Has there been a more decorated podium for one single race:
1-Prost, 2-Lauda, 3-Senna
1993 Spanish Grand Prix*
1. Prost 2. Senna 3. Schumacher
@@Jamo_7811 I think Verstappen-Hamilton-Alonso at Australia 23 is the highest since verstappen now has two titles
valencia 2012,
1. fernando
2. kimi
3. michael
@@nabell2032 In 2012, we have two different decorate podium: Fernando-Kimi-Schumi at Valencia and Lewis-Seb-Fernando at Austin, Texas.
@@AreebMAdil The 2023 Canadian Grand Prix is even more better for me because that's featuring Adrian Newey.
Niki Lauda still remains one of the drivers who 'define' Formula One. His honourable way of fighting and sheer talent, as well as attitude to racing. Rest In Peace Niki.
Prost and Lauda complement each other very well. Hardly was ever a stronger line-up in F1, only matched, never surpassed.
Race highlights from extended highlights lol
Haha...
Do the Portuguese gp the year after that. Ayrton Sennas first victory in f1 under wet conditions. Superb
Can we appreciate that Senna came 3rd in a Toleman?
Of course. I saw it yesterday
I mean he did finish second at Monaco the same year in a Toleman in wet conditions...
@@ManasGangwar That was different. The wet were scary those years. More dangerous than te last few years. Here he was in the dry , when the car was on it's actual potential. So with a absolutely dog of a car , to come 3rd is crazy
@@sh33pyyy Don't forget that it is all equal conditions for every driver on the grid. Senna had to keep his inferior Toleman on track while having to drive fast without overcooking it.
@@sh33pyyy While Senna was brilliant, the 1984 Toleman wasn't the worst car on the grid. Johansson ran steadily mid-pack all race and finished fourth in the Toleman earlier at Monza. But yeah, the Toleman had no business being that far up the grid. I think Johansson's pace, albeit it was only his third or fourth race in the car, showed the true speed of the car a bit more.
These old tracks had so much more character with their high curbs. I understand safety is very important, but modern races aren’t as enjoyable to watch I think because there isn’t that sense of danger. These guys were on the limit with cars that were very hard to handle and a track that was unforgiving
Portuguese Grand Prix should be on the calendar from next year I think
On which track?
Estoril? That's Barcelona but even worse.
Algarve? Absolutely stunning track, but probably rather horrible for racing
Die Legende Portimao
Its this year!!
Your prayers have been answered, but you just got the year wrong.
@@henriquecarvalho1685 NO MORE ESTORIL.
80's is the greatest decade in history.
At 5:05 you can see Piquet celebrating besides Lauda, they were truly great friends.
Yes, and former team-mates at Brabham 1979.
Seeing senna finishing 3rd in both two races show how good he is
Its so sad that only Prost who living now from the first three driver of this race.😔
Lauda died of old age, we shouldn't be sad for that, it's the natural way of things and he lived a long and very interesting life (even considering the horrible accident), now Senna... That's quite sad indeed.
Poor Prost. At th time it seemed he'd never win the title. He came so close in 82, 83 and here.
4x champion. Salut Alain.
But later Prost was very lucky to win the title in 1986.
@@user-pn5ht8yt2pNo he wasn't. He had worse luck than the two Williams (2 mechanical DNFs, 1 luck DNF, 1 mechanical DSQ, Vs 3 mechanical DNFs for both Williams), as well as a worse car.
It's just that everyone only remembers Mansell's blowout because it was so dramatic. They don't remember Prost's DNF in Brazil or Hungary, or his breakdown on the grid in Italy that resulted in a DSQ, or both Mclarens running out of fuel in Germany because the team messed up, or the fact that Prost actually got a puncture and had to put in Adelaide too.
Prost's 1986 win wasn't lucky. It was one of the best performances in F1 history
yes prost was lucky in adelaide 1986. i did not mean it was not deserved and i did not count all the mechanical failures before that day. but given all what had happened during 1986, prost's chances in adelaide were very limited and he could not expect to win the title. so, he was lucky in the end.
Portimão Circuit awaits the return of the Portuguese GP!! Please come back
Not At All If Malaysia Or South Africa Can Be Comeback One Day Later.
Niki Lauda was an incredibly brave, gutsy and skillfull driver who will always be remembered for his heroic comeback from his terrible crash at the Nurburgring in 76. To add two more F1 titles after that speaks volumes for the man. A true champion driver who sits high in the pantheon of greats.
Bring back the Portuguese grand prix
They sure did, didn't they ;)
BOOMSHAKALAKA! Your wish has been granted!
Not At All If Malaysia Or South Africa Can Be Comeback One Day Later.
I love how the 1984 Mclaren livery is basically a pack of Malboro cigarettes
Well it was their main sponsor from 1974 to 1996 so go figure...
@@gringostarr69 those years, tobacco companys ruled... even in 500's bikes...
@@nyhcbd In every category of motorsport :)
Some people were saying by this time that Prost was a choker ... He'd lost in 1983 by 2 points, lost in 1984 by half a point.
Though I'm not sure how winning the race is choking. He did all that was possible. The cards just fell Niki Lauda's way that day.
Alain Prost would have his day though.
Bring back the Portuguese GP!!!
Algarve
F1 today is way too politically correct for Estoril my friend. Remember, they almost banned Monza. All they care is money, money & money. They are dangerous for the sport. Haven't understood that yet?
It’s back now
azwris this comment didn’t age well
Not At All If Malaysia Or South Africa Can Be Comeback One Day Later.
For Christ's sake, bring back the Estoril track !!!
I prefer Algarve than outdated Estoril
Both are way better than Paul ricard
Algarve can race in F1, It was confirmed three months ago
Back when tobacco advertisement was legal...
Damn those liveries look SWEEETT
Pretty hypocritical that the PC crowd banned tobacco ads but keep up sponsors like Johnny Walker and Red Bull, eh?
@@HighFlyingOwlOfMinerva Same in other sports, e.g. snooker where they banned cigarette advertisers and now sponsorship is dominated by gambling companies - what's worse, having a cigarette, or losing all your money on gambling? I know what I think the answer is.
Please F1 bring the Portuguese GP back 🙏🏾🙏🏾
Not At All If Malaysia Or South Africa Can Be Comeback One Day Later.
Niki was a cool man he knew what he was doing and he knew what he was capable of his skill was outstanding and his natural talent was uncanny he will be missed
Niki Lauda was just outside the top 10 at the beginning of the race, to finish 2nd and the WC is just incredible drive from him.
Bring back the Portuguese GP

Not At All If Malaysia Or South Africa Can Be Comeback One Day Later.
1:21 is a really good shot to see the difference in rear wing and angles of attack. The McLaren had far more wing on it but had the power to go past.
That was the benefit of having a power advantage. It's a double-whammy of gains, easier on the tyres too, so you gain there also.
Dont forget it was the best year of the TAG Porsche engine
The sheer talent of Lauda is badly underestimated. The man took a title from Prost cleanly with diminished skills from his 1970s prime!!
Prost had 4 or 5 mechanical failures though.
@@Undivided_X true.
@@Undivided_X Lauda had also 4 mechanical failures in 1984: Rio, Zolder, Imola, Detroit. Prost made one big mistake in Austria when he crashed the car slipping on oil. And he would never have won the Monaco GP had the race not been stopped by Jacky Ickx.
27 starters damn. Wish we had that many starting a race today!
Very few of them were able to score points or even finish the race.
Only 6 finishers gained points
What a soundddddddddddd this is the real V6 turbo, not the shit of today

Great Comeback from burning men Niki that close pact hope to get the title in a 1-2 finish
I wanna see the ‘76 Swedish GP With the Tyrell P34 Win!
Simon We can only see races as early as 1981
I remember this was the only time the crowd cheered (I was there, I remember) when Mansell abandoned, in Portugal many became Mansell fans during his career, but this ONE time he was not known and Mansell abandoning let Lauda win title, and portuguese were 100 times more fan of Lauda than Prost, lol. Sorry Mansell for this one, but we just didn't want Prost to win :D :D. By the way, Mansell deserved 3 championships, he was utterly struck by bad luck and got only one. One of the great all time drivers.
Love your content FORMULA 1, you inspired me to start my own youtube channel.
Thank you for motivation.
Please keep doing these even after quarantine

F1 at Algarve would be insane with all the elevation changes😍😍
Post, lauda and senna on the podium. About the most talent as you could get
How foolish of me, I almost forgot to include Nigel Mansell on that list of World Champion drivers. Ah well, he was in the prime of his career, deserved to be a champion more than once.
The engines are so loud i can't hear the commentary!
Sorry, I'm not sure what you just said. The engines are so loud I can't hear your commentary.
Legendary unluck of Nigel Mansell
RIP Niki
1984 is Lauda's GOLDEN ERA.
Rest in peace niki lauda 1949-2019
Ahh yeah the old f1 cars without Halo 😌😌
Was the whole race not shared this time? Or did I miss it before they made it private?
