I literally took delivery of this exact truck today. I love everything about it! I had a Bronco before. This truck is everything that the Bronco should have been.
not a fan of the engine i feel like they could have given it a v6 but chevy truly knocked it out of the park with it being one or if NOT Their BEST looking truck they have ever made to date...also heard their are minor annoyances that customers have had to deal with pertaining to the 2023 models, hopefully they were able to fix them in the new 2024 models i would wait to buy a 2024 if u can.
2024 Colorado ZR2 Bison edition is my fav iteration.
It's the NICES truck I have seen in a while.
I have this same truck 2024. Its my dd. The interior is great. Love driving it, feels like it can do anything. Power is pretty good. Best truck out there mid size.
I know it's a person's opinion but honestly it sounded like someone winding up leaf blower. Also turbos traditionally ware out way quicker then regular injected motors just a fact and finally I know quite a few people that have Colorado and they loved them at first but within 4 or 5 years they aren't very happy they become money pits due to drivetrain issues. Which is ashame because it is a good looking vehicle.
*wear out not ware out…….otherwise I agree with your comment.
Great video. One of the most informative one I have seen so far. Just one small correction They are 33 inch like you mentioned not 32 inch like the graphic you put shows. The 32 in tires are on the Trailboss.
Again great video !!!!!
My apologies! I read online they were 33 inch tires than after I made the video and I was editing car and driver and road and track both said they were 32 inch tires so I took back my statement. Didn't know who to believe! Whoops!
Glad you enjoyed it! Thanks for the positive feedback!
@appleautos just thought I would let you know. I know how easily people are triggered online lol. I work for GM building the Silverado and Sierras. I also ordered my ZR2 in November. Hoping to have it by my birthday this Summer. 😁😁😁
@@captaincrypto9660 That will be a great birthday present for you! Enjoy it!
I have had my GMC canyon since march and love everything about this truck, and you will love it too.@@captaincrypto9660
5:28, homeboy said the bison has a "hoop" on the front bumper 😂. That'd be what is referred to as a Bull bar my friend.
They really are a good looking truck! I’m a Silverado guy but I’m really considering one of these. The price of them is good on paper but when you look at the discounts and better interest rates in the 1500 models they basically become the same price which is frustrating. For that reason I will likely be buying another Silverado. 👍🏻
I have the trailboss. Love it total beast. Lifetime engine warranty too.
Me too. Love it. But they gave me a 20 year /200,000 warranty. Got it for $39,500 not bad in my opinion
The whizzing window fan sound of the exhaust sounds epic. pin a few baseball cards to hit the wheel spokes that would amp the sound up to insane levels.
turbosz
great review, i like the truck
Great presentation and unbiased. I'll take the Colorado with a discount since you locked yourself in and had to crawl out all over the interior.
I didn’t leave a mark🤞🏼
I'm glad you made it out of the car alive...I'm thinking of trading in my Hellcat for this thing right about now...I need a cool daily vs only warm days car...
I kind of wanted a Colorado but for now got a Chevy Silverado Texas addition without turbo but kind of would like to add turbo to it.
It's outrageous that the Silverado sometimes is only $1,200 more than the Colorado. The Colorado and Canyon are obscenely overpriced. I've seen a Canyon priced at $63,000 in my state!
I agree, the price isn’t cool though!
I have a 2023 and it has been in the shop for over three weeks.
Why what happened to it?
Went to a Chevy dealer today to look at one, agreed on a price till they added $1999 for LoJack, were they f*ckin’ kidding me? I walked out laughing
Good for you walking out, dealers are out of control with their add ons they're literally 200% profit for them. Consumers need to walk out on any add ons and stop paying MSRP and even over that
I like it looks cool with two exhausts right in the back
I went to a Chevy dealer a couple of days ago and they have none on the lots and if you order one they tack on a huge dealer markup. I'm just going to wait for the Tacoma or maybe the new Ranger.
Ours is in stock and available under MSRP! We also won’t do a markup on order outs. We work with people out of state as well if you’re still interested in pursuing a Colorado!
Try a different dealer. I ordered mine with zero markup.
You’ll pay more for a basic TRD Tacoma than a bad azz ZR2 😂 less power and torque too outta their turbo 4, you’ll have to buy a Raptor Ranger for 65k to even get a more powerful truck, cause the other Rangers don’t even come close to a ZR2 Colorado!
@@jimmycline4778
They don’t make the ranger tremor anymore
Your going to crap when you go to Toyota if you find one they are marked up something AWFUL.
Apparenlty, even the manual sliding back window is AWESOME! 😂
Nice and a better price than here in Hawaii.. we’re the weather is bone chilling 82 degrees..😊 🤙🏾
I wish
This is the best looking truck on the market!
Great video boys a lot of info, thanks for sharing 👍👍👍👍👍
Sounds like a leaf blower with a turbo.
I kind of like how turbos cut engine noise. My GTI is practically silent.
It will be really quiet in about 50k miles 😂
It's 4 bangers you freaking idiots!
@@midlifecrisis7888yeah thats why me and my whole family own VW and drive them daily with no issues
@@Seabass1206 I always laugh at people who keep saying I was foolish to buy a VW. They claimed that if I had bought a Toyota (they will always blindly shout "BUY TOYOTA, TOYOTA, TOYOTA!!) I wouldn't "have problems." Nope. Wrong. While my sister-in-law had all kinds of issues with her Honda Civic and I heard Toyota in the news for the umpteen millionth time for anoooother recall, my VW happily rolled past 45,000 miles and had only one minor recall, which was to fix a sticky backup camera (under warranty). Other than that, NO turbo issues, NO engine issues, nothing. Been driving VW since 2015 without any problems that would have put it in the repair shop. Oh, and despite having a slightly heavy right foot, I've averaged 27-29 mpg regardless of weather or driving conditions. And to top it off, the car doesn't require "premium" to get decent performance. It accelerates so hard I can feel my face being squashed when I redline it. LOL.
Awesome truck, great review keep working on~
Great video! Thank you! 👍
I have a z71. I keep smelling antifreeze. Transmission be jerking and shifting rough. Has 8k miles on it
Yes it is i got one in 17 now getting a new one 24.no troubles absolutely love it.and ive had them all toy can't even compare.only one to give it a run is ford ranger raptor.and the diesel thats just stupid want a diesal buy a tractor or big truck..not gonna pull a livestock trailer with a midsized any was.
I don’t understand how some people say it stiff and some people say the ride is very soft to take any little bump or speed bump no problem. Don’t even notice it. Some people even say the ride is floaty.
Let's be honest. Any 4x4 truck that's anything more than a commute vehicle needs to have a big v6 or a small v8
I spent a week in a 2.7L Silverado. That engine blows the 5.3L V8 out of the water, and makes the previous V6 feel like a joke.
@Holden-McGroin turbo gas engines have way more wear and tear and requires maintenance more often. They will not last as long as a v8 or naturally aspirated v6.
@@DrewVerdinDon’t see what that has to do with your comment, but either way, how about a gas engine built like a diesel? The 2.7 has a forged bottom end, turbo-centric oiling system, and an electric cooling system that operates independently of other engine functions.
@@Holden-McGroinyea no it doesnt dude. that engine is overworking from strain. its a good lease truck but not a good reliable truck thatll last over 100k. the v8 has way more power
How is it “overworking from strain?” It’s built like a diesel and running similar boost. Is a Cummins “overworking from strain?” And while the 5.3 has about 45 more hp, it has about 50 less lb-ft torque. The 2.7 also has a superior torque curve which comes in at much lower rpm.
Oh man. The late night jealousy in moms basement is strong with these guys. 7 months 23 Canyon Denali it has been great here. Fird and Taco guys jealous. Smh
Anybody actually know if theyre gonna fix the issue with the auto emergency braking and in a somewhat timely fashion? Its been almost a month on stop sale and I'd like to actually drive one
i wish it was still a v6
I wish GM built an updated, redesigned version of the Buick 215 engine. It was a V8 that was so reliable that it was used in the legendary Land Rover Defender for some time. A lot of those Land Rovers are still running even though they're 40 years old!!
PS: the Buick 215 was so widely used that a reporter called it "A V8 that the world runs on." He wasn't wrong about that!
After owning Tacomas And switched to this platform, but GMC AT4X. The new Tacoma is junk , plastic…plastic, plastic, in and out. It is having tons of issues already. It is also beyond overpriced for what it is so, NTY. To each their own. Love this vehicle and look up the reports of reliability , recalls, and issues the past ten years…shocker: the GM twins have proven more reliable than the Taco…so there’s that. Thanks for the video!
I've seen Tacomas going for a ludicrous $59K in my state! I wouldn't pay that much for a Tacoma, no way...
GM’s will be in the junk yard in 15 years while Toyota’s last for generations. Thats the difference..
@ welp, unfortunately, then why are Tacomas and Tundras having major engine and transmission failures now? Sad really. I have always like them. New gen just isn’t the same it seems.
Boo to the 4 cylinder turbo.
BRO THE ENGINE IS AMAZING
You underestimate these engines. These are not your grandfather's 4 cylinders. I've driven turbo 4s for 10 years with MINI, BMW and VW and they are reliable AND powerful. I step on the gas and the vehicle pounces like an angry lion. Land Rover 110s in Australia have run on turbo 4 cylinders in the outback for years. And a LR110 is slightly bigger than a GMC Yukon 4 door.
if it had the 2.8 Duramax I'd feel much more confident of longevity
What is the MSRP on this ZR2 you showed us , couldn't make out if you said 50K or 60K
Around $50,000
It's such a good-looking truck it had me looking at GMC and Chevy for the first time in 15 years. Unfortunately the reviews show that the quality at Chevy has not changed. Thats ridiculous considering the price.
I wanted something that I could tow my 5th wheel trailer but all the 2500 they seem to want $1,500.00 payments. Also most being a Dermax diesel which I don't like no more. I had one and it broke down within weeks after I bought it. It broke down twice once right after I had it fixed.
$500 off!!!!! Big savings 😮
Most dealers sell over sticker 😉
Looks like I can retire in the next 100 yrs)
It actually is huge, especially, since you can’t walk onto a lot and see one of these or a Colorado
@@appleautosNOT TRUE… im getting $3500 off sticker
@@DefinitelyNotYouThankGod We do the same if not more than that now as well :) this was posted 7 months ago.
Too bad the gas mileage totally sucks on this and the Colorado
Bro i 30+mph on the highway
Do they make a flow master to make it sound mean??
Yeah, but you gotta pay more than $49K more. It's totally worth it
Been on the fence about getting this vehicle. Went on a couple Colorado Forums. Seems people are having proble with their headlighs fluckering. I have. 2005 gmc canyon z71 . Had plenty of electrical ( gremlins ) problems
Last evening im out and up behind me cones a new Colorado..with the headlights flickering. WTF GM ??? 20 years later and you STILL have electrical ISSUES?? I dont care who you paid off for the " truck of the year " award.
Pretty sure that is the start and stop lights automatic when you come to a stop and the vehicle shuts off and you hit the gas and it comes back on
Is this truck still available?
It has sold since this video was put up
The “selecting the lights from a menu on the screen” is so ridiculous. What happens when your screen takes a dump at night? I just don’t trust the 2.7 either. I had an ‘18 with the 3.6 and they should have never gotten rid of it.
ZR2 and FORD Ranger raptor are really only ones to talk about.put the toy back in the toy box.love my zr2 bout it new 7 years ago an love it still..
It’s a real nice truck but not for 50k.lower to 40k and they couldn’t keep them on the lots!
no lower them to 34k
Looks great but 50k for a mid size truck is ridiculous but people do it if it makes them happy kiddos. But I will take a 3/4-1ton for less money that can tow and get things done and cost less.
How is the legroom for the driver and width of driver's seat?
based on chevy's D&I initiatives, no man will fit in this truck anymore.
@@FriarPop I think you meant DEI. Yeah, that beer kicked in when you made that comment
@@TicklerDude No, There is a difference between D&I and DEI, one has equity and if that was the case we would all fit.
I all excited until you mention 4 cylinder turbo, scroll to next video
Drive one.
They all have 4. Blame climate change fools.
Love the review...also love that you left the child lock part lol! Easily could happen to anyone.
Yea till your having electrical problems Like mine
Looks like my 2023 Tacoma Off Road only more $$$$$ and I’ve got v6 n absolutely ❤it💯is a beautiful truck not a fan of the engine.
How much? Used Raptor territory?
Does no one look at reliability score? Chevy scores what third for reliability... Toyota, buick, chevy. Toyota sells way more, that is why there are still a lot on the road. When you sell more, a percentage are going ro remain around, colorados did not sell as much but similar percentage still on the road. People and their childish brand loyalty... 🙄
50K my arse. This truck stock as a zr2 starts at 60K+ unless you get a bare bones no options AT ALL truck, fully optioned + licensing you are are looking at 70-73k USD currently. Only a semi stock or a WT non zr2 can be bought for 50k.
Optioning the zr2 with technology, Bose, and cameras which is exactly how I would do it, it's $52k delivered... So what are you talking about?
A well optioned trail boss the way I would want it is like $42,500, so what are you talking about?
@@heroofharo not a 23 on up its not, base price was 58k for a zr2 trail boss. We aren't talking about a z71.
@@Ev3rM0r3 I'm looking at loads of zr2s right around 50k. Are you Canadian? Or are you looking at 🚐 n editions?

great video.
A small V8 option would be awesome.
Is that an old train station you’re filming in front of?
Yes it is
You forgot the best feature. The engineered and built in planned engine explosion at 100k
The exterior of this truck is amazing but unfortunately the interior color of the gray and yellow stitching is absolutely ridiculous, I don’t know why they did that especially if your going for the Black out look. Very disappointed there is no option for black interior.
They're all on the turbo bandwagon. it just doesn't sound like a truck and those turbos have to be babied to make them last. Any aggressive driving will wear them out and likely right after the warrantys gone. I predict 5 yrs from now the turbo thing will be fading out.
The turbo engines are to pass emissions while maintaining power expectations of the consumer. You will have two options in the near future: turbo or electric.
Diesel engines have turbos, I don’t think to pass emissions… my Caterpillar backhoe has a turbo. When I road it the fucker eats fuel.
@@adamrepetowski4573not exactly a like for like comparison bud.
@@heroofharocool bud.
I don’t trust turbo motors. When they hold up like naturally aspirated motors, I’ll consider them. Til then, I’ll stick with my Nissan Frontier
Love the fact Nissan is sticking with the v6
500 Off WOW I want that super deal lol
On one hand, we have UA-cam videos such as this claiming the AMAZING specs and features of the vehicle and then in just a short period of time, we’ll have all the mechanic and customer videos showing off its many faults and massive (and typical) GM issues, yet people will still buy them and then complain after that they terrible vehicles…😂 it’s quite a hilarious cycle to watch….
GM just had a huge recall on the 2.7L apparently some of them had the wrong fuel injectors installed. That and the failed update on the computer are the only issues I've heard about so far. Didn't like hearing about the injectors, thats bad quality control.
As an owner of said truck, this thing is baller
It's going to blow up if you keep revving it like that LMBO 😂 trust me, that doesn't sound good at all
I'm from Brazil, I love this car, but there aren't any for sale here in Brazil, they sell us a lot of rubbish here.
Trust me they sell us a bunch of trash here to so you all aren't missing much
Way too expensive
Nice truck, too bad it's a 4 cylinder and not available in manual transmission. Nissan Frontier has a V6, but no manual either.
The ranger raptor will have a v6 only with an auto as well. The Tacoma is the only manual left however only a 4 cyl.
I just took delivery on my z02 . That 2.7 has more punch than my old 5.3 in a Sierra .
@@appleautos
Gladiator is still there as well
I’ll buy one when you can show me one that lasted 10 years without drivetrain failure. That’s why Toyota will remain on top.
Colorado is more reliable than the Tacoma. Check repairpal and NHTSA. Tacoma has more than double the recalls from 2016-2023. 2023 is the first year for the new Colorado with zero recalls. 2023 is the final year for the "continuously improved" old Tacoma with 2 recalls.
The ZR2 is the best bang for your buck off-roader with the lockers, auto 4wd, sliders, off road worthy tires, etc. Not to mention, it's the best looking midsize truck now inside and out now (Tacoma was).
Sorry to go against what we all grew up hearing, but this is not your father's Toyota pickup
Viva la Mexico!
New Canyons come with lifetime powertrain warranty. So that should ease ur mind some
LOL You do know that the new 2024 Tacomas have unproven all new turbo 4 banger and drivetrain? What I hated about my 2022 Tacoma that I traded in for my new 2023 Colorado Trail Boss was the composite bed or plastic bed, after 7 to 10 years the bolts and mounting hardware rust out and bed detaches from the frame!
Biggest clown comment on YT. How can you possibly know that a Tacoma will be more reliable than this NEW Colorado?
The answer is that you do not know. You’re speculating & projecting a bias. Go buy Japanese if you want … stop wasting everyone’s time with your anti-American propaganda against our products.
This so-called truck sounds like my past VW golf R. Plus it has basically the same readings with power and torque from a V 4 turbo engine.
Nice looking truck for sure! But just too small for me
What about the transmission and head gasket problems the GM has
No extended cab/6ft bed means no sale for many. Not everyone wants a truck with a 3 ft bed.
Terrible MPG!
Too short of a bed, it's a toy with a bed
They could at least offer two bed size options. The short bed does have an advantage: You can garage it, handy if you live in a bad neighborhood. Car burglaries are common where I live. My dad's Dodge truck was broken into and they stole some stuff from it. And a neighbor down the street had his Yukon burglarized. Neither vehicle can fit in the garage. I measured it and a Chevy Colorado (and its cousin the Canyon) will fit in the garage with the door shut. So there are some pros to having a short truck bed. And the Colorado is aimed at people who want a small truck. If bed space is an issue, that's what the Silverado is for...
The auto "all window up" would be a very bad idea...ha.
Turbos wear out quicker. Just physics. - Scotty Kilmer
Yeah, all the turbo diesel trucks are just shitting out all over the roads. 🙄
All turbos are not the same.
As long as you don't have an absolutely catastrophic problem that sends metal back into the intake, it's not that big of a deal. A turbo replacement will run me $1100 at my local mechanic on my ford maverick. At the mileage it's likely to go if you use quality oil and change it regularly? That's not the end of the world
Bro is reviewing a ZR2 AND WORRIED ABOUT RUNNING BOARDS!?!?!? 🤦🏼♂️

Holy no leg room and baby 4cyl engine for that price.
Too much $$$$$$$$$ for a 4 cyl. truck.

Same for the Tacoma.
Everything costs “too much money,” so what’s the alternative to an expensive “4 cylinder?”
It's a turbo.. Who cares how many cylinders it has? Still makes great power
I can take the roof and doors off my gladiator. It also has the best aftermarket options of any truck out there. Definitely cooler than the Colorado.

Only time will tell.
Resale, yes. Dependability/Reliability, no.

It does not have paddleshifts and the price is too expensive.
in that price range rather go for tacoma
Better bring more money.
You won’t think that after you own this for 10 too 15 years from now and you’re computer system screen fails and can’t run the truck
I think that’s when it’s time for a new truck anyway.
Lol wow a whole $500 off msrp 😂
I own the Colorado Trail Boss and it's a glitchy Piece of shit. I regret buying it everyday. The "upgraded" infotainment system is chuck full of glitches. This is just what I've had issues with in the Ling 7 months I've owned mine.
