Thank you thank you thank you and thank you again !!!!!! I finally solved the problem. Shame on SONY. They should have made a better tutorial. You're a true genius. I've connected all my A7m4 together now.
Well done! This came in clutch for me today- I had exactly the same problem, I couldn’t get the cameras to connect at all- and now they do! Thanks so much- you are a life saver! 🎉
Great video and was able to make it work. Both A7IV overheated in 10 minutes in ( 4k 30 8 bit ). Anyone else experience overheating while using the app this way?
Thanks for watching! I’ve been using it with my A7CII and haven’t noticed any overheating issues with it. I recently did an overheating test with A7IV and A7CII and they both had comparable results. I am shooting 4k 25p 10bit 4:2:2 which I would have thought being a more higher bit rate codec that this would cause it to overheat faster than your camera settings.
@ i had two a7iv on tripods at a conference and they both overheated in the first 20 mins while connected to the app via hotspot wifi. The a7iv overheated on another occasion while recording connected to an external battery via usb c. Crazy unreliable.
I’m glad I wasn’t the only one who didn’t realise this! It was annoying because I’m sure it works as a solo cam setup, or via Creator’s app… I just couldn’t get multicam… glad it helped!
Hi, thank you very much for this video ! I didn't understand which version of Ipad offers the hotspot to connect directly the cameras on it. Have you ever tried it ? Many thanks and very good day !
iPads usually come in two versions, Cellular and Non-Cellular. Cellular versions are the same but allow you to put in a Sim Card or link an e-Sim to it which then can have its own 5G Data connection. You can then turn on settings for these iPads to be a hotspot so you can link your laptop to connect to the 5G data connection through your iPad.
Unfortunately I don’t have an android device to test and have not researched the app compatibility with Android. I would assume it would be available on an Android tablet, but unfortunately this is just an assumption. What tablet do you plan on using it with, do you have the tablet already?
Unfortunately, multicam monitoring via the Sony app is only currently supported on Apple devices. You can get a reasonably priced ipad from this purpose.

Thanks - but I can’t take the credit, I found the answer through the other video I referenced in mine…
Thanks for the shout-out, man. This is very nicely done. Keep up the good work.
Of course mate! Credit where credit is due… I may still be stuck on that one setting if it weren’t for your video lol…

Awesome! Glad to hear it helped! Also glad to hear I wasn’t the only one stuck at this point lol… thanks for watching and commenting!
Helpful. Thank you
Awesome! Glad it helped! I have a shorter follow up where I show the Hot Spot method if you had a Cellular iPad…

This is a really good video, and ended my attempts to pull out hair I don't have! Thanks Leo!

Hi,is this multicam function work on Android ?
