HOLY SH*T!... Upgraded to a cold air induction intake, changed out a soler 76mm throttle body, and installed this wind boost... I haven't felt this kind of power since my 91 Z28 Camaro.
This thing is beyond amazing. Installed mine last night and just took it for a drive. Oh my goodness. This thing is super duper cool. Not only does it have a range of settings in different categories, but it can make it so my accelerator works properly, if you’re not careful it turns the Colorado into a race car. In the Sport 8 mode (not even sport +) I got to 50 in about 3 seconds. Speed limit 55. It also affects the volume and sound of the exhaust. I’m really enjoying this. Thank you so very much for the video and recommendation. **** Just an FYI, for anyone buying one. DO NOT install it with your truck running. It will temporarily mess up your engine power. Be smart. Leave the truck off. Also be smart and connect your Bluetooth phone app before installing the wind booster if you don’t want to use the little box thing.
@@HorsePowerObsessed well the first thing I got was Nurf bars then led lights for the interior. Next is probably the tonneau cover before I even get led exterior lights. Last is the outlanding bed rack since it’s the most expensive.

I fixed the problem with a tune from TRIFECTA Performance, much better cuz then I have separate modes ... sport eco tow and offroad. Offroad is a ZR2 mode.
Went with the Pedal Commander on my ‘18 Z71 diesel and it worked wonders for the dead pedal. Best part is that these throttle controllers are not detectable by the dealer and do not void the warranty like a tune. I also wouldn’t advise changing settings while driving because this can throw codes for throttle position.
Thanks for sharing. I bought this and it shipped from Hong Kong to Texas in 5 days! Easy install thanks to your video. Boy is my Canyon responsive now!! Thanks again for all of the videos. You rock!
Soler Performance makes these for vettes. Also got a new throttle body from them that made a big difference in performance in my 2020 Chevy Colorado 3.6L. Check them out, very nice people and very helpful.
I know in the video you mentioned that the wind booster controller doesn't need to be plugged in while using the app now after sometime to become familiar with it. is that statement still true in my case the less wires the better.
I've only had my 2021 Z71 for about 2 months and I've definitely noticed this pulling out of my drive on the uphill slope of my road. I'll pull out and push down and in about a split second I suddenly get a burst of RPMs that go up to about 3k-3.5k range and then the throttling smooths out rapidly after that and the gears start shifting. It doesn't happen every time but it's that odd split second from pushing down a decent amount on the gas and then the sudden unexpected burst of power. My 2021 has about 45k on it, one previous owner who drove mostly highway miles on it over the past 2 years. Otherwise the thing is in great shape and I'm loving it (this is my first 4x4 truck coming from owning a series of sedans over the years). I'm seriously considering removing that horrible air dam though. I think about it a lot late at night lol.
Justin! I don't know how I missed this vid until now Dude, thank you SO much for this info!!! I have hated that aspect of my truck and I absolutely love the truck otherwise. Definitely don't understand why the Colorado... HA just as you say at 13:43. Ordering one soon. Thanks again, man!!

Great writeup but $200 is steep for what this does IMO. I have the 2.8L Duramax and I'd much rather put $200 towards a carb approved tune that gets me 52 more hp and 94 ftbls more torque and also resolves the throttle issue. I find that after driving my truck for for a while my foot is now sensitive enough to automatically modulate the throttle to mitigate this issue. Basically I do the same thing with my foot. A tune on the other hand will fix in a different and better way and with a lot more power and drivability. I can't speak to the V6 gasser. Perhaps it's good alternative for it. If you've got a Duramax checkout Duramax Tuner 50 state legal tune.

This is definitely a good replacement for a tune as far as the throttle sensitivity is concerned but I'm still looking at possibly getting a tune later down the line for added power, etc. As of right now I can tell you without a doubt, this is definitely needed!
I have a Soler 72/76 TB on my 17 along with Trifecta, cai, cat back. Great improvement in part throttle drivability. I had a intermittent hesitation when doing a rolling stop, that is totally eliminated. It was great from the time I bolted it on but even better after 500 miles. Worth the $$$.
@@madcratebuilder That's exactly what I want minus catback...don't believe that's legal around here. But I would love that setup. I had already found Pedal Commander before Soler. @@bagery Pedal Commander is a good unit, I had one for about a year, removed after installing the Trifecta. The Soler and new Windbooster look interesting.

I've used a bunch of different throttle controllers and they were all more or less the same. The features are all that really seems to separate them. This one was cheap and got the job done well. I still recommend this one over any of the other ones out there.
Update on my wind booster. It seems like I am the only person who has received a bad unit. Bummer! I have contacted my credit card company and have disputed the charges because I have not received any emails from them about return, replacement, or refund. Very very frustrating 😕
Hi finally got some feedback from windbooster. Customer service still stinks but they did end up sending me a new unit without me knowing. Go figure. I installed today, I'm taking a few days for to see what's going on. I will keep you updated
Another update of the wind booster. Very pleased with the unit does what is advertised.I am glad everything finally got straightened out.Very happy with the unit, still dialing it in and having fun doing so! 😀
Mine was just delivered today November 1st. Pluged it in per instruction. Immediately got a check ECU warning light , rough engine idle and my engine light came and my phone dinged and it was onstar texting a notification to make a appointment with chevy immediately. I emailed windbooster and waiting for a reply. In the meantime I am afraid to drive my truck 🚚
Will do. May take a few days. I am going to find out today why my engine light is on. When I installed the wind booster the truck immediately started to idle rough and check ECU light came on.

I have been emailing with them for the last few days and have not gotten anywhere!Customer service is really bad. After I return unit and get my money refunded (ha ha) I am hesitant to try again. That's a shame because I was looking forward to having a more responsive acceleration.
I ordered and installed a WindBooster on my ‘16 Colorado Z71. Was working great.. until today. The app said it needed a firmware update, so I did it. I’ve heard a few people having an issue what you’re gonna wanna do is contact wind booster and they’ve been sending out replacements.
I know this is old and such but does this for the the LT Colorado
Yes it does.
Do you have a video with the link to that pro clip and how it’s mounted?
So many different kinds.
Are you still using this? What are if any the pros and cons. I know a pro is better pedal response with no lag, any cons? What are your thoughts this or the Banks pedal monster? Thanks
I've used a bunch of different throttle controllers and they were all more or less the same. The features are all that really seems to separate them. This one was cheap and got the job done well. I still recommend this one over any of the other ones out there.
Soon as I let off my brake it starts moving forward I barely touch my gas it peels out more now since my back tires are getting bald
Anything you can do yourself to "delete" the 97 mph limiter??
Not without a custom tune unfortunately
Update on my wind booster. It seems like I am the only person who has received a bad unit. Bummer! I have contacted my credit card company and have disputed the charges because I have not received any emails from them about return, replacement, or refund. Very very frustrating 😕
That is very interesting, indeed! They are very quick to get back to everyone I've talked to. Which email are you using?
That replied after my 1st email. And after that nothing
Hi finally got some feedback from windbooster. Customer service still stinks but they did end up sending me a new unit without me knowing. Go figure.
I installed today, I'm taking a few days for to see what's going on. I will keep you updated
Definitely do!
Another update of the wind booster. Very pleased with the unit does what is advertised.I am glad everything finally got straightened out.Very happy with the unit, still dialing it in and having fun doing so! 😀
My 2017 doesn’t have this is. Soon as you barely touch the throttle it tries to break loose the tires. I bought it dec 2020 from a Toyota dealer
What company did you use for your Bed liner or is it from the factory?
It’s factory.
What is the cost
What phone holder do you recommend? And is this the PC07 module?
Proclip phone mount is the best one I've tested.
i kinda of like the lag , to mean it feels like it saves the trans from shifting to fast . and less strain on the motor.
Definitely none of those things. The exact same strain is there either way, the only difference is, the dead spot on the pedal is gone.
Hey Justin, does the app have to be open every time you drive the truck if you didn't install the small control panel? Just wondering
No. The device remembers last setting. Don’t even have to have Bluetooth on on your phone after initial setting.
The phone remembers you don’t even have to have it paired after the initial change if you don’t plan on ever changing it again.
Wow that's crazy. I've never seen this on any Colorado I installed these on. Try removing it and see if the issue goes away
,I have tried 3 times. I am thinking they sent me the wrong part? Meantime I am dealing with a engine light error
Let me know what they say. This is the first time I’ve heard of this happening and I’ve installed a bunch of these.
Will do. May take a few days. I am going to find out today why my engine light is on. When I installed the wind booster the truck immediately started to idle rough and check ECU light came on.
Update on my wind booster. Unit is defective. Trying to get ahold of somebody is next to impossible. I have been emailing with them for the last few days and have not gotten anywhere!Customer service is really bad. After I return unit and get my money refunded (ha ha) I am hesitant to try again. That's a shame because I was looking forward to having a more responsive acceleration.
What model is this? It’s not the same as your 2018 red one right?
It's the same for either truck.
in Economy mode will this add to your fuel mileage on long trips?
Yes, the easier you are on the pedal, the better your gas mileage will be and this forces you to be easy on the pedal.
I ordered and installed a WindBooster on my ‘16 Colorado Z71. Was working great.. until today. The app said it needed a firmware update, so I did it. My truck immediately went into “Reduced Engine Power” mode. I had to completely remove the device to be able to drive it! Has anyone else seen this?? Suggestions?
Wow, that's interesting. Did you try reinstalling it after the firmware update was complete?
Do we have to install the app? I'd rather just mount the small screen and not worry about app updates..
where did you find the pro clip for your phone?!?!?!
ProClip sent it to me but shortly afterwards changed their design. Unfortunately, this design doesn't exist anymore.
would this void a warranty?
No it would not.
@@HorsePowerObsessed very cool! Thanks
Im getting this
You definitely should.
So you said it’s Bluetooth, does that mean you are no longer able to stream music via Bluetooth to the car if you use the app
Nope. Still able to have my phone paired for that as well.
@@HorsePowerObsessed that’s great thank you!
@HorsePowerObsessed
Will this work with the Duramax as well or just the V6? And if it does, is it same WindBooster model or different one? Thank you
Yes it will work!
@@HorsePowerObsessed Grrrreat! Thank you! The diesel is lazy as it is, and the dead pedal won't help of course. I will give this a try!
Can this mod override the speed governor my 3.6 tops out at 98mph
No. You would need a tune for that.
we are picking up a 2022 colorado redline edition this coming thursday june 30th, 2wd, v6, will this throttle module work on it ?? it should,, i like your threshold , carbon , red colorado protectors too
Yes it definitely will! You’re gonna love the truck!
@@HorsePowerObsessed I love my 2016 Silverado 1500 z71 off road, but it's getting kinda long in the tooth,
Is it safe to use with a tune?
my 2016 silverado 1500 5.3 v8 has the lag,, it bugs the crap out of me
Great video Justin! Do they make one compatible with the C7? If so, will you be putting one in the ZR1 swapping out the prior controller from Soler Performance?
I'm working with them on that exact thing as we speak! 😁
@@HorsePowerObsessed Thanks Justin. I have a C7 and never got around to ordering the Soler Performance controller. If they have one for the C7, I'll install it without the display and use my phone. Thanks again for the great content!
You're very welcome! Thanks for watching!

Yes, I HIGHLY recommend it for the Z71 and ZR2.
It shows $130 for SHIPPING ... Am i seeing some thing or what am i doing wrong ???? That cant be correct .....????
Will this work with a base model/wt Colorado?
Yes it will.
Yeah, but how's it been while using cruise control?
I’ve noticed no difference in cruise control… 🤷♂️
What is a good product like this for a z06
I'm working with them now to see if there is one for the C7. Stay tuned.
Does this work with the diesel Z71?
Does this support the 2.5L 4 cylinder ?
Yes it does.
@@HorsePowerObsessed I’m 100% getting one 😁
nice vid. does econ mode give you, us any better mpg?
Probably, I never use it lol
@@HorsePowerObsessed i probably never will either.
🤣🤣
I ordered one how long does it take to for it to be shippedn
Shouldn't be too long. Maybe 2 weeks or so?
@@HorsePowerObsessed awesome! How is it still treating you? Pretty well?
Well it work with a c5? I love the pedal commander I have it in all my vehicles but they don't make one for a c5
It might. I'll ask and see!

@@windboosterwinsbooster5870 thank you so this well infact work on my 2001 c5 corvette ?
It basically removes torque management.
Did anyone have issues ordering from the link he provided? How long did it take to get it shipped? The link provides the product from a different country. I bought it but it has not even been shipped yet. It's just stuck in processing and there customer service is not helpful.
Interesting. I have sold quite a few of these from this link without any problems in the past. How long as it been?
@@HorsePowerObsessed it's been about 5 days and it still hasn't been processed. But if you say that the link and company is legit, then it must just be taking longer than expected.
Would this work on the 2019 LT
Yes it sure will. 👍
Why didn’t you go with trifecta tune?
This was cheaper and no impact on warranty. I don't have anything against trifecta and may still do it in the future.
