock is 33 mm I think.
The wheels need to be pushed out in my opinion. They may wear those parts slightly faster but not a big deal for me. I've had them on for about 5k miles now and no issues.
My personal opinion I like a little bit of Rake in the back I might add air shocks to my 2019 canyon just to give it a little bit of left in the back that’s it I just like the Raked out look
I just put the 1 1/2” titan wheel spacers on my z71 Colorado and the front went on fine but when checking the bolts for being proud/ out too far at the back wheel, i had to grind about a 1/4” off the bolts to get them back and out of the way of the wheel. A credit card works great as a straight edge for checking...
Yes, but the problem was with the factory bolts being proud of the spacer. Weird that it was only the back that I had to grind as the front was good. Glad I checked as this could be very dangerous I’m sure.... safety
Guess it’s a good idea to check every bolt if they used different sizes on the front and back on mine. you never know. Love your Colorado content though! I’ve almost done all the same stuff on mine as you have plus some other stuff. It’s Been fun for sure!
The rear bolts are about 1 5/8” witch makes this no good with 1 1/2” adaptors/ spacers. Your wheels may sit okay but it must be because there is a void behind your midnight wheel
I just installed a 1.5” front lift kit and the spacer was 3/4” and now the front and back are sitting right at 37” . My stock tires are 265/60-18. I drove it around the block and took it right to the alignment shop. They said the toe in was off 3-4 degrees and it was a good thing I took it to get an alignment after I test drove it and broke in the spacer, before it tore up my tires. Will check my clearances and see what the tallest and widest tire I can fit without it rubbing. I want to avoid cutting or modify anything. I have Goodyear fortitude stock tires and want something a little bit more aggressive. I’m hoping I can go a little bit more, possibly a 275/65-18 .
HorsePower Obsessed thanks I appreciate it. My thinking was I didn’t wanna have a cover put on the bed and then it lift the front end higher than the back so I didn’t know if 1 inch was the way to go what do u think
Seeing you do all this makes me wanna do some mods myself to my 2019 black Chevy Colorado z71... Still a fun watch even for not using this video as a tutorial... YET. It does kinda feel good to know there is one though! Thanks Justin.
Hello again HPO!! Just a little advice, when you tq down anything, not only in the correct order, but in increments, like say 30% at a time. With 140, you could go 40,50,50, that helps keep aluminum parts from possible cracks. Good luck! Then re-tq after 100 miles. Also wheel spacers do add extra forces to the bearings.
Your truck is looking great! I had a 2016 LT CCSB but sadly I was stuck and rolled in my roof by a crappy driver... But now I have a 2021 Bison CCSB and love it!!! I just started some minor mods as it's pretty much there outta the box. Keep the cool videos coming!
I have a 2016 colorado z71 and really am confused as to what spacers I need for my truck. I keep seeing 2 different sizes 6x5.5 or 6x4.5. My question is how do you measure to figure out what ine you need.
It's a fantastic truck! A full size would be a touch too big for what I need a truck for but this one is perfect! It's been a blast to modify it as well!
@@HorsePowerObsessed I just installed the 2” leveling kit with 1.5 “ spacer with new 265/70/17 tires they are rubbing when I turn don’t know what to do next. If I should take the spacers out or what is a fix for that ?
After all these years, are your wheel spacers still in use? Because I also bought a set of wheel spacers like yours for my 21 Canyon before and haven’t installed them yet. I just don’t know if it’s safe?
Nice set up brother. What size tires are those in video? I ask because I also have 1.5 spacers on my 2016 colorado LT with stock wheels and tires 255 65 17. Now I added a 2in level kit and 1in rear blocks... And really want to know if I can 265 70 17 tires with my setup now without crazy rubbing issues. Thanks
So the 1.5” spacers hid the stock nut? Custom Offsets and BORA spacers recommends not going under 1.75” for Chevys. Did you have any issues with the 1.5” spacers???
I have a 2018 GMC Canyon 4 wheel drive. I got a leveling kit from the dealership. Looks 100 % better. Cost me $600.00 to make it look like 4 wheel drive. Dealership did the work.
Awesome man. Looks perfect! I Just ordered a 1.25 inch spacers for my z71. Will end up adding the 1" level kit down the road for sure! Thanks for showing us how its done!
So I just got my 2 inch kit just like yours with the strut rings and the spacers are made of plastic and they say they're only 5/8 in spacers.. were your spacers a full inch or were they more around 5/8? I'm not thinking this is a big enough spacer for a 1 inch difference..
Ok good to know. I guess you dont need a full inch of spacer for that much lift on the truck. Mine are a hard plastic material. Hopefully they hold up! Gonna wait for my wheel spacers to get in next week before I install it all.
Thanks for all your posts on the z71. I have really enjoyed seeing your truck evolve! Question: In removing the air damn and adding the front levelers, how much has your mpg's changed? Thanks in advance!
go to fumoto oil drain plugs. I put one one and it works great get the longer adapter since the oil pan is slightly recessed and you cant spin the valve on without the adapter. Also check out third brake light blinking led light. I got mine on super bright leds.com. Next project is adding a indicator light on my 4x4 switch so i remember to switch back to 2 wheel drive.
What size of tires do you have? I just put 265/70r17 Mud terrain tires on and I’m getting a wee bit of rubbing when I really turn sharp. I’m hoping a 1 inch leveling kit will correct that. But, also worried spacers will make them rub worse.
the 1 inch level kit will fix it but the spacers will make it worse. If you do both, you'll also have to trim the front of the fender well plastic a bit. I have a video on it.
Are the Goodyears noisy at all and do you have experience with the BFG KO2 or Hankook DynaPro MT? The stock tires are just not cutting it for what i need it for and i love myself some aggresive tires but that dont have alot of road noise. Also, would you recommend plastidiping the stock rims, getting them powder coated, or buying midnight rims, idk how much you paid for the set but im slightly envious! Beautiful build
Thank you! I do have some experience with the BFG KO2 tires. My friend has them on his Toyota. They sound exactly the same as the Duratracs that I have on my Colorado and in my opinion the KO2's don't look as aggressive. I don't think they are loud they do have a noise at low speed that the stock tires on the Z71 didn't have but it highway speeds they sound exactly the same. I personally would either powder coat or buy the midnight edition rims if you can. I found these used off of a ZR2 with less than 2,000 mi on them for $1,000. That included everything tires, rims, TPMS, etc.
HorsePower Obsessed Adds a little flair to the front end plus protects. My truck is black I think it would look better on your red truck. Will totally stand out. It’s under $60 delivered to boot
Hey HPO. I have gone back and forth over do I or don't I add spacers... I love the look but don't want to ruin my bearings (they are NOT cheap to replace). Many say offset wheels will do the same thing. What are your thoughts on this?
Hi Justin, the truck is looking amazing, i like the red and black theme, i also like the corvette, since i had two myself and in the market for another. Could you offer me any input on my 2020 Colorado ZR2 i wish to install a ReadyLift 1.25" front leveling kit. Any issues with parts failure or engaging front lockers afterwards, if i level it ?
Im looking to put the same exact spacers on my truck. How are they holding up over time? any problems? also how thick are those fender flares off the actual body of the truck. My truck doesn't have the fender flares so Im trying to figure out how much my tires will poke outside the truck. thanks
instead of jamming that bar into your nice drivers seat and risking permanent upholstery damage...just use the same bar with a rag around it and put it between the protruding wheel lugs and lower the floor jack enough so the bar will not allow the hub to turn because the end of the bar is on the driveway and can't rotate. The rag prevents flattening the threads of the wheel lugs..easy breezy
HorsePower Obsessed that’s awesome man. I’ve been following your videos for a while now. I’m starting to work on my truck. I think I wanna do a 3 inch lift and 2 inch wheel spacers next on my 18 Colorado.
So the stock tire is 255/65/17. I got some falken tires but size 265/70/17. I’ll see if they rub... how much would a shop charge to do the lift (in case it does rub or would help the height.,
HorsePower Obsessed I hope I don’t get any rubbing. I do want to lift it. But the gas in Los Angeles is crazy high and ain’t trying to be pimpin on a budget. Thanks for the info.
I have the same 2018 make and model except in blue. I was never into crazy mods but these are subtle and look awesome. My wheel flares are a little bigger than yours so the spacers should work great.
No problem! I started this channel to share a passion and that's impossible if I don't interact so I will do it for as long as I have this channel! Are you going to grab the same ones I used? I highly recommend them. Great price and great quality.
Would you have needed to modify the waffles if you had installed the other spacer for 2” leveling? I am about to do these same mods but my fender flares came on it and really hoping I don’t have to remove them since the adhesive tape was used.
HorsePower Obsessed thanks for the help! Can’t wait to get these done! I did the stubby antenna, interior lights, and cargo light.. I also had the windows tinted and had a power sunroof installed on my 2019 Crush Z71...loving the videos!!
Hey , are you at all worried about the warranty on truck being voided from the leveling kit? The dealership told me it would void everything except the motor if I did a leveling kit...?
Not at all. It wouldn't void anything but select suspension parts IF something happened that they could prove was caused by the leveling kit. The 1" block I used at the top is unlikely to cause any issues anyway.
@@chadbreedlove5457 not true. It only voids the warranty of any affected part. Basically, if I have a leveling kit but my transmission starts slipping it will still be covered. The only thing a leveling kit would void warranty of would be suspension.
Hey man I know you already got rid of the z71 but did you ever have any problems with the wheel spacers ? I’m thinking of getting some but I plan on towing a bit and putting some weight on my bed
I have a z71 colorado 2015 I would like to know what suspension you put on it for me to buy it to put it on as the tulle looks I love your pickup brother
No issues at all. Makes the truck look much more aggressive. I definitely recommend them. The ones I have linked in the description are perfect for the money.
I had this installed on my 2017 Z71 back in 2018. For the first few months it was great, then this knocking sound started whenever I would turn the wheel. I brought it back to the place that did it and they said it is a known issue and what they had to do was reverse the spacers (top to bottom and visa versa). they did that and the sound is gone. Now for the past year they are squeaking very badly. Only when I drive below 30mph. It's so annoying. Anything I can do to fix? Sprays or lubricants? Or just bring it back and have them fix it? Thanks for any advice.
Did you just slide the spacer over the top of the strut? Cause I was watching a Rough Country video and they pull the strut apart and install it below the top plate
Hey man. Love the truck. I’m about to do this to my truck later this week. Do I need to torque anything else other then the lugs to put the tire back on?
Got a 06 Colorado single cab 4x4 and it already looks like it has a leveling kit on it cause it sits higher then most i see around that's stock like mine. I bought from a used car dealership and im a newby trying to figure out where to start on figuring out how much bigger i can go with tires and wheels but don't really know much or where to start. It has i think the factory 15 inch tires on it but where it looks like it has a leveling kit on it iy makes those tires look to small for the truck

Awesome. I'm sure you can go a hair bigger. I know mineare 265/65/17 and I could have gone bigger if I didn't put the wheel spacers on.
What made you add the other spacer to make it 2 inches instead of keeping it 1 inch
It wasn't quite level. It needed the other inch to make it a perfectly level truck.
HorsePower Obsessed thanks I appreciate it. My thinking was I didn’t wanna have a cover put on the bed and then it lift the front end higher than the back so I didn’t know if 1 inch was the way to go what do u think
2" for sure. Perfectly level, the front is not higher than the rear. The rear is actually still about .3 to .5" higher than the front.
What kind of tail lights did u get ate they easy to install
Spyder tail lights.
You mentioned the rubbing when fully turned in. Was it more from the lift and not the spacers that caused the rubbing. I was not sure... Thanks
The wheel spacers are definitely what caused this.
@@HorsePowerObsessed Do you have a video on how you fixed this?
Seeing you do all this makes me wanna do some mods myself to my 2019 black Chevy Colorado z71... Still a fun watch even for not using this video as a tutorial... YET. It does kinda feel good to know there is one though! Thanks Justin.
Thank you!
Looks perfect Justin 👌🏻. Nice detailed Vlog on your mods . Tires line up just right with the fenders now. The stance looks unreal 😎.
Thanks, man! It's really coming along. 😎👍
Just bought 2 inch leveling kit for the front. I cannot wait to see how my truck looks.
Gives it a perfectly level look! Looks awesome!
Hello again HPO!! Just a little advice, when you tq down anything, not only in the correct order, but in increments, like say 30% at a time. With 140, you could go 40,50,50, that helps keep aluminum parts from possible cracks. Good luck! Then re-tq after 100 miles. Also wheel spacers do add extra forces to the bearings.
awesome video, most lift videos forgot reminders to adjust headlights. After a simple lift your lights will blind on coming traffic.
Thank you. Good point!
Thank you!
My colorado is color Harvest.
Bronze metallic.
I have a 2016 colorado z71 and really am confused as to what spacers I need for my truck. I keep seeing 2 different sizes 6x5.5 or 6x4.5. My question is how do you measure to figure out what ine you need.
You have me really dialling in on a Colorado keep thinking about a full size but the Colorado/canyon crew with the long box is the perfect size for me
It's a fantastic truck! A full size would be a touch too big for what I need a truck for but this one is perfect! It's been a blast to modify it as well!
Good video on the install. Just leveled my canyon using this video as a guide. Now i need new wheels and tires. haha
Thanks! The modding is a slippery slope!
Hello on the video you mentioned 1” leveling kit but the link is for a 2 “ which one did you put on the truck ?
The 2 inch level kit is a two-part system where if you only install one piece it’s 1 inch.
@@HorsePowerObsessed I just installed the 2” leveling kit with 1.5 “ spacer with new 265/70/17 tires they are rubbing when I turn don’t know what to do next. If I should take the spacers out or what is a fix for that ?
Just got a 2022 lt blacked out do they make a 2 inch lowering shackle for the back ..just asking
After all these years, are your wheel spacers still in use? Because I also bought a set of wheel spacers like yours for my 21 Canyon before and haven’t installed them yet. I just don’t know if it’s safe?
Yes they were absolutely fine.
I think it is 2 inch leveling kit just for the front of the truck. It just levels her out. Looks 100% better. All under warranty.
👍👍
Nice set up brother. What size tires are those in video? I ask because I also have 1.5 spacers on my 2016 colorado LT with stock wheels and tires 255 65 17. Now I added a 2in level kit and 1in rear blocks...
And really want to know if I can 265 70 17 tires with my setup now without crazy rubbing issues. Thanks
Yes sir! They are, in fact, 265/65/17.
So the 1.5” spacers hid the stock nut? Custom Offsets and BORA spacers recommends not going under 1.75” for Chevys. Did you have any issues with the 1.5” spacers???
I have not had any issues, no. The 1.5" spacer perfectly buries the stock studs.
I have a 2018 GMC Canyon 4 wheel drive. I got a leveling kit from the dealership. Looks 100 % better. Cost me $600.00 to make it look like 4 wheel drive. Dealership did the work.
How big of a leveling kit?
Awesome man. Looks perfect! I Just ordered a 1.25 inch spacers for my z71. Will end up adding the 1" level kit down the road for sure! Thanks for showing us how its done!
You're welcome! I might bump up to a 1.5-in spacer but I think 2-in might be a touch too much. We'll see. 👍👍
So I just got my 2 inch kit just like yours with the strut rings and the spacers are made of plastic and they say they're only 5/8 in spacers.. were your spacers a full inch or were they more around 5/8? I'm not thinking this is a big enough spacer for a 1 inch difference..
Mine were made out of aluminum. It was only 5/8 of an inch though. It raised the truck exactly 1 inch even though they were only 5/8.
Ok good to know. I guess you dont need a full inch of spacer for that much lift on the truck. Mine are a hard plastic material. Hopefully they hold up! Gonna wait for my wheel spacers to get in next week before I install it all.
I don't know why those would be plastic... I'm not sure how much I would trust that. Mine were definitely aluminum.
Thanks for all your posts on the z71. I have really enjoyed seeing your truck evolve! Question: In removing the air damn and adding the front levelers, how much has your mpg's changed? Thanks in advance!
Thank you! I have not noticed any change in my MPG with any of my mods. 👍👍
@@HorsePowerObsessed Thanks for your response! What do you average?
You're quite welcome! Right now it is right around 17mpg. Keep in mind that is almost all city driving, very rare to see a highway with this truck.
@@HorsePowerObsessed got it. Thanks man!!!
I added Anzo headlighs to my 2021 zr2 and love them.
i did a 2in leveling kit on my 2018 colorado and love the stance on it and ride good
If you wouldn't mind send me some pictures. I'm wondering if I should go higher or not because this almost looks perfect.
HorsePower Obsessed sure I’ll send u some in instagram DM
Thank you for the info!
Nope. If it's good now it will be fine with spacers. 👍
pedromercado 636 👍
Also, I believe my level was 2.5" spacer and my wheels still rub in reverse full lock but very, very little. No rub going forward in full lock.
Yeah the rub is very minimal but I'm going to take care of it this weekend hopefully! Very little cutting needed to fix it anyway.
What’s full lock mean?
Fully turned and held to one side.
go to fumoto oil drain plugs.
What are the largest tires that you can run on the set up?
265/65/17
Did you have to adjust your headlights after the level kit. I am going to put a 1" level kit in mine. Your truck has made me want to mod mine.
I did aim them down after the level kit.
HorsePower Obsessed Thank you. I'm doing falken 265/65/17 with some zr2 wheels on my z71. Thanks again.
Nice! Sounds like an awesome setup.
I added the rc 2 in leveling kit and driver side about 1/2 in lower than the passenger side
That's interesting. My drivers side is a hair lower but it's not even 1/8th of an inch different.
Everyone I talked to says its the chevy lean but the back is the same hight as the front driver side
Love the lift look. I am curious, are these the biggest tires that you can fit on this lift without rubbing?
With this level kit and the wheel spacers I have, yes.
I see Goodyear wranger... Is this the duratec 265/65/r17?
@@HorsePowerObsessed
Take a look at the AVS hood protector in smoked black. Looks kick ass and keeps the rocks off your hood. Just installed today.
I had considered one of those! I may still do it! 👍👍
HorsePower Obsessed Adds a little flair to the front end plus protects. My truck is black I think it would look better on your red truck. Will totally stand out. It’s under $60 delivered to boot
Nice! 👍👍 I'll check it out. Thanks for the tip!
Sir, did the tire rub due to the wheel spacer, do you think a 1in wheel spacer will rub?
Wheel spacer for sure. 1” probably wouldn’t rub.
@@HorsePowerObsessed Thank you, ohh and the truck looks AWESOME
Those are the Chevy steps right? Do you off road? Can they be used as rock sliders?
Yes they are. I haven't done any serious off roading yet but from my understanding they can be used as rock sliders.
What brand of tires and Size do you have on your new wheels
265/65/17
Hey HPO. I have gone back and forth over do I or don't I add spacers... I love the look but don't want to ruin my bearings (they are NOT cheap to replace). Many say offset wheels will do the same thing. What are your thoughts on this?
I had these spacers for over 2 years on my truck with no issues. I don't think they are big enough to cause any real harm.
Are these the stock tire ..and if I wanted to go with a larger tire and same size level would large amounts of trimming be required to avoid rubbing?
A lift would be required to go any bigger.
Dig it! Wife wants to do this to her 18 colorado. Hows the overall feel after getting it dialed in
It felt no different than stock. 👍👍
you think you can use that same caliper paint to paint your uper control arms red to ??
Probably could! I never thought about that...
Thank you. I haven't heard of any issues with the leveling kit on the ZR2 so I think you'd be fine!
Im looking to put the same exact spacers on my truck. How are they holding up over time? any problems? also how thick are those fender flares off the actual body of the truck. My truck doesn't have the fender flares so Im trying to figure out how much my tires will poke outside the truck. thanks
The wheel spacers were on this truck for almost 2 solid years and never had an issue with them. The fender flares are maybe an inch off the body.
instead of jamming that bar into your nice drivers seat and risking permanent upholstery damage...just use the same bar with a rag around it and put it between the protruding wheel lugs and lower the floor jack enough so the bar will not allow the hub to turn because the end of the bar is on the driveway and can't rotate. The rag prevents flattening the threads of the wheel lugs..easy breezy
Apparently locking it into 4 wheel drive low will lock them up, too. 👍👍
What’s your advice on the spacers? Do you like it or no? I’m thinking of adding them to my truck with my stock tires.
Easily the best mod I did to this truck. Makes it look much more aggressive. Still going strong.
HorsePower Obsessed that’s awesome man. I’ve been following your videos for a while now. I’m starting to work on my truck. I think I wanna do a 3 inch lift and 2 inch wheel spacers next on my 18 Colorado.
Awesome! Thanks for the support, man! These trucks respond well to mods so I'm all for it!
So the stock tire is 255/65/17. I got some falken tires but size 265/70/17. I’ll see if they rub... how much would a shop charge to do the lift (in case it does rub or would help the height.,
The level kit? I was quoted around 300.00 to install it when I asked just for giggles.
HorsePower Obsessed I hope I don’t get any rubbing. I do want to lift it. But the gas in Los Angeles is crazy high and ain’t trying to be pimpin on a budget. Thanks for the info.
@@alangonzalez2089 lol you're welcome! I know for a fact that 265/65/17 doesn't rub so odds are good you'll be fine!
I have the same 2018 make and model except in blue. I was never into crazy mods but these are subtle and look awesome. My wheel flares are a little bigger than yours so the spacers should work great.
Absolutely! These mods made this truck come alive! 👍👍
thinking of going with a 2in spacer I'm on a 6in lift with 20x9 rims with -10 offset. What are your thoughts?
You’ll probably be ok, that 6” lift is no joke.
How is your truck running with the wheel spacers? Have you had any trouble with towing?
Absolutely great! No issues whatsoever. 👍👍
Thanks man, I love how you reply to your followers! I will be purchasing soon!
No problem! I started this channel to share a passion and that's impossible if I don't interact so I will do it for as long as I have this channel! Are you going to grab the same ones I used? I highly recommend them. Great price and great quality.
HorsePower Obsessed yes, I got the same ones, I ordered them today!
Awesome! You're gonna love them!
Do you think it will rub without the spacers? I have a Z71 and it came with 255/65 17. Thinking of putting the 265/65 17 Duratracs. Thanks
No. It will not rub without the spacers.
Will you be adding larger tires when you need new tires? 265/70/17's?
With the wheel spacers I don't think anything bigger will fit.
Nice truck man.. you Rich as hell man
Thanks! I'm certainly blessed and surely work hard for everything I own 😊
HorsePower Obsessed that’s what’s up :)
😎👍
Where did you get the black fog light molding?
Tascaparts.com
Do you need a spring compressor to install leveling kit?
Yes sir. You can install the 1" level without it but if you do the full 2" you will.
HorsePower Obsessed thank you and also what is the max tire size you can run with a 1 inch?
Did you get the alignment done after that?
Yes sir.
What size tires do you have right now Sir? I will be replacing mine soon and i need some advice to get my truck look more aggressive.
great video. any long term issues with the lift and spacers?
Thanks! I had no issues for the 3 years I had it.
What brand running boards are you using?
These are OEM gm running boards for the Colorado.
Would you have needed to modify the waffles if you had installed the other spacer for 2” leveling? I am about to do these same mods but my fender flares came on it and really hoping I don’t have to remove them since the adhesive tape was used.
Yes you still have to. I have since installed it and the 1.5" spacers still rub.
HorsePower Obsessed ahh geez. So modifying the waffles didn’t give enough room to keep from rubbing?
Oh yes, they do not rub after modifying the waffles.
HorsePower Obsessed thanks for the help! Can’t wait to get these done! I did the stubby antenna, interior lights, and cargo light.. I also had the windows tinted and had a power sunroof installed on my 2019 Crush Z71...loving the videos!!
Nice! I appreciate it!
Your dealer is right. Any type of lift kit, engine modification, etc WILL void the warranty.
I did not have any issues in the 2 years I had them installed.
How are the spacers and level kit holding up? Any changes?
All good! No problems at all! 👍👍
What is the safest one the 1 inch or 2 inch because of the ball joints?
Either one is fine from what I've read. It doesn't become an issue until larger lifts are used.
Struts or spacers what do you recommend??
Struts are the "better" way to go but also significantly more expensive.
@@HorsePowerObsessed thank you :) love your videos
Did you have to take apart the strut to place the 1 inch spacer?
No. It goes on top of the assembly.
I have a z71 colorado 2015 I would like to know what suspension you put on it for me to buy it to put it on as the tulle looks I love your pickup brother
Where did you get the black fender flares? I’ve been looking for some for my truck but don’t want ones that stick out like crazy
Best ones out there in my opinion. You can get them here: amzn.to/2u2EH6f
HorsePower Obsessed thanks, I just found your video where you put them on right after I commented
so is it the wheel spacers or the lift which is causing the wheel well rub?
The wheel spacers. It's an easy fix though. I'm making a video shortly to show you how to fix it.
Thx Dude; your videos are awesome. I have a 2018 silver Colorado, and incorporating a lot of the stuff you and Matt are doing
Thank you! 😊
How do you like the wheel spacers? Any issues at all with them?
No issues at all. Makes the truck look much more aggressive. I definitely recommend them. The ones I have linked in the description are perfect for the money.
HorsePower Obsessed awesome thank you! I will be installing my leveling kit this week and going to be ordering those spacers!
Awesome. You'll love them. It definitely makes it look more like a "truck"
There is no way to reverse these spacers… I had this setup for over 2 years without any issue.
Did the 1.5” spacers require the wheel studs to be trimmed?
No they don't.
Did you just slide the spacer over the top of the strut? Cause I was watching a Rough Country video and they pull the strut apart and install it below the top plate
You have to do both of those things to get the full 2" level. The spacer at the top only gives you 1"
What size tires are you running with the one inch lift and spacers
265/65/17
Would the 1 inch fit a 265/70r17? 2016 z71 Colorado
Yes it would.
Hey man. Love the truck. I’m about to do this to my truck later this week. Do I need to torque anything else other then the lugs to put the tire back on?
There is a torque rating on the top strut nuts too, it's not very high though so I just got them tight.
Will any of this affect bumper-to-bumper warranty
What’s the tire set you have?
Wrangler duratracs
hey did you add those fender flares? If so what brand are they?
Yes I did. They are OEM flares from GM. You can buy the same ones here: amzn.to/2u2EH6f
I put 20s on mine I have 295/55 and I have a 2inch level thinking about going with a spacer but don't know if it would be a good idea
Can always try it and see! I think every truck looks better with a slight bit of wheel poke and spacers are the easiest way to do that.
Did ur tire rub before u added the spacers? And is 2656517 your stock size?
Got a 06 Colorado single cab 4x4 and it already looks like it has a leveling kit on it cause it sits higher then most i see around that's stock like mine. I bought from a used car dealership and im a newby trying to figure out where to start on figuring out how much bigger i can go with tires and wheels but don't really know much or where to start. It has i think the factory 15 inch tires on it but where it looks like it has a leveling kit on it iy makes those tires look to small for the truck
Where can I buy those drop step nerf bars??
