This meditation found me at an absolutely perfect time. Ive been feeling very disconnected from my body and my root self and this guided lesson helped me remember that im not the flower being cut away from my roots and carried off. I am the root and the seed. So the flower will bloom again with enough love and time 💕 youre an excellent teacher!

It’s wild that a year later I’m reading this comment, and this is the first time I’m doing any root chakra work, but somehow that was exactly the visualization I had: someone coming over and trying to pull me out of the ground as a flower, but my roots being so big and strong that not even my stem will break-no one can carry you away 💚

Well this opened some shit up I wasn't aware I was dealing with. Helped put some symbols in place that make HUGE sense. I care for trees that I find as seedlings, then when they're strong enough I begin to train them into bonsai. When you began the guided visualization I couldn't think of a flower--I'm a biology student with focuses on botany & mycology, I garden, was raised with & always had plants, even if just in pots. I've been raising orchids longer than I've been sober, and I've been sober more than a decade. Not a single damn flower came to mind, so instead of overthinking I just rolled with it: I'm in a seed, don't know what I am, it'll become apparent as I grow. And I grew. I pictured myself growing, and when my _leaves_ began to form I was already out of the ground. Oops, not overthinking it, this happens to a lot of plants, but what's taking shape in my head is...a juniper.
I create bonsai from trees & seedlings I find already growing. I often find juniper in thin leaf litter, in ditches or culverts where organic detritus like leaves & grass clippings have built up. They might be a little stunted or misshapen, but they'll grow healthy in concrete cracks. They'll grow for ages in lawns being run over by mowers, shaping themselves according to the routine height of the lawn. The ones in sidewalks & lawns may be ideal for my purposes, but they're embedded in their situations. I'm not that juniper though: I'm a leaf litter juniper. I won't survive without deeper roots in time, but I _can_ survive without grounded conditions for years. These trees often don't make it. I have _many_ friends with life parallels to mine who haven't survived. More didn't land in good places & withered, or they stayed with shallow roots & eventually couldn't hold on in a real storm, or died where they were because we simply can't survive in the kinds of situations in which we found ourselves. Some stayed in a situation with external abuse like a lawn & failed to send out enough roots, create a deep well of sustenance from which to draw strength, and the mowing eventually eliminated too much.
I'm one of my bonsai. Shallowly rooted, moved around, uprooted multiple times, forced with pain & determination and shaped by elements from in- and outside to become what I am. I'm not a dandelion growing though the cracks, I'm not kudzu fluorishing in anything close to appropriate conditions & overcoming everything. I'm that juniper in a ditch.
Fuck, man, that touched me DEEPLY. Thank you.

You're an amazing instructor! I loved the meditation at the end and I am drawn to tell you a quick story about my experience with it. The first flower that popped into my head was an iris, but then my gardener mind was like "iris is a bulb not a seed" so I switched to marigold, as I have harvested some over-wintered marigold seeds a few weeks ago. After the practice, I went to my window and was enjoying the warmth of the sunlight while saying affirmations and I looked to my left on the cat tower and low and behold...a marigold seed right on top of the cat tower.
