We don’t deserve this level of content
I appreciate you 🙏
damn right we don't.... love you saint miata dad.
This is the content I needed when I had my Miata days :) Makes me kind of wanna buy one :P
@@TheCarPassionChannel Literally the only person to take decades of Miata forum guesses and estimations about mods & actually test them back to back logically. Half the people watching this video won't even realise how much of absolute hero move this video is. Miata dad is best dad.
@@R03333 Just wait for round 2 😉
What an absolute legend. Even 6 hour dyno days are absolutely draining, I can't imagine doing this. Always pushing the miata community knowledge, and it's much appreciated!
u guys do a pretty good job too 😉
I realize I'm kinda randomly asking but do anyone know of a good site to stream new series online ?
@Maverick Moshe flixportal =)
@Neil Konnor thanks, signed up and it seems like a nice service =) Appreciate it !!
@Maverick Moshe no problem =)
Greg: “I don’t think I brought the bathroom scale.”
Me: “Haha that’s funny”
Greg: *Pulls out bathroom scale*
Can't wait to buy an official TheCarPassionChannel intake!
Did he ever post exactly how he made that intake?
Note to self: Buy the biggest possible air filter and cut a huge hole in the hood
I think the velocity stack inside is the key.
Biggest filter possible is always a good idea. I need to get a bigger one for my intake.
Ehh I have been running without a filter on my turbo inlet for a year or 2 now. No issues
A properly sized, good quality filter will be a nearly invisible restriction to the system. Pipe length, tube diameter, the bell mouth on the intake and heat management all play a roll and need to be considered
But all the guys on facebook said these mods only lose power.
the dedication is unreal, i like it
Dad!! This is the best way to start my weekend!!
Miata dad spending quality time with us, his children! 👊
Greg, it’s people like you that make me proud to be a part of the Miata community. Thank you for your dedication.
Would have liked to see the result putting the stock ECU back on with those mods to see if its worse or better than stock
^^^^^
Must be the first test in the next session.
This will be done in the next dyno video.
@@TheCarPassionChannel This is very interesting! Maybe fewer gains, but a good start to run stock ECU? And what about safety? Will the stock ECU compensate and not run dangerously lean and hot? :D
Those are bigger gains than I was expecting for those bolt ons and an ECU! I still prefer budget spoolie-bois for cost per horsepower, but it’s awesome to see real world results with these bolt ons! Great content as always!
The ECU is not a surprise, the stock set up is designed to account for a variety of fuels, driving conditions and is pretty conservative as a result.
@@foamdataservices yeah I know, I have a stand-alone in mine. Before I turbod it it made a noticeable difference. The combination of everything is what really surprised me
Budget spooly bois will work that much better with a higher power NA engine, which he alluded to with the intake runner system tuning
I wanna slap the 3 people who failed to see value in the best content creator on youtube's video...
It would be interesting to see a video on how much advancing a Miata's timing from 10 to 14 degrees increases power.
I think that's going to show the real value of standalone ECU.
@@alexjohn5086 you can do it by rotating the cam sensor! It's a common Miata mod. All you need is a timing light. It makes it a little snappier
i believe it just shifts the powerband to come on sooner. but then again, just info i've read before, not anything i've done or experienced
@@psrb226 You are correct, but in reverse. it gives more top end. great for racing or autocross
@@theluckycatcollective8788 yes I replaced my CC with latest one from Japan ,It was like driving a new car ,but didn't change timing on front damper using the light, my NB is in storage for the winter ,will try it this spring .
I fucking love the N/A tuning man. THANCK YOU SO MUCH
the only channel i turn my adblocker off for and just let ads play through. no lie. been subbed for like 6 years i think
I love that you took all this time to make a usefull comparison! Great job!
Love how technical these vids get, best parts of a build 🙏
Brilliant Greg! Real practical mods that ordinary folks can do or have done. Awesome! Thank you for your dedication! All the best, Rob in Switzerland
Glad you didn’t burn down the dyno with that fireball!
Great information thanks for making it available. Looking forward to part II.
Your energy is amazing. Took me all winter break just to do NB2 header, radiator and all the coolant hoses. Thank you. You are basically working on my exact model. This is fascinating.
Greg we need a video of the ultimate intake!
great technical content my dude! loved seeing the back to back pulls + comparisons. looked like a hella long day, thanks for this!
Very informative and nice video. Like these dyno comparisons a lot!
Wow dude. THANK YOU FOR THE WORK! Many folks here won't understand the work involved with dyno tuning.
Nice work Greg. Thanks for the dedication to educating us all.
Quite impressive power increase, considering it's still a stock internal, high mileage, 20 year old BP.
Can't wait for the next set of tests.
straight up dying for an exhintake video :(
Everyone forgets thats a thing
Good news: Exhintake cam is already installed. Full install video and dyno test coming.
Awesome video man, loved every bit! So much information provided
Total respect. Such a useful piece of really hard work. Thank you
WOW, super imformative video. Thank you for your continuous contribution of real data for the miata scene
All I can say is thank you for your dedication! 🙌🏼
Such a good video greg...so helpful and beyond entertaining. Thanks for putting in the work to make such a great video for us bro!❤️💯✊🏽
YOU ARE THE MAN!!!!! This is the best channel for unbiased information using basic tools. You have answered so many questions in one video. I thank you from the Czech Republic. MORE VIDEOS PLEASE,,,,,,,
More legendary content. Greg you alone have shown me the full potential of the mx5 miata.
I'm from the UK, getting my NB in a month and honestly this video makes me x10 more excited to get it. just found your channel, amazing !!
This is solid gold content. Thanks, man!
Respect! Doing that much in a single day. Looking forward to the next dyno video!
Thanks for making amazing content on nb miatas! Can't wait for the next episode!
This is the absolute best video on bolt ons ever. We don't deserve this attention to detail you provided us. Instantly subbed with notifications on great work!
Guy: Ha that intakes a joke
Intake: makes more power than then one you bought for $350
That's the exact reason why I straight up removed the air filter on my car (the intake isn't facing the road, so I'm safe from stuff getting in my engine) it's been 10K miles and it still runs great (for a 1985 4 cylinder diesel)
@@turbo_alice lol.
@@turbo_alice Enjoy your reduced engine life.
@@C.I... it's an XUD, it can last forever, so I'm not that worried for it
You're like the Richard Holdener for Miatas, my favourite type of video! I never would have expected that kind of power.
Bad ass! Thanks so much for doing the hard work back to back. Intake smells like my next mod!
Incredible content, the level of those kind of videos is insane!
This couldn't have been easy, thanks for everything you put into your videos!
Awesome vid! Waiting for more!
Been waiting for this Greg, love what you are doing!
I am loving the NB videos !
Just made a cup of tea, one minute into the video I am hyped. Thank you for this!
Super hyped for this build
Greg, thank you so much for putting in the time and effort, thats crazy :D
25whp gain op top is very good for easy bolt ons and I'm sure there is some power left with even better fuel
good gains, but the cost to get those will be really high.
Just bought an nb 3 days ago. You're videos give me so much inspiration
Greg always doing the most, awesome dedication to the platform!
This was a really cool video idea 💡👌
Always bringing good stuff to us
Thanks for this, that is a lot of work to get through.
Awesome work! You've settled up half of our pub arguments :) If you want to continue with intake testing, would be awesome to try different lengths, diameters, filters and try it with closed hood,.. HKS mushroom and RamAir are my favourites because of the internal velocity stack.
that vics is sooooo cool! I have a 99 miata and i always thought it almost sounded vtec'y near redline, ITS VICS!!! didnt know i had that. very cool. GREAT VIDEO!!!
Loved the video! Cant wait for the next dyno video!
Great videos man. Keep it up.
Perfect! Looking forward for the next video
Yay more content!!! We missed you!
Great video Greg. Interesting as always.
earned a sub, i have a corolla 1.8l and i tend to look at miatas for research purposes and this is what i was looking for, thanks bro
That was sick, thanks for doing that! I always wanted to play on a dyno and test parts.
Incredible we appreciate the info
Awesome video creg!
Car dedication channel. Awesome video.
so excited for the next vid!!
Swapping out my CA NB1 "boat-anchor" exhaust manifold was super satisfying
Did you swap it with an NB2?
@@otto5437 Yes.. paired with the Racing Beat O2 Sensor relocation kit
You put a lot of work in these videos well done.
10:30 i legit screamed. I'm about to install my isr exhaust on my nb1 and i can't wait to hear it!!
Just picked up a NB1 this month, thank you for all of this information 🙏🏻
Got lucky, car came with the 4 to 1 headers, and racing beat muffler.
Thanks a LOT for that approach, Greg! Respect for hot exhaust swaps, man.
Eat that, Donut and MoneyPit. Performance vs entartaiment.
Thank you for making this video ❤
Thank you for your efforts.
How can ANYONE give this a thumbs down????
Greg, your dedication to your followers is truly amazing - you are even more of a legend (yes, even more than you already were!!)
super-mega-hyper interesting this video, dude. Thank you!
Can't wait for the next episode 😊
Great episode! More like this
Cheers for the info, I have a 2012 NC and I’m chasing information for - thanks- great work
Really interesting Greg, thanks for the insight.👍🏽😎
That exhaust sounds very good!
Yooooooooooo can't wait to see what you do with that intake!!! My NB2 is getting pulled apart soon for some work and i want to get as much done to the car while it's down
Thanks for the video, super nice
10:30 pop was so good, it sounded good too
This is fantastic content, thank you. Must’ve took some effort to put that together 👍
Great work!
Great video and content, thank you!
legendary content and approach. need i say more? reference material for years to come. Thanks doesn't say enough
Awesome days activity bro, big shout to your stickability
What a great bday present, thank you! Just about what any Miata owner could ask for when researching parts
Good info! Thanks much!
as a nb owner, im lovin the project tsj! thanx
Love the sum41 cap dude, long live all killer no filler !!
Awesome video!
Good work buddy.
This is a great reference to what can make a difference. I'll be watching this and messing with some things with my mp62 nb1 on e85. I wish I had access to a dyno because I understand that with e85 you really should spend time doing dyno work to maximize any potential gains.
great video daddy! appreciate the effort it took to make this video!
This is the video I didn't know I needed
I really like this. Awesome man.
