  • We at Goodwood love to see racing cars do what they were meant to do. Race. And sometimes racing means you go to the limit, and a little bit over it. We hate when cars crash, but to see the best drivers in the world dancing cars inches from each other on the absolute limit? That might be the best thing around.

      #88 E-jag a 'friendly' push from behind, ensuring Minassi wet pants.
      Wilmott's Bizzarrini just hurts. But it's more due to the Bizzarrini 5300 GT being my all time #1 super car able to doing races (= extra soul - you drive to the circuit in your fantastic rumbling beauty of a carrr - win races there - drive home again in your winner car - that's the world I lost/was too young to sense by the golden ages) is situated very deep in my heart. @@stenovitz I can see where you're going there. I love more variety in the RAC TT grid, hence I was always devastated by the lack of Ferraris there in recent years. Now, the Bizzarini of the Jordans is promising to be one of the variety there...

    Its great to see these amazing machines are still sent just as hard as they were back then. Doing what they were designed to do and not sat in some museum doing nothing but looked at. I can look at it, hear it and watch it run while flying round the track! ❤

    I remember Tom Butterfield as a wee lad, his Dad the rather charming, successful and nice Mr Richard Butterfield who would drive, at the time, a Jaguar XJ6, a Rover 827 SLI and a Citroen BX Diesel Estate in a manner that those cars have never been driven in before or since. I remember Richard's first E-Type, an early white coupe, and the closest I have ever come to death, apart from a quadruple bypass, was Richard taking me in a race tuned Lotus Super 7 up Station Road in Honley, and around Farnley Tyas then back to Brockholes where we were neighbours.

    The problem with racing these cars is that some of them are extremely rare, and if you trash them ,they are gone forever. In another YT video, I saw a Ferrari 250 GTO blow its engine. If this is indeed a real 250 and not a reproduction, this car just lost a lot of value if it was a numbers matching car. I would rather pay the $2 million for a reproduction than trash a $50 million dollar car.

    • @jcgabriel1569
      @jcgabriel1569 Рік тому +1

      Apparently, that's a recreation using a Ferrari 250 GTE as a parts donor. Though the owner does own an original 250 GTO...
      Though, it's a bit weird. The owner also entered his 250 LM, and that's an original car at the Lavant Cup (though it DNS). He also entered his Jaguar E Type Lightweight Low Drag Coupe at the RAC TT, and that is also an original car...

    • @jcgabriel1569
      @jcgabriel1569 Рік тому +1

      Also, stop fretting about the value. Nick Mason himself said that you can't deal a million dollar damage to a million dollar car. Those cars would never lose their value like that. In fact, the owners themselves say it helps, because any prospective buyer would know that the car they're after is in the best condition, and also being kept in the right hands... too many of them were just locked inside some hidden garage, then once you buy them you'll realize they haven't moved for years and the whole thing had seized up and now you'll have to spend a small fortune repairing everything...

    • @jcgabriel1569
      @jcgabriel1569 Рік тому

      @@NCB583 I didn't say Nick Mason's car is a replica, I know it isn't. I just quoted Nick saying that you can't possibly deal damage that costs as much as the whole car's value...
      And it was raced by people like Mark Hales, Martin Brundle (I'm sure he's the one you're referring to), Jean Alesi, and others...
