@olrac42vids I recently tried to install a K&N air filter in the Jackson Racing Cold Air Intake and, unfortunately, it won't fit without some modifications (I used the K&N air filter size that fits in the stock Miata intake unit). I'm going to try and cut away some of the rubber filter frame and see if that works. And I'll be honest, I really like this intake unit, but am very disappointed by the quality of the air filter and the over use of oil in the filter. I recently examined the intake and the filter that came with it and noticed that there were some small pools of oil in the filter housing and that quite a bit of debris had made it by the filter. My concern is that the oil leaking from the filter and the debris that made it by the filter may be the cause of the erratic idle and poor performance that I've been experience. Seeing that the delicate Mass Air Flow Sensor is located mere inches away from the filter and after eliminating a number of other potential causes, I plan to replace my Mass Air Flow Sensor and try and get a different filter in this unit and see what happens. I'll keep you updated and if I'm successful with the filter modification I will be sure to send you some instruction on how to get the filter to fit.
In the end I was able to get a K&N air filter to fit, but not without trimming down the sides (the two sides that a shortest). Both sides had to have some of the rubber on the side taken down using a combination of hacksaw and box cutter, but after that the fit is perfect. And after replacing the Mass Air Flow sensor and putting in the K&N air filter the erratic idle has not returned. My only word of advice is be very careful not to cut yourself while trimming down the sides. Other's might have a difference experience, but I had a few close calls due to the flex in the rubber of the air filter and poor quality of the tools I was using. But, all in all, I am very happy once again.
Good product ,but not so aisy to instal,i have since seven years alredy. Idont see the instalation of remove and put it back the radiator termostat ?!!! and change in cruse-control !!! DON'T FORGET,WHAT YOU HAVE TO DO,EACH TIME,YOU WHANT TO DO YOUR TIMING WHIT A STROBE !!!? excusa my franglish///GOD LOOK....
wish more companies made intakes for the na miatas, most of them suck up hot air because they are above the exhaust

Where do you put the AFM on an NA6? **Just read the instructions and it gets stuffed in sideways between the radiator and engine. Nice.
