Lauda, Prost and Senna all on the podium. That's a sight to see!
Also in the portuguese grand prix
It happened in Portugal too? Cool! Only that time the winner was Ayrton Senna
@@yoville73 No, 1984 Portuguese GP, season finale. 1-Prost 2-Lauda 3-Senna
Who?
@@jean-francoispilote5751 He's talking about the 1985 Portuguese GP. First Senna's win.
1:01 Niki casually taking his unique grass line
I see where the esport drivers took the inspiration from.
When i see he passing through the grass... I said whaaat!?? Haha
What a podium, Lauda, Prost and Senna. Just the ten championships between them!
Michael Schumacher has 7 alone!
@@worksahara3127 You should know the difference between super drivers and number of titles. Taking your "knowledge", Shumacher is less than Alonso and Hamilton. So it doesn't make any sense. See it.
Piquet has been stop
@@moisessimoes298 haha Schumacher Hamilton goes brrr
@@worksahara3127 what a mug!!
2:00 *explosion*
Rosberg: IS MY RACE OVER?!
The Honda on the Williams start having a lot of bumps...Rosberg had a really struggling year and not by his fault...
His car producing less smoke than him
Like father like son...
One of the greatest victories of Niki’s career he was a true champion and a true legend RIP Niki
5:32 only Alan Prost who living from these three legend. That is so sad.😔😔
R.I.P Niki, you name will be forever immortalized among one of the greatest drivers formula 1 has ever seen.
What a beautiful and challenging circuit the old Zandvoort was. Glad it's back but it's a shame it had to change.
What a podium, Lauda, Prost and Senna 😯
Michael Schumacher is above all.
We'll never know but being agressive back then was something different
@@worksahara3127 oh yeah, thanks for reminding us. Have you seen they, even Shummy, fight each other on the track in the same conditions ? Of course not. You'll maybe have some problems about Hamilton's 7 or 8th titles. It'll be unnecessary saying Hamilton is above Shumacher. Check it out.
Just look at that podium 😍
So lucky to not have another Riccardo Palleti incident at the start. Terrifying watching everyone weave around Piquet.
0:01 that horrible feeling when you stall the car from pole position xD
Oof
It's miracle that no one run into him.
@Baran Tuna which race
@@asdsmil4890 I think he means the game. In the game everyone has more grip than you while starting. Only if you play against the ai. You can hit the gas directly after the lamps turned green but after that you have to fight against the ai to defend your first place until you passed the first corner...
Even in 2020 most of the cars r simply too unreliable notably back of the pack cars always start and parked at almost every race just like the 1980s
4:19 - the place where Roger Williamson had died 12 years earlier.
The pitlane is just insane to see. That people can just walk to the car doing it’s pitstop
No speed limit as well 😅
The fact that we are now racing there 36 years later is incredible to think about. That podium will be so different Sunday.
totally different track . No way to compare . As same goes for the cars .
I wish we could hear more of James talking about Niki.
Lauda, Prost, Senna
Might not be the most championship on the podium, but definitely one of the most talented.
THE most talented. The next best podium is probably Schumacher-Alonso-Räikönnen which happened 5 times between 2005-2012. After Schumi retired you can replace him with Hamilton or Vettel but that still doesn't match the trio that finished on podium here and in Portugal 1984.
2023 Canada podium with with Verstappen, Alonso and Hamilton with 11 WDC was not bad
@@Adyman182ppp
What a great era for F1. Very much missed
That podium though!
Legends all of them 🙌
A win for Niki Lauda in his final year in F1, and in this circuit’s final year
What legendary drivers on podium! Wow! It's great to see!
I love you Niki. Great champion in two different F1 eras. 70s and 80s.
2 uploads within an hour? We love you F1!!!
I recall seeing this live on TV, Lauda won only because of Prost's slow pit stop. Lauda indicated he would not let Prost by so he got his final GP victory. Note the strong performance from Marc Surer who was surely under-rated.
Even the pitlane was scary back then.
You misspelled "exciting". They should do away again with speed limits.
@@TheUrbanEpicure its all exciting until a pitcrew's limb goes flying off his body because a car speeding down the pitlane at 100 kmph hit him.
@@AAMIRKHAN-yt1el Nope, still exciting then. Occupational risk. Stay out of the kitchen if you can't handle the risk.
Love this old races🤩🤩
A classic winner that never fade even after 35 years
Honestly the coolest podium on one of the coolest tracks. Doesn't get better than having Lauda, Prost and Senna on the podium. Legends, every single one of them. We miss you Niki!
Great era, great race and a great commentary from the one who knows what he is talking about (Hunt, of course)
To think that Lauda, Prost, Senna, Piquet, Rosberg and brabham were all on the grid at the same time is insane
Brabham as a team you mean
Well, let's see ... we have Lauda, Prost, Senna, Mansell, Rosberg, Piquet ... oh yeah, I remember, it was 1985. Time flies.
Could that podium have been any more iconic?
Lauda, Prost, Senna
Bruno Danese I think it actually could:
Lauda+Prost+Senna = 10 titles
Hamilton+Vettel+Raikkönen = 11 titles
@@TheColinChapman
Number of titles does not surpass iconic.
3 legends on one podium...
I love seeing vintage footage highlights!!!!
WHEN F1 UPLOADS :
ME : I'M SPEED!!
real funny
I remember this. I used to watch it with my old man.
3 legend in the podium.
Thanks for uploading this, what an intense race ❤️
Podium of Champions : Lauda, Prost, Senna.
Merci Niki.
1:04 some things never change huh
Some say that, if you won a ticket for F1 in 1985, you got to watch the race in the pitlane. Apparently.
Niki Lauda was my hero growing up, I have an autographed copy of his book. this was Lauda's last win. Pass the torch.
Lauda Prost Senna... my God what a podium
Great race. Even at what was the last Dutch Grand Prix, and the last of Niki Lauda's wins.
Historical podium!
What a podium, pure Legends of motorsport
When you realised we are only left with Alain Prost among us from the Top 3 on the podium that day.
AMONG US
@@carsonneal Amogus
I always think that they'd gotten safety measures in check already by the 80's but going off track here at high speed seems like a very bad accident for both drivers and spectators
Ten titles on that podium..... no words...
A legend
5:33 May this be my new wallpaper.
that is one hell of a podium
Morturiom agreed
@@morturiom9651 big podiums as always for Lauda.
that pitlane gives me claustrophobia
I miss the Marlboro Logo that was a nice logo
I'm waiting for the comments like:"Good old times, where the cars didn't sound like vacuum cleaners"
On the bright side, 2020 allowed us to watch the good old vintage highlights instead of the annoying David Croft exaggeratedly commentated, nobody cares drama between drivers and as you mentioned, vacuum cleaner race highlights.
So Thats a Race with actual highligts
Prost was in a title fight with Alboreto's Ferrari that year and Lauda was nowhere however after this race Prost said he was happy for Niki and didn't make any issue of not being let through by his teammate for the sake of the championship. You will never see that kind of sportsmanship and respect between drivers again when the stakes are that high.
Prost said to Lauda "You put up a hard fight" Of Course said Niki You don't want it said that World champion Prost had to rely on Lauda for help. But you needn't worry he added. If it gets really tight later on I will be all right with you. At that Prost was his normal pleasant self again.
i always think lauda should have let team-mate prost through (especially as prost didn't back team-mate lauda into the field in the last 1984 race as a way to become world champion that way like hamilton tried to do with team-mate rosberg in 2016) - the 1985 title fight at this point was prost v de angelis (lotus) v alboreto - and by the time it got to brands hatch (3 races left) prost could afford to hang back but di angelis had to fight furiously at the front (and collided with rosberg which dropped him far back) - and i think alboreto was already out of the title race by that point.
This was 12 months before i was born in the Netherlands.
I was so looking forward to Zandvoort this year, but because of this Lockdown i wont be going back to The Netherlands this year after all..
Beautiful times, crowded pit lane, lots of technical failures...
What a podium!!
10 titoli mondiali in 70 anni di storia concentrati tutti di un botto...
There's more excitement and character in this 5 minute summary of one Grand Prix than there is in an entire F1 season these days.

The greatest is yet to come. The legendary Michael Schumacher.
Not the greatest
If Senna had remained at McLaren, Prost would have stayed at Williams and the championship in 1994 been that much closer.
Wow this is great
No spoilers please. Got the race recorded to watch later
Love your content FORMULA 1, you inspired me to start my own youtube channel.
Thank you for motivation.
Teo Fabi was severely underrated
Who else got recommended this ahead of the 2022 Race?
Oh the first race I see that is in my country

What a race the 2 Mc fight for the win & Senna climb the podium this 3 contenders are Super history driver

With the cars smoking so much, it's only natural so many of them wore cigarette branding!
I also liked the fact that flames came out of the exhaust when they changed gears.
@@jameshogan6142 This still happens in prototype and GT racing (WEC, IMSA etc.)

These cars were beautiful; the classic f1 look. Somehow the modern ones just don't look right . They look busy ,over designed even if it brings better results.
Same as usual, Hard to Overtake

What a podium that is.
These races should be immortalised so we can enjoy Senna 1000 years from now. Release the full races, for free.

Why did the Dutch Grand Prix get scrapped after 1985?
The company who owned the track on that time went bankroupt
